nice game, even if I dont play it for a year or two whenever I come back I always get the same feel as if I were playing it as a 9yr old on my moms work laptop. The replayability of this will make you keep replaying it well into… well I don’t know how old but I know I’ll probably play this game when I’m middleaged with kids and even further on when my kids are middleaged with kids. This game is such a gem and I fucking hate EA for ruining maxis this game was perfect and it could’ve been even better if it weren’t for the GREEDY CORPORATE SCUM OF EA GIVING MAXIS IMPOSSIBLE DEADLINES! THEY HAD TO CUT OUT 2 ENTIRE STAGES OF THE GAME FUCK YOU EA CORPO-SCUM! anyway best game i’ve ever played 10/10 more creative than minecraft.

Megaton Rainfall

Megaton Rainfall

Megaton rainfall is truly a game of the ages and fits two genres: Do you want to be an all powerful psuedo god who can literally go to the ends of the universe if they wish, or do you want to be a superhero who saves the world from the damned ufos? well this is the game for you, although at first when you only have one power the game can feel pretty slow, but as you get more and more the game combat starts to feel truly fun.

! Once you have super luminal speed (8 trillion times the speed of light) leave the galaxy and then look at the galaxy, follow the white light (not the blue one, thats earth) and stand in front of the monoliths/signs blue ray until you get a narration sequence, listen to what they say as this is half of the storyline, then use heat ray if you have it to destroy the monolith once its done, and then a new light will appear in a different galaxy, repeat this until you reach sign 7 This game was made perfectly that even something as simple as the enemies going to a different city gives you chills, the soundtrack goes from intense combat dubstep to a beautiful singing voice during transitions and It was done this was intentionally, because the author knew it would be beautiful. Although there really isnt anything in the universe aside from planets, stars, blackholes, pulsars etc (i mean no intelligent life except for invaders and humans) there is just something so satisfying about crash landing on the moon at mach 523534635894674563059467, kinda makes me feel like saitama. Or flying trillions upon trillions of lightyears to a distant galaxy, going to a star in said galaxy, and launching nukes at a planet and then landing in said crator. Another thing on the combat is that although you cannot die, you can fail if a city loses too many people aka “casualties” and the game teaches “with great power comes great responsiblity” because most of the time, you actually deal more damage to the city itself than the enemies ever could, just by missing with your most basic attack. There is only one mission i’ve seen where the enemies could do more damage than you in a shorter amount of time. And when i say more damage than you I dont mean you going on a full assault of the city, as i stated above, i mean just missing with your basic attack. There is so much more that i could probably say about this game but im terrible at writing reviews. You should most definitely play this game, even if its not necessarily your genre this game just slaps awe all over your face quite a few times.

=================================================================

UPDATE: 6/20/2018: A recent update nerfed the speed tremendously for no apparent reason. Your character now moves about 50% slower now compared to when I wrote this review. This seriously hurts the fun of the game and if you’re a new player, you’re going to be spending a lot of unnecessary time moving around now that speed is crippled.

UPDATE: 6/26/2018: Another update that seems to show the dev is ruining his own game. You can no longer float downwards and “walk” on the surface. You’re forcibly gridlocked now and if you keep trying to descend, your game will crash. I can no longer recommend this game.

SPORE™ Creepy & Cute Parts Pack

SPORE™ Creepy & Cute Parts Pack

As one of my old favorites, this game still delivers. It really is a shame that it got so much flak from the religious communities for being associated with evolution, because it is just simply a joy to play.

Note the thumbs down is for the Creepy&Cute pack. The base game is a thumbs up, however, $20 for a handful of extra parts half of which you will never see or even use is just insane. This is a $5 content pack and no one should spend any more than that on it.

As for the base game, I would still recommend it, however,

SPORE™ Creepy & Cute Parts Pack… for all of your creative needs

SPORE™ Creepy & Cute Parts Pack adds new parts, colors, and animations to the Creature Creator feature of SPORE™. This is quite an expensive expansion with a twenty dollar price tag, on top of you being required to pay the twenty for SPORE™, even though this is not a DLC, but a standalone game.

This game has a total of 84 new creature parts which is 24 parts more than advertised, 48 new colors, 24 new animations, and 2 new testing area backgrounds.

Please read completely before making full judgment. The TL;DR is at the bottom.

Before I purchased this game, I saw that the top reviews were negative ones. However, I liked the screenshots and description, and I am fairly open-minded with low expectations, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I think one of the biggest problems is that people are going into this expecting more than what it is. The popular tags really should include “Casual”.

Overall, I liked it. It is a God game, but on a Casual scale. It does not reach the grandiosity of many other God games. I can understand how there are so many negative reviews, especially the ones made on release day at a higher price point. Considering Pocket Games planned to, and did release, an iOS version after PC, I think the design was targeting mobile from the beginning. This game is limited in scope, scale, depth, etc. I will go into it more later.

Positives: Easy to learn game! I figured out how to do everything even before the tutorial was completed. Very simple graphics, so it runned great on my old laptop (Which is 5 years old.) It’s kid friendly, and I was not sure wether I was playing a childrens game, or a adult game. I’d say it’s perfect for kids. It has some great charm, and the kind sensation the game gives a impression off, feels really good! It lightened my mood. Cool graphics when lowering land!

Negatives: I couldn’t descide what buildings to build, and where to place them. The Furlings did that for me. I really disliked that. There was no way to make roads, and more fancy looking towns. There was no structure, or streets, walls for protection etc. Just a town, and all I could do as a “God” was to create land. And I could do some natural powers, such as rain, lightning, vulcano, etc. But those got old, pretty fast, because of the graphics when shooting one off. Annoying to see it come up in a circle every single time, and being locked to it… And making a pathway from one hight level to the other was hard, seeing as how when I just lower ground it is in the shape of a hand, while highening lang was more “correct” in my head, as it highed only a nice radius around my cursor. The game only had 8 levels, and 3 bonus levels. The last bonus level was dissapointing, even though I get why it was as it was. But the game story in general was very dissapointing. I had hoped for a bigger challenge, and a longer story. It seemed to me, as if the developers gave up on it.

it’s 2 years later and essentially nothing has changed… key personel in the company that were working on the game left because their contracts were not renewed, and insider whispers are that nobody is working on it anymore… the company denies that, yet nothing has been added or changed. Instead, they started making yet another microtransaction laden game for IOS, which, not only tries to push you to spend real money, but also has an obnoxious character that gets in your way frequently to try to get you to watch advertisements. 22cans… you are dead to me!

GODUS Beta 2.1 Review Update August 2014

8 months after my first Review of this game, I have given Godus another 20 hours of game play in the latest 2.1 Patch.

The worst parts of the old Godus Alpha have been fully realised, Godus 2.1 is now an iOS game and the freemium model mechanics are fully in place.

After 20 hours in the 2.1 build I can say that there is no game here, just a count down mechanic, followed by a countdown mechanic, everything else you do in Godus leads you to a bigger countdown.

Marble World

Marble World

Are you reading this to see if you should get this game?

Then congratulations! You probably should.

This game isn’t for everybody, because not everyone would care about a Marble physics simulator, but if you’re reading this - You probably enjoy marble runs enough to consider this a fun toy, in which case - this game definitely is! At least… If you’re willing to learn the controls for it, which are REALLY not intuitive at first but you get used to them once you learn them (also, the game’s still in early access and improving the controls is on the dev’s to do list)

Real player with 155.4 hrs in game

Love the game! I’d give 4.5/5. The reason I don’t give a full 5 stars, is because its only for windows. I understand that things are weird, but maybe making it available to mac would really be cool and add more of the community to the game.

EDIT: I don’t update my rating, still 4.5/5. I know this is still early access, but it would be pretty nice if something like “Gates” were added, letting you stop all your marbles at specific areas. Another thing that would be cool would be a sort of “trash block”, where once a marble touches it, its automatically deleted. Again, this game is still early access, so it doesn’t matter for how long it takes, as long as it can be done.

Its… Okay… Thats kinda the problem.

You start off with a single location with followers and the ability to use 2 commands. That tends to be “gather food” and “make babies”. Make babies is important as you get screwed over very easily early on. Note that even in easy mode, this game is hard at times and if you can’t gather metal, you might as well start again, it leads to a dead end. Once your first town is 4/4 big at least, you need to push migration, finding a new town. The trouble is the command will result in followers following between the two towns. Once the new town is at 4/4 and the old town is at 4/4, with each having babies available, you then got to push to create another town. And you have little choice… At 2 towns it can go wrong.

Real player with 23.3 hrs in game

It’s not very good nor is it very well thought out. The core principle is intriguing but it’s incredibly frustrating when you tell your starving people - who are supposed to follow your every command at high enough faith - to gather food and they simply ignore you only to starve to death. I’ll go over a few reasons why you shouldn’t buy this game (even on sale):

  1. The AI is quite simply terrible more often than not. Sometimes I’ll issue the same commandment multiple times before my people do what I want them to do (because the commandment either ran out or the original commandment has now become something else due to interpretations). (And yes my cities had high faith.)

MiniMap Kingdom

MiniMap Kingdom

It’s a simple mini explore game + buildings. It has potential to be big if player constantly feedback what system /mechanisms to be added. The game will be improved. It’s pretty fun game if you are willing to spend some time to understand the mechanism.

It will feel a little complicated in the early stage. but once you get hooked and understand how the game works, you can lead your armies to occupy enemy’s base. It will earn you satisfactions.

The developer is very passionate and friendly approach, willing to listen to feedback. Give him a support if you are free to check out this game.
