Birthdays the Beginning
Birthdays the Beginning is probably my most reluctant recommendation of a game I can give.
It has so many gaping, terrible problems with it. Just check out all the other reviews, most of them sum it up.
The game is uninteractive, the animals barely do anything, might as well just be numbers with a static sprite.
It’s all a game of population control. That’s it.
It can be incredibly, incredibly frustrating trying to get certain species to spawn because they need exact precise requirements for long periods of time and balancing other populations to be in harmony. It’s a mess.

I would tentatively give this game a thumbs up. In the couple of days since it was released, I have played way too many hours.
First, the many negatives:
- This game has clearly not been fully implemented for PC and keyboard & mouse. The tutorial talks about using the ‘left stick’ and ‘right stick’, which makes it even more difficult to understand the controls. The key bindings are at best tricky and at worst terrible: the game uses WASD for moving, arrow keys for moving the camera (the mouse does this too, but very slowly), and XFGHJKLI for menu selections. For some reason, I (i) is used for both favouriting items and switching between macro and micro, which means you end up with a load of favourites, and have to be extra careful not to press J and use them accidentally.

Wildlife Park 2 - Dino World
very fun game although i personally think it needs some more dinosaurs like some kind of sauropod and galimimus. also carnotaurus would be awesome! either way this game is fun and if you learn how to do it right u can go without ever feeding ur dinos! (I dont mean hacking or glitching dont do that XD)

I am most pleased with Wildlife Park 2 as i have been playing for years and i am so glad that it has come to steam and i will have many more memorable moments in the future. Simply intriguing, Fascinating and mysterious as i am still learning more about the game.
My favourite thing to do is make an ecosytem of herbivores and predators that maintain healthy populations and feed themselves , and thus continue to survive by providing a proper genetic diversity for themselves. This way i can observe how the AI reacts and responds when left with little to no contact from the user.

The Sapling
Very reminisce of Spore, but focus on natural selection and ecology which Spore seriously lacked. I completed all the current scenarios. So a 4 out 5 for me, and must buy for anyone who want an ecological game.
In a world filled with in-your-face tutorial, Sapling tutorial teach to basic and then allow the player learn the rest thru trying out all the functions and hover-over information. A serious plus.
The scenarios are both pleasing and challenging puzzles, and as I said before the scenarios teach the player how to use the game thru experimentation over in-your-face hand-holding flood of pop-up tutorials that plague the gaming world. Even once you completed all scenarios, the sandbox is actually challenging and very satisfying despite the fact everything is unlocked. With mutation and time-skip for sand-box, it allow you is more accurate natural selection.

I really love this game, I also love creating creatures to play as, or to just simply observe them evolving! Its fun to see how they would do in the wild trough a simulation. Though, this game is small and all, I’d want to be able to use a brush tool to change moisture and temperature of places, with it automatically changing the color and creating puddles or mud, maybe even a coloring tool to give the ground some color! *With this there should be an option to make the lakes not be automatically created. But also, we should be able to create our own lakes, so we can make a swamp-like environment for our creations to survive in! But really, overall I’d rate this game an 8.5/10 , one of the problems I have is lag, even with a good pc and low settings, probably due to many things moving at once all the time and the crashing. Another issue is the time cap I encountered, everything froze and I could only get past it trough a time skip, which took a whole 7 minutes to be done. But I enjoy this game alot, despite the issues. Hope you guys can develop this game to be one of the best simulation games ever!

Tyto Ecology
At the time of this review, I’ve put 114.4 hours into Tyto. In the interest of disclosure - I received the base game as a gift from a friend, though I purchased the DLC on my own.
I’ve been with the game a long time - I believe shortly before the Himylan DLC came out, through to the current Cretacious DLC. In that time there’s been a lot of growth and a lot of care (even the odd spot of free content), and while it’s still not perfect, it’s a lot of fun and it’s been money more than well spent.

EDIT: I originally indicated that Tyto Ecology focuses on the more simplistic aspects of the maintaining of an environment in equilibrium. While that may be true in the limited number of “players in the game”, within those diverse players that are included there is NO shortage of complex interaction. As I expand the scope of my own TE creation, resulting in the increased need for answers to more multifaceted questions (a reflection of the environment itself, perhaps), I am constantly astounded as to just how complex the overall interaction is. Clearly not by accident, but precisely as intended. The complexity reveals itself slowly through necessity, as is done with any extremely well designed game. And these DEVS know exactly of what they speak, and say it extremely well. And with great passion.

Wildlife Park Gold Reloaded
It’s not a patch on the original Zoo Tycoon. None of the scenarios seem to be winnable after the intitial introduction ones and it’s plagued with problems, such as vets not treating animals, animals not eating food, etc… The free form games are probably OK, but come on, when will Steam have the original Zoo Tycoon? The only reason I bought this was because I miss the game as my pc will no longer play the CD ROM of the original (and you can’t seem to get computers with disc drives now.) The graphics aren’t as nice either, nor is the section of animals in the game is as extensive, though I could have put that aside if there weren’t so many bugs in the game.

An oversimplified version of the original game made to be played on mobile devices. The menus don’t give you even half of the details you actually need to know to keep your animals happy. Would recommend just buying the original version of the base game and wild creatures

Cell to Singularity - Evolution Never Ends
Great concept, would be awesome if you incorporate an alternative path/root system,
that as a golden spiral (going right) whose growth factor is φ, ‘The Golden Ratio’.
This would make is as you are traveling through time and space,
you can use that filter effect to blur out the cells/paths away from your point of view,
thus at times re-create that ‘miniature effect’ on screen (that would be cool, no?).
Also having the ability to go backwards, like an “undo button” that you could add to the daily drops (go up to 3 cells back in time, but keep 10% of the credits)…..anyway,

Playing with the Early Access version:
If you play this game actively, you’re asking for repetitive stress injuries, since the primary means of gathering resources is repetitive clicking. The numbers end up truly ridiculous, too. Without even leaving the stone age, there are things that cost trillions of a resource. It runs fine in the background, though, so you can leave the (jaunty, pleasant) music on while you do other things and come back to it when you need a break from those other things.

The Fall of Balance
The Fall of Balance is a VR, fantasy game focused on Colossal boss fights, each with various mechanics, like climbing, character Skills, and others. Although it can be easily compared to Shadow of the Colossus in VR, many gameplay elements make it unique. You will have to trick the giant Guardians in order to climb them and search for their vital spots.
The game is mainly centered around boss fights, but Easter Eggs will be a huge part of the game too, hopefully creating a great and strong community for The Fall of Balance.
Wildlife Park - Wild Creatures
the more creatures you please the happier you are.

This is by far my favorite game to play now. I was a HUGE fan of the Zoo Tycoon franchise, and being that it isn’t available on Steam (and my laptop has no disk drive) I downloaded the original “Wildlife Park” to see how I like it. I LOVED IT, so I downloaded the “Wild Creatures” expansion. Having loved that so much as well, I play this game more than any others I’ve gotten from Steam.
Bottom line: LOVE the original title and the “Wild Creatures” expansion more than I ever loved Zoo Tycoon and it’s entire franchise.
