Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations

Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations

I’ve tried other jigsaw games here on Steam, and Super Jigsaw Puzzle Generations is hands down my favorite. If you’re a puzzle-lover, you won’t be disappointed. I like the selection of free puzzles and how you can get every achievement on just the free, but I’ve also purchased 3 dlc sets (at the time of this writing: Fruits, Kittens, and Sunsets) and looking to purchase more in the future. I like how I can select the number of pieces it takes to fully assemble each and every puzzle (60, 200, 400, or 800), which allows me to play according to however I feel at the time. The UI is nice and clean, and recently a number of really good quality of life features have been added, one of which completely negates the one thing I might have complained about… I.e. you can opt to one-click drag a piece instead of click-holding to drag a piece – at one point I was playing this game for such long periods that my carpal tunnel was beginning to act up, and it’s nice not having to worry that will ever be an issue. And… is it weird that I really love how the mouse cursor disappears when holding a piece? I get really annoyed in the other jigsaw games where the cursor obscures a piece that I’m trying to match to other pieces. Trust me, if you’re doing an 800-pc, you’ll like being able to examine every bit of it. In short, get this game. Purchase the DLC sets. Support the devs and your jigsaw habit.

I wish there were a “meh” review option. This is a functional jigsaw puzzle game. I have played worse. I have played better. The snapping of the pieces is fine, above average even as it allows you to change the distance to when it will snap. The ease of moving pieces is ok, really just exactly average. The side box/extra space is ok, if a bit small, and slightly cumbersome as you can’t see them all laid out at the same time.

There is a major flaw in the game imo. The rendering of the pieces happens before they are rotated and scattered, this causes two issues. You can see the shine on the sides of the pieces and know instantly which way the piece should be orientated. And it is basically useless to zoom in as the image just pixelates; it straight up just gets bigger, not clearer.

Malcom’s Day

Malcom’s Day

Malcom’s Day® is a platformer whose development was influenced by a strong passion for videogames of the ’80s and ’90s and by the beautiful experiences lived in the daily life of those years.

Developed by a guy from the ’90s.

BEFORE YOU START READING THE GAME DESCRIPTION

What follows is a brief summary that describes some details of this adventure such as the presentation of the main character and some features related to the gameplay.

The truth is that a video game is difficult to explain and the best way to understand it is to play!

THE MAIN CHARACTER

Who is Malcom?

He is a middle school kid whose main passion is make a mess!

Mocking the professors and pranking them fill his school mornings.

One day after coming back from the physical education lesson with his classmates, the teacher of the next hour was sitting at her desk waiting for him.

Without even giving him the time to set his backpack down, she blamed him for hiding the items contained in her pencil case.

Given his history he was immediately put in the worst of punishments…The desk to the front of the class where it was impossible to copy during the tests, at least until the items will be returned.

But what if it wasn’t him the guilty one this time?

Malcom wants to prove his innocence, a strange journey awaits him!

COMBAT SYSTEM

At the start of the game only one physical attack at close range is available but it will not be long before you can get hold of curious instruments for long-range attacks.

At this point fighting against enemies will be much more fun!

ENEMIES AND OUTFITS

Each area in which there is a fundamental item to solve the case is protected by a strong enemy, but after defeating him you will be rewarded with a new outfit!

After being collected, the new outfit can be worn by selecting it from the menu.

The new outfits, as well as changing the look of Malcom, allow the use of more powerful attacks or the creation of objects useful for energy recovery or the recovery of points that allow special attacks to be carried out, such as (funny) attacks that cause continuous damage to enemies.

OTHER CHARACTERS

Malcom will not be alone in this adventure.

Many will be the allies able to provide valuable advice and suggestions such as where to find a hidden object, how to complete a secondary mission or even suggest a secret password to be inserted in a strange device located inside an abandoned submarine that can only be reached after finding and wearing a wetsuit…

There will be bizarre characters and creatures whose existence is considered a legend.

SIDE QUESTS

It will be possible to face many missions besides the main one, each of which will have a precise goal.

Some involve the discovery of hidden objects, others the destruction of many cars, still others searching for people…or growing a plant, increasing the level of some skills, collecting medicines, etc etc ect…

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT COMPLETION

The main story offers a series of challenging adventures, but ending the story does not mean having finished the whole game!

In fact in the menu there is a section dedicated exclusively to the percentage of completion in which the requests to be met are shown and next to each of them the relative percentage obtained after completing that particular request.

You can complete the whole game at any time, even after completing the main story!

CRAFTING HEALING OBJECTS

As mentioned earlier some outfits give Malcom the ability to craft objects that allow the recovery of energy or the recovery of other points necessary to carry out special attacks.

It is good to keep in mind, however, that these skills will be usable only if Malcolm has the basic materials necessary for the preparation, as well as having the correct outfit.

CONCLUSION

It’s up to you to discover the rest, see you soon!

Mushroom Savior

Sokoban with teleporters and unusual atmosphere. Forces player to take some leaps of faith here and there, but superior to its prequel, “Mushroom Quest”, in most of ways.

Super Jigsaw Puzzle

Super Jigsaw Puzzle

A must for jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts.

It’s jigsawing without the hassle. No pieces that can go missing or get sucked up by the vacuum cleaner!

There are 30 different puzzles, all available in sizes 40, 80, 200 and 400 pieces (giving a total of 120 puzzles).

Your puzzle is saved automatically every time you fit a piece in it’s correct position. Leave an unfinished puzzle, exit the game and return later whenever you wish to continue your work. A number of virtual boxes are available for sorting pieces by colour, texture, etc. You could however choose not to use any boxes (settings), for which there are Steam achievements.

This is the first jigsaw puzzle game by this developer, and it doesn’t have a theme like the later ones do. There is a wide variety of pictures, all of which have interesting colors that makes it fun to put them together. I think the pictures in their Cities and Monuments games are prettier, but these are pretty good. A lot nature scenes, plus more random stuff like an old boat. I would get Monuments first (that’s my favorite) and see if you like it. I think these are fun, well-made games so I recommend all of them, including this one.

Although very simple, the game’s proposal is very solid “Distribute the weights in the remaining blocks”. It was a longer game play than I expected, but it was a plus for me as the game has a window mode so I just played casually while doing other things.

Update:

Based on the quick developer response and their commitment to disable the internet beacon in the next update, I am changing my review to “Recommended.”

Original Review:

I like this game, but I cannot recommend it until the developer explains why a puzzle game with no multiplayer or DLC (which could warrant internet access) tries to connect to the internet (to ping.yoyogames.com 143.204.158.66:443). I have my firewall block the connection, but the puzzle game still works and auto-saves my progress. It does freeze up for several seconds every so often, which is also annoying and might be related to my blocking its internet access.

I wouldn’t consider myself a jigsaw puzzle player, but Super Jigsaw Puzzle scratches an itch I didn’t know I had (my 23 hours playtime tells me that).

It’s very satisfying to play a piece that fits, and then to complete a puzzle. Of course it’s not like playing a real jigsaw puzzle – for one thing, all of the pieces are in the correct orientation to begin with. But (unlike some other digital jigsaws I’ve played) the pieces ‘feel’ solid and chunky. They click into place when you find some that fit together, and there’s a pleasant ‘pling’ sound when you place them correctly on the board.

If you like jigsaws, this game is great value for money. There are 30 puzzles in 4 sizes - 40 pieces, 80 pieces, 200 pieces & 400 pieces. They’re divided into 6 difficulty levels from very easy to extreme. I’ve been playing it for weeks and I’m still not finished.

This game has two new features not in the previous games in the series. Puzzles now have up to 800 pieces. Also there is an option to rotate the pieces the right way up. Luckily you can turn this feature off if the puzzles get too difficult. It’s a shame that Steam doesn’t give Achievements for each individual puzzle like in the Cities and Monuments games though. I hope there will be more jigsaw games in the future. I think a wildlife theme would be a good idea.

It’s a unique auto generated game. Missons tend to be often very similar but there is always different glitches. A unique touch I saw was each auto generated game has it’s own little backstory for why your playing the “game” like every video game. The only glitch I see is with the flying mission which is if you try to barrell roll it doesnt work then u cant shoot and in shooting as planes sometimes if u die u never respawn/get the restart u should. Through the ramble I would say it’s a good time killer if you just want good casual fun to kill stress tho some of the hard mode glitches uggh lol I’d wait for a discount but like $15 vs th e current $20

I really wanted to like and recommend this game, but I cannot.

On the surface, the idea sounds great. Mix and match pieces of different retro games/genres and play through whatever wackiness gets created.

In reality, the game overall fails to deliver. Individual mashes take at most 10 minutes to play through, but rarely did I ever spend that much time in any one “game”. Instead, some are so easy (even on a hard setting) that you’re in and out in a matter of 30 seconds or less. The game description even calls out that some mash ups easy to win, some will be impossible. That’s acceptable given the premise.

I LOVE this game, it has a great artstyle, awesome weapons and enemies, and is it has an amazing replayability value.

I originally bought this game because my friend and I were bored and needed something to do, not knowing what I had gotten myself into. The game starts you out looking at a group of animals sitting on a couch together, but as soon as you get into the game you think to yourself, “Huh, this game looks pretty empty.” Then, five rounds later your like, “This game is too easy, give me a challenge.” and then the next round you are just killing some robots and then BAM you get kidnapped by a demon snowman that takes you into a corner and repeatedly beats the everliving shiz out of you. I have only played the game a little while now but holy crap this game is entertaining as heck and I still don’t understand why it isn’t more popular. Overall, I give it a 9/10, the only thing they could’ve done to make it better is to add some more gamemodes.

I stumbled across this game late one evening. I threw it on my wishlist and waited for it to release. I saw it came out a few days ago and decided “what the heck”. Man, am I glad I did. I absolutely adore Neighborhorde. I have to say, the looks, design, and overall aesthetic is fantastic. The cheery fun visuals and the 90’s toybox theme is wonderful. For 4.99 there is tons of content/replayability. Unlockable “hats” and levels as well as the “roguelike” in-run upgrade system have made it a staple already with my roomates. After we had played it for around an hour we already had the theme stuck in our heads. the controls are super tight too! I purposely go out of my way to buy couch coop games. I have a cooler master scout 2 case with a gtx 1070 that is perfect to take to parties. I have 4 wireless xbox one controllers and 4 wireless 360s. Steam couch coop games are always hits. For 4.99 this game is a total steal and totally worthy of being in my collection.
