The Solitaire Conspiracy

The Solitaire Conspiracy

Bithell? More like Bit heaven! Mike Bithell and his team have a genius where they can take something familiar and well worn (platformer, text adventure, stealth, er… John Wick?) and infuse it with so much character, intelligence, story and warmth that it’s the kind of art that changes you when you experience it.

Their treatment of solitaire may not kick you squarely in the feels like Thomas was Alone or the Circular games BUT it is a great game and has a great twist where the picture cards are characters with powers that alter the game. The short story is great and keeps you hooked until the end (I’ll say no more to keep this spoiler free) and then there are the modes you unlock play playing the campaign - this is what you’ll be playing tomorrow and after that. Countdown is a cool endless mode with a global leaderboard which is both exciting and addictive with that “just one more turn” quality to it. Skirmish mode lets you experiment with the different spy teams - analogous to the suits (clubs, hearts etc) except there are much more than four to choose from, each with their own unique abilities!

I’ve played a bunch of solitaire games on Steam, and while I can’t say The Solitaire Conspiracy is the most anything - not the most challenging, not the most creative, not the most innovative - it’s so well put-together as a package that I absolutely have to recommend it, and with a roadmap for even more content coming, it’s going to keep getting better.

The core of the game is simple; four suits scattered across a board. Move cards on the top of any given pile onto another one of higher value to reach what you need, try to build the suits in the centre from ace to king. You can see every card’s location from the very start, and consequently you won’t ever have to actually bank on RNG to save you. Every face card (jack, queen, king) has a special single-use ability determined by its suit, which you can use to get yourself out of a sticky situation. That’s it, that’s the game. From the first level to the last, regardless of difficulty, the basic rules of playing TSC will stay the same.

Hextones

Mentally stimulating yet relaxing game. It’s good! I was looking for a replacement for Ishido which I can no longer find for PC. Hextones retains the stone placing challenge that I love in Ishido but expands it. Each stone in Hextones has six instead of four sides. Learning new strategies after years of playing Ishido with only four sided stones is surprisingly fun. Hextones also has incremental challenges where you must get 6 sided, 5 sided, 4 sided, 3 sided and 2 sided correct placements to pass to the next tier. This is more difficult than just accumulating points. The music is hypnotically good. Well worth the price.

Futuristic Puzzle for a Good Price! This is similar to previous square grid “tile placing” games we’ve played, but this time it’s hexagons, and the scoring is a little different.

The music and visuals seem relaxing, just don’t get worried as you’re running out of space to place tiles!

(It would be cool to have more various play modes, including one that lets you remove some tokens from the board so you can play longer! Also, it’s nice to have multiple backgrounds and tile sets available, if possible.)

Logic Light

Logic Light

Logic Light is a 2D minimalist puzzle adventure game in which you must restore the electricity of the houses after a blackout, advancing through the levels by repairing circuits using your tools.

Drag available energy sources and tools onto the terrain and watch the energy flow, lighting up the town’s houses or lighting points and advance to the next level.

This game bring to us a new thing that i really loved

Now we can use our unconscious competence in a game mode with just 5s to act

So we can practice and learn without timer and put our brain in a tough test and see if our learnings are really deeply embedded

Great Game!!!

This game is so much better than the first one! The stellar archive is very cool and the soundtrack is awesome! The new time mechanic is no joke, you need to think fast, but the freeze time and swap commands help you get through it. The new options of hexgrids changed everything and the hardcore mode is for pros, but the classic, soothing mode is there too for the oldschoolers. Congratulations Nukearts! Keep up the good job!

Sky Journey - Jigsaw Landscapes

Sky Journey - Jigsaw Landscapes

Simple little jigsaw puzzle game that I actually found very addictive once I had started; playing this while listening to podcasts helped me to unwind and it distracted me from the existential dread of existence. Few minor bugs but nothing that halts progress. Great to play when you’re slumped in a heap and only want to exert the energy of moving one hand. Recommended.

In essence this is a puzzle game for the younger gamers.

The images are of the family friendly variety.

The art itself is not bad.

Several difficulty choices.

Music is alright.

Due to lack of puzzle “levels” I would only recommend on a steep discount. Got this game with a bundle myself.

As a challenge for myself, in progress of 100% the achievements as of posting of this review.
