Gladiators VR Tournament

Gladiators VR Tournament

FPS + Esport + VR

Available for Arcades on Springboard VR

Gladiator Tournament is an intuitive, fast-paced competitive VR shooter in which you take the role of mercenaries battling in a deathmatch arena.

You’ll fight across a colossal and vertiginous arena, teleporting from platform to platform and bullseyeing your opponents with different cool weapons.

Each intense round gives you five minutes to frag enemies and ramp up your score.

At the end of the fight the mercenary with the highest score is declared the best fighter in the arena!

Features:

  • High Octane Battle

Pick up your favourite weapons to hunt down your opponents and dominate the battle. The best mercenary fighter will be the one with the most accurate aim and sharpest decision-making.

  • 4 Players FFA Deathmatch

Players battle each other in a free-for-all deathmatch.

  • 1 Player Time Attack

Measure your skills against the series of time-attack challenges requiring marksmanship and reflexes. Try and try harder to get a chance to finally beat the developer record!

  • Unique Teleport System

In the Burning Descent, you teleport from platforms to platforms at a glance. Not only is it a unique way of moving in VR games, it makes it feel easy and natural to dash around the battlefield at lightning speed.

  • Body Movement

Stand out from other competitors by crouching, ducking and leaning out to become a harder target to reach and step up your combat intensity!

  • No motion sickness

The game was designed and polished with a scientific VR approach, reducing motion sickness to an absolute minimum, ensuring an optimal experience even for sensitive players.

Override 2: Super Mech League

Override 2: Super Mech League

Completely different game from the first.

the first game was like a test run not bad but needed more time to mature through the likes of a sequel and then we get override 2 a different game from the first in too many ways and just like the first it feels like it is a test run that needed more work before release both games are like tech demos… they are playable no bugs or glitches from what i can tell graphics are good (better in the first game) gameplay can be fun at times but mostly dull most fun is had with 2-4 player splitscreen especially because the game has no community but as long as you have friends/ family its a non issue however this game ditches the story mode that the first game had in place of a lazy league mode that tries to force online on you and since there is no community you wait for long periods of time for it to stop matchmaking (cant stop it unless you go offline on steam) to fight bots anyway. they also just straight took away customizations from the first game feeling like they are trying to add them later as paid dlc sleezy…. speaking of sleezy devs have a habit of releasing the game and dropping it after release they did it with the first and quickly did it with this one they are no where to be seen dont expect balance patches or qol gameplay changes to advance the game further.

Changes From Original Override

Super Mech League (SML) takes the entire game in a new direction. For the uninitiated and return players, I will outline the differences from my experience. I will try objectively list differences with my opinions on the changes listed separately. I would recommend both games, though SML provides more content and would be recommended first.

Gameplay/Combat

It is important to note that the fundamentals of fighting have changed since OG Override. In both games, each arm/punch and leg/kick was individually assigned to the shoulder and trigger buttons. This was a distinguishing feature in playing like a lumbering mech.

I am really hoping this game gets some basic upgrades to menus and controls for some spells. then get a larger community for this game and it would be golden.

No More Home

No More Home

Take part in the fight to defend your home!

Fragments of meteors have fallen and the Recyclers are there to exploit their composition. The problem is that they have no regard for the locals …

A completely open map

Fight all over town, prepare your approaches, or just go straight ahead. You are free to operate the city according to your needs.

The map is divided into several districts all connected to each other in one way or another. They will be released over time in future updates.

Strategy, or not

No More Home gives you the possibility to fulfill your mission in the way you like:

Remain discreet and achieve the goal without being spotted.

Hit and run, attack and fall back until a good opportunity to end it presents itself.

Or just think that the strategy is for the weak, and go for it with the biggest weaponry possible!

Choose your equipment carefully

Between each mission, plan what weapons and accessories you will take with you.

Your inventory is limited, and will influence the way you play. The more things you take with you, the more your movement will be affected.

But maybe you will choose to wear heavy protection? Or just play it very light and be able to run around.

Evolve your character

At the end of each mission, you will gain experience which you can spend on buying new weapons, new outfits, and new skills that will help you to go on increasingly difficult operations.

Overlanders

Overlanders

Video speaks more than any amount of words, so here’s my FIRST LOOK video on the game

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK1rQtTAwU8

However if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to watch the video, then here are few words about the game.

It’s arcade, fast paced action / combat racing with hovers. Even tho it doesn’t say it’s in early access, it sure feels like lot of content is missing / in progress, even the track builder says “under construction”.

So that said, game looks quite ok, but at this point there’s just not much to do. I completed all tracks in less than 2 hours and there’s nothing much to grind for, so it gets boring very fast. Also I did not see any players in multiplayer, I only got bots.

In this video I take a look at Overlanders a hover bike racing game where the leader gets to kill a monster.

The difficulty after the first few levels seemed to get too hard. Doesn’t really add anything new to the genre unless you like chasing monsters. Pity, I was looking forward to this one but it just didn’t deliver.

Watch the video to see what the game is like…..

Okay so, Despite the thumbs up there is a lot more to this.

In its current state I cannot recommend this game, depending on what you want from it.

It succeeds in one key aspect. being a party game. For the purpose of playing offline splitscreen with your mates this game is excellent. Through lack of arbitrary restrictions the combat is surprisingly deep if you decide to properly explore it.

Fundamentally this game is fantastic.

However, when it leaves the realm of split screen this game starts falling flat on almost every aspect.

I’m teetering on recommending this and telling people to flee for their lives until a few updates hit to smooth things over, and that actually punches me in the gut. It’s actually depressing that something that came off as incredibly fun during the beta is leaving me so on edge after release.

To start, the game is just as fun as you’d imagine a giant robot brawler to be. Hits actually feel like hits. When you connect with a charged attack or a nice meaty special, it feels good. The issue here is the hit detection at times. Direct hits will at times just phase through the target with no explanation, and certain moves shift the hitboxes around in the wonkiest ways.

I first saw this game at PAX East 2019 and loved the few minutes I played of it. I’m not an over ambitious gamer so I didn’t opt for “old school” hard mode. The difficulty was perfect for me and I enjoyed taking the weekend to play it. This game is too new and too indie to have any guides but there is a a drone you can get to help you find all the hidden items if you get stuck. The music is great and the art aesthetic is awesome. They avoid having the numerous baddies feel repetitive by offering several different designs of the same style bad guy/gal. Can’t wait to see what else this group makes!

** Disclaimer: I was a Kickstarter backer. **

This was a really fun Zelda-like beat-em-up! The game has a lot to explore, a lot to fight, and a bunch of puzzles on the easy-to-moderate difficulty side. It looks great, really living up to its namesake, and it also sounds great with every area and boss getting their own tune! The story isn’t particularly in-depth or surprising, but every gang leader has their own little story, making them seem somewhat relatable. English obviously isn’t the developer’s first language, but I don’t feel it ever got in the way of the story or quests. I mostly just corrected the grammar in my mind and moved on.

The Armament Project

The Armament Project

A fun Indie FPS! I recommend it.

Real player with 1.1 hrs in game

The Armament Project is a cool throwback to 90s FPS in style, substance, and inspiration. Armament offers a level based design (3 levels) in the vein of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, but with the subtle maze-like structure of Quake. Likewise, Armament offers a nod to actions films like Terminator and Aliens (which inspired early FPS). But instead of aliens, machines, or Nazis, Armament offers a battle through a prison in the context of a dystopian society and government class wars.

Though brief, the game is a fun little FPS experience. I like the storyline (I’m biased in enjoying a deeper story to my FPS), but the story is a little too complex for a shorter game. I think such nuanced storytelling will prove useful as DYS Top builds more complex games.
