Solitaire Forever II

Solitaire Forever II

Very solid replacement for the Microsoft Solitaire suite, particularly after Microsoft started blaring loud ads in between games. Impressed that this game doesn’t have any ads, because it’s free to play, so I would be fine with banner ads in the game or non-audio based ads that can’t be turned off (looking at you, Gates). A little needlessly flashy in animation and stuff, but they didn’t sacrifice substance to do it. All in all, if you want to play Solitaire, this app will let you do it without any bull.

Highly recommended - best solitaire I have ever played, hands down. It looks gorgeous and it’s fun to play with pleasant animations and very rewarding fireworks show if you win a game. The rules are accurate and easy to follow even for someone not very familiar with solitaire games. There are multiple customization options, from the messiness of the card rows to the colors and shapes. There are ready made themes to choose from, too. And if you’re willing to pay a small amount, you get hundreds of additional game variations to play.

Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations

Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations

I’ve tried other jigsaw games here on Steam, and Super Jigsaw Puzzle Generations is hands down my favorite. If you’re a puzzle-lover, you won’t be disappointed. I like the selection of free puzzles and how you can get every achievement on just the free, but I’ve also purchased 3 dlc sets (at the time of this writing: Fruits, Kittens, and Sunsets) and looking to purchase more in the future. I like how I can select the number of pieces it takes to fully assemble each and every puzzle (60, 200, 400, or 800), which allows me to play according to however I feel at the time. The UI is nice and clean, and recently a number of really good quality of life features have been added, one of which completely negates the one thing I might have complained about… I.e. you can opt to one-click drag a piece instead of click-holding to drag a piece – at one point I was playing this game for such long periods that my carpal tunnel was beginning to act up, and it’s nice not having to worry that will ever be an issue. And… is it weird that I really love how the mouse cursor disappears when holding a piece? I get really annoyed in the other jigsaw games where the cursor obscures a piece that I’m trying to match to other pieces. Trust me, if you’re doing an 800-pc, you’ll like being able to examine every bit of it. In short, get this game. Purchase the DLC sets. Support the devs and your jigsaw habit.

I wish there were a “meh” review option. This is a functional jigsaw puzzle game. I have played worse. I have played better. The snapping of the pieces is fine, above average even as it allows you to change the distance to when it will snap. The ease of moving pieces is ok, really just exactly average. The side box/extra space is ok, if a bit small, and slightly cumbersome as you can’t see them all laid out at the same time.

There is a major flaw in the game imo. The rendering of the pieces happens before they are rotated and scattered, this causes two issues. You can see the shine on the sides of the pieces and know instantly which way the piece should be orientated. And it is basically useless to zoom in as the image just pixelates; it straight up just gets bigger, not clearer.

A free game without any hooks? That’s always nice!

Zachtronics incorporates solitaire variants in some of their games (I know of Exapunks and Eliza), and they kept me playing for a couple of hours. Very interesting this multiplayer version, however you can only play friends for now.

You can play solo, but the variants inside their games are better.

This one has a few announcements when you lay your aces, and hey… free!!!

EDIT: I saw a friend playing and quickly hopped on! Pretty hectic! There is lots of information to monitor, combined with cunning reflexes to cut other players off!

Kitrinos: Inside the Cube

Kitrinos: Inside the Cube

Kitrinos: Inside the Cube is a mouse only puzzle game that radiates science fiction retrofuturism with a clear influence of Kubricks 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s predominantly an artistic game with a handful of well thought out puzzles and a story told in short cutscenes and text.

This game piles up retrofuturistic art design with 3D models reminiscent of early 2000’s adventure games and surreal, alien environments. Aside from this conglomeration of distinguished visuals, the music is as if tailor-made. It’s strikingly well composed and adds in equal measure to the strange and captivating atmosphere.

I tend to avoid puzzle games like it’s the meaning of my life but I had to stray off that path, simply for the artwork.

It was worth it even though I didn’t manage to solve the final puzzle. The art direction fits in perfectly with the soundtrack and the ideology of the game, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

Tip: The developer has left hints and solutions to the puzzles in the community hub disscusions.

100% garbage game. POS.

The best summary of this game is that there’s a button on the title screen that says “Immediate Start”; I click on it and nothing happens.

Generally sluggish and weird. Starts with a very long loading screen, and then to actually play a game I had to wait for more loading (meeting all minimum specs and then some). The English text is so confusing I had to guess at what I was doing. It’s a pity because I quite liked the aesthetic of it.

Zombie Solitaire

Zombie Solitaire

Everyone knows what Solitaire is. We all know it can be played for free at any time. Reason most of us buy solitaire games is because we expect a bit more than the regular game that we’re used to.

Zombie Solitaire seems to try and give us that but falls very short. Unlike original Solitaire, you can move in any direction and your colour suit doesn’t matter, which ends up making the game pretty easy. In between different escape stages, you solve a point and click ‘puzzle’ (if it can even be called that) which never takes more than a few seconds. You’ll start getting bored on the first chapter and because the game doesn’t offer any challenge, regardless of your progression, that’s how you’ll feel the rest of the game.

Real player with 14.7 hrs in game

zombie solitaire is not a terrible game. you get your standard solitaire gameplay with a zombie theme and good enough artwork, there are even point & click sections, albeit very basic ones, before entering each area, and there are 103 levels to play through, so you should be entertained for a few hours. or you would be if it weren’t for a few issues.

Zombie Solitaire 2 Chapter 1

Zombie Solitaire 2 Chapter 1

I bought all three chapters of ZS bundled on a whim, and so far I’m glad I did. Just finished Ch. 1 and had a good time playing it. I will say that there are a few levels where cards get stuck on the board and cannot be removed unless using the rifle to shoot them off. At other times a card will get stuck and not come off until a later play. This seemed to happen more often in the higher levels. I liked the power ups and found I used the Joker and the rifle more than anything. It was like Christmas when those would come hidden under cards.

Match 3 levels are not balanced at all, last match 3 level is almost impossible to pass with 3 stars due lack of moves vs zombie’s requirements. Developer promised to fix this issue 4 years ago, with sweety words while he needed attract players to buy chapter 2 and 3, but then he just abandoned all games leaving this “bugs” unsolved. This is very immature and mean step from his side and that’s why he is receiving negative review from me. Game was kinda cute and I liked it, but this unbalance annoyed me whole the time I spent in match 3 levels. Hopefully next chapters will be better balanced… 😡

A truly beautiful game, very in-depth and engaging story with lovable characters you can relate to. I’m addicted to this game, which I say somewhat lightheartedly. If we’re being honest, I haven’t slept because of this game (its just that good!!). Beautiful soundtrack and sound design as well, sometimes I leave the game running in the background while working just to listen to it. Visuals are somewhat lacking, however this game does include wonderful color schemes. This game truly changed me as a person, and I’m so grateful that it’s free. This game kept me from relapsing and ruining my 400+ day streak, please download.

The controls need some work, but otherwise this is a pretty solid time waster. There are no instructions, but it’s simple enough, you’ll figure it out.

It shouldn’t be marked puzzle, it’s just a match-up game. There is no actual puzzle involved.
