UNDEAD FACTORY:Zombie Pandemic
Editing again:
-seems like crashes have been fixed;
-“time warps” are over; servers now working normally.
[Editing this review due to serious flaws]:
-this PC port crashes too often, especially if you decide to help your guildmates (100% of the time);
-“time warps” mean you’ll waste your time attacking, recruiting and building, just to find out your account went “back in time” with little to no progress;
-on top of all that, buildings have simply disappeared and “server is busy”.

For a F2P indie zombie game, you could do a lot worse.
The graphics are fine for a bird’s view RTS, and the battles are bloody and fun.
Seems like there are a ton of single player bases to destroy, on top of multi-player
I like how you USE zombies to take down other players, as opposed to the other way around. Neat little idea.
Cool little title with a zombie apocalypse twist for anyone tired of the medieval-themed castle stuff.
I enjoyed the theme of apocalyptic survival as opposed to the over-used knights and swords trope.

Art of War: Red Tides
TL/DR at bottom.
First off I want to say that I have been the only Steam moderator for the game since April 2017, I am quite confident that this allows me to have a particular point of view that cannot be shared by most of the other reviewers.
This is yet another dev team on Steam that only wanted our money and does not deliver on their side of the deal. it saddens me A GREAT DEAL to see things devolve into this but I have to speak up here in the reviews as my speaking up in the past 6 months directly to the devs, with the backing of some of the community members (most often the high-ranked ones), did not yield any results. We have received numerous corporate replies to our questions that did not answer a single one of our worries only to see the game reach new lows in terms of player population as a result. If nothing is said, this game will be dead on Steam within 6 months and it’s out of the love that I have (or I should say “once had”) that I write this review, in hopes that the devs will finally wake up and understand what they are losing.

Ok, so at the time of writing this I have 166 hrs on record. Updated After about 265 hours and top ranked 1vs1 player. (Which they removed 1vs1 Ranked because it showed the imbalances in their game and they didn’t want to fix it).
First off, in beta, this was probably the most addicting fun, and strategic game that I have played in a long time. It is a Private map from SC2 turned into a full game. They had done such a great job in created multiple varieties of units and each of the 3 races had a “feel” to them. A play style if you will. This was the one game I just couldn’t wait for release.

Empires Apart
Do not buy this game. I’ve played Empires Apart for over 140 hours and been a loyal supporter of the game since it was just concept art. At every given opportunity I was there to help. I playtested the game throughout development, but ultimately I saw Empires Apart grow into something I cannot recommend to anyone. I am incredibly disappointed in how this game turned out and how unprofessional the developers have been to the community. This game is a buggy, incomplete, rushed, border-line unplayable mess of an RTS game that broke the many promises it made to its loyal Alpha and Beta testers. If you’re looking for an Early Access game with almost no Single Player and absolutely no playerbase for Multiplayer, then that’s unfortunately Empires Apart.

Quick verstion:
Fast paced AoE like RTS with more competitive playability.
Not quite finished but devs are active and i have my hopes up.
New Review of the Free to Play version:
First of all im almost satisfied that i dont get totally fucked for buying this game in the first place, even tho i got plents of the DLC civs (already existing before), i am missing one, which i dont like that much since i still have a feeling i paid enough already, but its OK.
The gameplay so far is pretty nice, the costumisations they added also make it a little more fun, all this stuff they put in all new games was added, but its not changing the gameplay.

Intruder Alert: Ixian Operations
This is a free to play RTS, where one is able to play as six different races, each with their own unique playstyle. Overall I’d recommend this game to people who like RTS style games with a hint of difficulty. Sure the campaign could use some work, but like I said it is a free to play game made by Frudelsoft. This is the only Frudelsof game on the market and I’d argue that it is still young and has great potential. The game is updated here and there, and the developer(s) listen to the people. In the update logs, you can see them putting out a pole to see what people want, do, and like about the game. I honestly love the game and its great for those wanting a good RTS, but doesn’t want to pay for it.

Kingdom Wars
MUST READ BEFORE YOU PLAY:
There are a few things i think people should know about before playing this game.I bought kingdom wars before it was a f2p game and have had two maxed out citys with high lvl hero’s and have spent money on the game beyond just buying it pre f2p.This is my honest review about what i know of the game.
BUGS! Be prepared to lose resorces for winning pvp matches.That’s right you lose for winning! If a person trys to fight you and you accept and then he pays you to flee battle you get a win and maybe a little gold from the payout BUT you will lose 5k food 5k wood and 5k stone from your towns resorce stash which varries depending on what your stash has in it but that was my last loss to this bug. Not only do you lose for winning a pvp match in this manner you don’t recieve the crowns for the win that you are supposed to get for winning.The only way to avoid this bug is to fight until the game tells you you won or lost.

Dawn of Fantasy: Kingdom Wars
Update: 4 years later - This game is still fun but you definitely need a friend. The playerbase is extremely low leaving much to be desired on the PvP and COOP aspects. You can still solo the online campaign but it won’t ne as enjoyable. It also helps a ton if you are the same faction as your friend. This allows you to group up MUCH easier as you have to share the same army str. My original review still stand, I just edited some mistakes from a less educated me.
Hello! Let me start by saying this. I wanted a game that I could command large masses of troops to attack strongholds. After searching EVERYWHERE I found this. This game exactly fit my needs! Now I am going to let aside my desire for games like this for the rest of the review to keep it unbiased.

Minion Masters
Let me start by saying that this game is so rigged, manipulative and can be dangerous to people with gambling problems or really bad O. C. D. so, people with less self-control should not be playing this game in my honest opinion.
You can play solo in 1v1, with random people in 2v2 Team Battle, with a friend in a Premade Team Battle, in Guild Premade Battle or create custom matches. You can also purchase Adventures to play against AIs that try too hard to make you feel like the game has a story. You can always Challenge same bots to try out different decks and your new experiments before playing against real players. I must say that this game is not Pay-to-Win in any way as of now, which is great but I did spend a lot of money on it, mostly for cosmetics.

Early Access V 0.9.1
Before we start I got a game key for free during alpha but since Early access I bought the premium upgrade at the same price as all new players since early access launch because currently premium upgrade includes in all new purchases.
The game revolves in the Forced universe. Betadwarf has made two prior games, Forced and Forced Showdown. I have played extensivly Forced Showdown and had alot of fun with it. WIth that in mind I had very high hopes for betadwarfs third game, Minion Masters.

EDIT:Did I mention that a lot of the game (80%)’s players are all Russian? Just a warning, if you don’t speak Russian you won’t make any big progress in this game.
This game started out good, It had great graphics, it had some-what pleasing gameplay, it had some interesting features in it…
But then the logic killed it, and the money whoring…
There is already a gate in my city…but I need to RESEARCH a gate key just to open the damn gate?! This is just one of the many illogical things I have found in this game…

Warzone 2100
Old school RTS. Somewhat limited due to the old UI, archaic controls, and limited mission parameters (that were sometimes in place to keep the game within the performance capacity available at the time). BUT! despite all that. This is the game that kept me into RTS games during a helluva long dry spell LOL. Dune on Genesis caught me first. Then this and the Command and Conquer games. I’ve played so much Stellaris it isn’t even a game anymore. it’s an empire simulator. But i still love this game. a lot!

For a game more then 20 years old it is still awesome. I first played this on Play Station 1 and after a few years I found a pirated copy online and still play it. Because it is 20 years old there are some AI issues with pathing but nothing that cant be remidied by changing your click and forget playstyle.
My biggest selling point on this game is something that ALL RTS games should have… a “seemless campane” meaning the defences AND units you build are used for ALL future missions. There are a number of customization options and stratagies you can choose from even in single player matches vs the PC.

Zero-K
When I came to Zero-K a few years back, I thought it was just another TA clone with improved graphics. It turns out that I have a weird taste for RTS graphics and Zero-K’s graphics supposedly suck. Either way, this game is about depth if anything. I’ve played over 5000 matches, yet there are still strategies and tricks to explore.
I’m mostly a fan of competitive play, so this is what this review focuses on.
Comparing ZK to other strategy games, you’ll notice that it has a lot less rules. While there is a very basic economy that needs to be carefully maintained for competitive play, there are hardly any “wrong” openings. In the early game it’s very important to scout your opponent’s opening and react accordingly, as games can be decided very quickly. This phase demands good micro and APM to make the most out of the few units you have.

Completely ripping out my old review on this game for a new one. Into the rabbithole we go!
I would say, as a TL;DR right out the gate, that this is hands-down, the best RTS I have ever played for coop and campaign content.
The amount of content in this singleplayer/coop campaign is MASSIVE. Hours upon hours upon hours of content for most players. While speeding through it is entirely possible, it’s usually not how new players explore the game.
Additionally, the actual tactical diversity, choice, exploration, and creativity of the game’s mechanics is unparalleled by any RTS I have ever played. Easily.
