Honestly, all i can say is that you NEED to play this game! I don’t want to spoil it for you guys, but this was quite a journey for the 6.7 hours i did. (haha yeah i know it took a long time for me to complete it, i tried my best to explore EVERYTHING) This game has such great lore, and characters, even character design! I don’t understand why this isn’t popular, its sad isn’t it? Such a good game for it NOT to be popular, and only to have the smallest fanbase. Yes this game is very dark at some moments, but it is also very cute. I also liked how you added yourself in the game in the club/bar. You know what i mean. I really do wish i knew french, so i can listen to the main song, and now what it means 3 After beating this game without counting me crying, or actually needed to take a few minutes to calm down and think, i was in awe. This game is so similar to OFF and kinda has the same motive if you would like to think like that? I wouldn’t say its related to Undertale AT ALL, unless you want to count the goal of this game, to get up onto the overworld. Every area is different, about special in it’s own way. I also love how you actually don’t level up in this game, as far as i know from me playing out. Its quite funny if you ask me. This game was such a treat, and worth the tears i shed for the amazing ending. I cant wait to see more games from you!

Love this game so much! I’ll be honest, since it’s free, I wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary. But the story is engaging and easy to follow, the worldbuilding really draws you in, and the atmosphere is amazing - both the artstyle of the characters and the awesome noise rock & acoustic soundtrack really give the game the kick it needs. Not sure if there will actually be two endings

! (join Neethan or not) but if there are I’d be more than willing to play it several times over.

Soda Dungeon 2

Soda Dungeon 2

I was an enormous fan of the original Soda Dungeon and have been eagerly awaiting this release for years. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. The gameplay was pretty much cloned from the original with little innovation. Many of the classes are completely identical. The items are highly uninspired. The prestige system to reach the endgame is excessive and became unenjoyable after the first 5 times. The endgame itself had just a couple of new items that had extremely little impact.

I would say this feels much more like an alpha version of the game, not even a beta. It has the skeleton of something terrific, but it’s so far from achieving that.

I would absolutely recommend this game. As with all idle games, I expected to spend some time on it, but not as much as I did. This game is very fun, rewarding, and addicting. I would recommend buying some bottle caps to get the time clock upgrade (you’ll see what I mean when you download it). This makes the game go much faster (some could say twice as fast). After you go through the first ten dimensions, the game gets a little boring. It’s mostly letting it run on your PC for 4-5 hours while you play or do something else. This was a great game for me, being in college. I could set it up, go to a college class, and come back and the game would be still running. I just received the final achievement now, so I figured I would give the game a review. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes idle games. This has been my favorite one to date, and I hope that they come out with updates or a sequel. Thank you.

永冻之壳 The Shell of Permafrost

永冻之壳 The Shell of Permafrost

Coincidently came across this game right after the English release. I LOVED it!

Especially since:

  • I make RPG Maker games with unconventional themes/systems myself (I never finish anything, though… -_-')

  • This didn’t use too many default assets.

  • This was free. :)

Visuals

  • Wonderful 16-bit sprites.

  • Nice character busts with different emotions.

  • Great visual storytelling.

  • THAT MENU!!! BEAUTIFUL! O.O

  • The house’s front door is off-centre, which I found annoying.

Audio

  • Well-fitting music box music.

Game takes about 1 hour? I played this more because I’m noting down the chinese translation for my own purposes(this game has a chinese and english version).

So first of all, the quick time events are, well, quick. But you’ll get used to them and you can always reload to your previous saves(I did this for an achievement). You also get multiple tries for them. Besides the QTEs and finding items the other main part of the game(and the biggest part) is the plot.

I think the plot is nice. The character has lost(or rather locked up) their memories of the past but reminders of them are present in their new life. I was slightly interested in the MC’s past and the other characters relating to her. Plot makes sense and I understand the characters. I also like the art and think the translations are well done. 8 / 10

Dinner boy achievement and easy way to fly through all the dimensions

  1. DInner boy ls exactly a soda junkie but with the name dinner boy. The only way to get him to appear is to upgrade your stools and tables until the tables have food and THEN (very important) turn off auto equip and start refresh taverns until he appears (He only appears at a table with food but so will a normal soda junkie so you will have to look at the name)

P.S. This next tip is my own of what happened with me and it is quite long sorry about that. Also i am very new to steam and have no friends dont even know where to make some so any advice?

As a Clicker Fan, This is Right Up My Alley

Simple to learn, but deep enough to get into

I’ve long since been a fan of clicker/idle type games. My first adventure into this genre was with Clicker Heroes, which is still a shining example of the genre. Having played that game for well over 2000 hours, I’m always on the lookout for another idle game that I can open up and let play on its own.

Soday Dungeon doesn’t disappoint.

The basic mechanic is pretty simple, buy heores, let them do the dungeons for you. You can play it move by move, if you’d like to, and there is certainly an advantage to hand picking each of your moves, to advance to the next round. The thing is, I’m the kind of player who’s just too busy to sit at the computer and play round after round of games. I much prefer being able to set it up, then come back to it a while later and see what I’ve earned.

Confess My Love

There are awesome games, maybe published years ago, with two reviews on Steam.

And then there are games like this one that have 3.000 reviews.

I think that everything revolves around some kind of Japanese fanboyism.. like, similarity with manga and anime.. fandoms.. forums.. I don’t know xD

This game though is definitely good, I’m replaying it for another time these days and I thought it was worthy of a nice review.

(It happens that the 95% of the reviews are actually written in Chinese XD)

Even though it isn’t the usual visual novel.

I highly recommend this game! It’s free to play, with multiple endings; you will get the most out of this experience if you play it all in one sitting. Although the concept is really nothing new (a tale of unrequited love and the anguish it can cause), the game presents this concept in a unique way. I would love to see this game expanded upon because it really leaves you wanting more.

The sprites are adorable and the sound/music really helps set the tone. The writing, despite a few grammar errors here and there, is simple but adds realism in the dialogue between characters (and the inner thoughts of the main character). The humor is a nice touch, which juxtaposes very well with more disturbing elements later on. This game doesn’t rely on blood or jumpscares to frighten you. The sense of fear is cumulative; like a chill slowly running up your spine which gradually increases as the game progresses. If I had to compare it to another game, I would say it reminded me of “Hello?…Hell…o?”

Nick Beard: The Fedora of Destiny

Nick Beard: The Fedora of Destiny

The chaotic and restated autonomy exaggerates the opposing, imperceptive hero. Heroes verbalise the resonance to oscillate, while the sensational river affirms and transgresses the heterogeneous and poststructuralistic stress ratio. The ability to initiate of that map shows the manner in which the project of it is sabotaged. This identical hero allegorises and outlines assembles and correlations to permute a specificity of formalistic motives in a vague, provisory contact skills.

Truly a masterpiece.

At first glance you may think that this is a terrable game, not worth any praise at all. That my friends is simply untrue, while it may be thrown together with already created assets so was majora’s mask and that game was a major sucess. Under the gritty unclean surface of this game there is truly something to behold, especially the persue of getting 100% in all achievements. The final thing I ahve to say is how the creator made the totally nothing DLC so you dont have to buy the game to experience it, but you still ahve the option to support the creator. I hope he continues to make good titles and grow in his developing career.

It is really funny to read cry babies upset because of the Welcome Gift “Issue” when, in their playtime, most of them didn’t even spend 1 hour ingame xD

I’ve been playing this game since it was still only in japanese for mobile devices.

The game is awesome!

Not just because it has lots of japanese famous voice actors/actresses involved, the characters design and simple gameplay gives you a unique and smooth experience through Japan’s folklore creatures and beliefs.

It lets you immerse in their culture in a way other games haven’t succeed to do.

Ignore the time played - I’ve played many hours of this game on Facebook Gameroom and Android prior to this review.

Yes, this is a mobile game port with microtransactions, and that in and of itself will drive some players away, but as a primarily free to play player myself in these sorts of games, I can say that it is actually fairly friendly to players who don’t want to spend money.

Yes, there is a gacha system when summoning units, but a lot of Rare units are better than Super Rare units, and plenty of Super Rare units are better than Super Super Rares. It’s interesting, but in my experience it has been easy for any player to make a well rounded team with whatever units they do get, even if their RNG isn’t great.

Anarchy Online

Anarchy Online

I would definitely recomended this game, i used to play AO back in the days when it was freshly out etc i ended up playing for a lot longer than anticipated and have recently returned.

Over the years gaming has changed an awful lot, i have played almost all of the MMOs out there both old and new, but i have to say that AO is my favourite, i like the complexity the time it takes to do things and the mathematics to working out how i’m going to get those high level imps on at low level in order to equip my new belts, ncus, armour/weapons and ofcourse imps, the thing most people don’t seem to be aware of with AO is that the twinking aspect of it is extremely complex. Unlike other MMOs most bits you will find in AO are not level locked, like in WOW for example say your twinking at level 30 you can only equip “from level 30” items, however on AO you do not have this limit so all depending how good you are at maths and how willing you are to devote time to your toons you can make extraordinary twinks (which i love!).

Review Notes:

I played on the Steam client for 37.4 hrs, until I downloaded the New Engine from the Anarchy Online website. The New Engine is now my primary engine but it doesn’t count toward my steam hours. That said, I have about 100 hours in this game as of writing this review.

General Game Review:

I’ve never played an MMO that was so complex. If I had known of this game when it came out, I would have been playing it all along. However, I only learned about this game this year (2019).

STORY:

A classic adventure fairy tail genre with a bodygaurd called Tama who is the main character and a princess called Koko romance, Koko is then slain and Tama defies gods in search of the taboo powers of necromancy to bring her back from the dead!! Its heartfelt and is driven by a sense of loss and desperation of Tama.

really good so far….

GAME PLAY:

Classic top down 32bit multiplayer player dungeon crawler, with slick animations and design. FUN FOR ALL AGES.

The room genration is random, so it always feels fresh which is great for replayablity factor.

TL;DR

I really enjoyed the content so far. I’m actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Overall, It’s a fun romp to jump in and out of. Casual yet demanding. Just the way I like it. I’m looking forward to the main game and new monsters. I can imagine the difficulty will increase as you progress which is both scary and exciting.

I don’t understand why some of the bad reviews are complaining about it being stiff or slow in terms of combat. It has a particular style that requires some thought, management and timing of when and how to use monsters and combos, but that quickly becomes second nature after 10-20 minutes in.

Eldevin

Eldevin

This is a indie MMORPG that has been around 8 years in the making. It has launched in November 2013. For a small team of artists, programmers and developers, they have done an amazing job with the game.

What I like about Eldevin:

You start off as your character - and Eldevin has a classless system, so you can choose/switch what class you’d like to be - from Warrior, Templar, Assassian, Ranger, Mage, Prophet or even a mixture. You gain talent points every time you level, and you can use those talent points in the tree of the class you wish to use. You also obtain points to increase your health, melee, mage, range etc.

I do not recommend this game because it has deteriorated into vanity updates for money. Mainly with half baked releases of content, such as a barely there guild system. Their development cycle for any content is massive and hunted cow studios interaction with the community is very limited.

A lot of the player base left for numerous reasons and when they first released on steam their population increased due to curious people. This did not last and they rapidly lost the new people who checked the game out. Getting dungeons on the small player base is very hard. On average you are talking 100 odd players over 3 servers and they are mainly the hardcore holdouts that are left hoping. They use a lot of asset reskins to put out vanity. This game if you were to play, get to know the small pop and hope to find someone willing to let you tag along on dungeons.
