Audition Online

Audition Online

Since I have been playing this game on and off for about 10 years now and having spend lots and lots of hours in it, I should give it my honest review.

The game is, especially for beginners, tough to learn, due to not many in game help or tutorials (there is only a small page describing the modes in a help tab). The community on this server mostly consist of old Audition Veterans who are still playing the game out of nostalgic reason, immature young people who act like “internet heroes” and people who uses Audition to be afk or just chatting, there for most rooms are private rooms or afk rooms, which doesn’t do the game any favour, because if you really want to dance you most likely have to open your own room and hope that someone actually wants to play with you. The game can also be very demotivating if you play with people who are very good at this game, because of the perfing system (every 2 perfs you can chain in a row gives your enemy a “red face” and if he doesn’t perf while “red faced” he doesn’t get any points).

I know some reviews for this game were because people want to get money from RedBana apprently XD but this one is not for anything like that just a normal review :) Pretty long one so don’t feel the need you have to read it all unless your really interested in this game XD

I had never heard of Audition Online until it hit steam, since then i have been hooked to this game and gotten to love it! :D In this game, you press a number of arrows and press space once a red circle goes into the white area of the bar, this is just the main mode but there are many other way to play such as: 8keys,a guitar hero type mode where you prsss ZXCV and shift and much more! As far as other modes go there are: normal individual, team battles, Club Dance (couple dance), Block Beat (dance in teams of 2), 1-2 mode where you memorise a sequence and reapeat it and more too! :D

Neon Beats

Neon Beats

To put it plainly: I love this game so much. As a person who likes electonic music, the music for each level is excellent (level 2 is my favorite so far- the multiple beat drops are amazing). The controls are very simple, just left, right, and jump. I love the addition of the music notes on each level which, though they are not required, enhance the song with every one you get. Each one adds a new instrument/beat, which is plenty motivation for me to search for them.

The levels are a good difficulty, as well. You die like 50 times on your first playthrough of the later levels, but once you have figured out the map a bit more they become very fun to play through just to hear the songs. Dying only sets you back a few seconds in the song, and is not shoved in your face at all. You simply disappear and reappear, no flashing lights or harsh sounds. If only a soundtrack were released! The songs are around 2.5-3.5 minutes long when you go through them quickly, so if you just want to pop on real fast to play a level you totally can.

I’m not a big fan of 2D games, but this one right here, a masterpiece 3 , but there is some things i would like to recommend the developpers to focus on :

1- Add more free levels , I know you guys have 2 dlc for 1.99$ but still it’s not enough even if you buy the dlc.

2- Let the community create levels and share them in the workshop ,so other players will be able to download them and play them.

3- Add a multiplayer option, as an example 4 players party and the first one to arrive is the one who wins.

Quaver

Quaver

for people new to vsrgs (vertical scrolling rhythm games):

while there is no tutorial to get your started, you’ll still have the best dive into vsrgs with quaver. the ui is the best across all alternatives and friendly for everyone to use. including stuff like an ingame download menu and multiplayer makes it appealing.

there is an initial learning curve when you get into it, but once you’re over it (around 1 rating maps) you’ll have the blast of your life (this is not exclusive to quaver). the thing that keeps you hooked is your constant improvement the large amount of content (provided by the community). the exhilerating feeling when you can A rank something you could barely even pass just a few days prior is the best feeling you can have in this game. its very easy to track progress, because the game concept is so simple and the conditions are always the same, so you can always look back at how you far youve come.

TLDR: Quaver is two steps forward and one large step back. It’s still worth your time if you can’t stomach Etterna’s UI.

As someone who’s been playing VSRGs for the better part of five years and with over a thousand hours spread out between Osu!mania, Etterna, and Quaver, I can confidently say that Quaver gets a lot right. In its attempt to combine the best of Etterna and Osu!mania, however, it somehow grabbed some of the worst of both.

Rating system and Ranked Charts: The rating system in Quaver is almost a cruel mirror of Osu!mania’s but instead of jumptrill being heavily overweighted, its chordjacks. Most of the highest level charts are one of three narrow types, most frequently chordjack. This alone wouldn’t be the biggest issue, but with the next issue, it becomes truly awful. Ranked charts rarely deviate from electronic music, and while most might expect something like that coming in from Osu!mania where most ranked charts are from a handful of metal artists, happy hardcore remixes, nightcore, or Camellia; Anyone coming from something like Etterna or FFR will face the unfortunate reality of hearing the same type of music while playing the same type of pattern for most of Ranked play. One thing I wish the dev’s would include is the option to download songs in pack form akin to Etterna as opposed to individual files, as the organization has to be done by the player.

Time Leap Paradise SUPER LIVE!

Time Leap Paradise SUPER LIVE!

This 3D simulation concert and PC benchmarking tool features 1 anime girl and 2 girls as backup dancers singing and dancing with a choice of 2 Japanese songs with vocals and lyrics in the free to play base game. With the Encore Pack DLC, it features up to 5 anime girls with further customization options to feature any of them in a solo concert or group dance concert of 3 characters, 10 additional songs and additional costumes and headgear with fanservice. The frames per second(FPS) counter and score given to your computer will be shown while playing and at the end of each concert performance.

Real player with 3.8 hrs in game

Time Leap Paradise SUPER LIVE! is a simple in which you pick a character and back-up dancers, their outfits, the music and backgrounds and then leave them to dance.

Pros:

-Cute characters and dances on offer.

-It’s free

Cons:

-No real point to it, gets boring rather fast as there is no objective in mind and a limited set of characters, songs, etc without buying the rather costly DLC.

Overall, if want to watch an anime character dance for free, go for it. Otherwise rather save yourself the download.

ABC: Audioreactive Beat Circle

ABC: Audioreactive Beat Circle

This is a great game, I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys rhythm and/or puzzle games. There are 5 levels in the main game (not DLC), and they are all a ton of fun. The best part about ABC is that you can play the game to your own music, creating infinite replayability, and the ability to essentially control the difficulty/speed. Definitely a must-play if you enjoy music and rhythm games.

Elliot and the Musical Journey

Elliot and the Musical Journey

the controls felt buggy, most of the game play felt boring, the last boss was annoying but got there in the end with 1 heart remaining, double jumps felt like it didn’t work most of the time, wouldn’t recommend re-playing that again.

Real player with 3.4 hrs in game

I am on the fence with this game. I will outline my points.

Pros:

  • Has original art

  • Quite easy controls

  • Lovely music

  • Easy to learn game loop

Cons:

  • Jump (or double jump) not always get recognized which is quite annoying

  • DJBonehad boss is easy but the lasers spot you even from outside the light

  • when you lose all hearts you need to restart the level

  • you can’t record the musical notes order (not big deal) but is inconvenient

Overall is a nice FREE indie game that you will enjoy if you are into platformers

LoveBeat

LoveBeat

[14/10/2019] The game itself is still fun but I would give this a neutral review now in its current state, would reccomend playing with friends as the community is mostly philippines/spanish and russian these days who tend to stick to their own groups so unless you speak one of those languages, you can’t make friends really, many of them can also be ill mannered on here (having had many issues with them myself) very few here who are ok now. Having played the game since 13 January 2016 (release date) can definitely say its not the same as it used to be which is a real shame as I have had many fun times on here and met friends that I was very glad to of met.

Long review incoming.

Lovebeat, affectionately known as LB, is a rhythm game where you use your arrow keys and space bar on your keyboard. It also has DDR mat support. (Dance Dance Revolution). The game as a style that people would call dated, but it doesn’t age badly and fits the game fairly well. This game is completely free to own and play, with payments for cosmetic items.

When you first start LB, in order to not be overwhelmed, I would recommend not going past 4 star difficulty, and starting on the lower BPM (Beats Per Minute). If you find the lower BPM is too easy, then you can raise it, but don’t start off at 4 stars+ with 200+BPM unless you are a veteran with rhythm games.

you should really play this game

my hours are off since i play it offline but trust me i play it a lot

its really fun but theres like 3 people who know about it and you should join those 3 people

It’s a pretty good short rhythm gmae that I would reccomend. Its artstyle is similar to early Final Fantasy games, which is great.

I would look forward to newer content though
