Loop-Loop DX
General stuff: This is a good game. It took me around a total of 4 hours to 100% (ignore my time on record, I accidentally let it run in the background all day too). This game doesn’t have a whole lot of content, and a lot of the game is very similar to others in the 2D space shooter genre. The inertia system wasn’t especially compelling in this game, but it was clean and absolutely served its purpose to accomplish what this game was going for; you never feel hindered by the momentum feeling wrong.

This game is by far my favorite free to play game. It’s a fun little bullet hell starring space captain Carl, and a super computer in a space prison, whats not to love? It has 50 achievements that weren’t to challenging for me someone who isn’t the best at video games. I look forward to what Alex Carpenter has in store for us in whatever project he might be working on.

ChronoBreach
Ok, so hear me out. In the Phineas and Ferb movie they create a dimensional portal device that sets off the whole movie and they have also created some of the most powerful superweapons known to man. Phineas and Ferb would obviously be able to murder thanos with absolute ease using the arsenal of deadly weapons that give them the power of every single avenger combined, such as a off brand Ironman suit or a potion that is so potent it caused the entire universe to be enlarged. They have even made 2 fighting mechs out of a treehouse that are the size of a building. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Can’t wait for UpsilonGames’s next game, Hogan’s Castle

It is a quick but fun game. The enemies attack very fast, but the controls are silky smooth and the player’s time manipulating abilities allow for easy maneuvering and attacking. While the primary attack is only a pea shooter, it still gets the job done. Overall, it is very fun, fast game-play, but it just needs a story and maybe some form of customization, but because it is so new, and is labeled as being experimental, I expect updates to be on the horizon.

The Supper
Out of curiosity, I browsed through the horror games in the steam store, sorting the games by the ratings. I was scrolling down the page wishing that I had more money in my pocket, when I came across this. With it being free, I thought that I might as well give it a shot. I was bored, anyways. This game is one of those hidden gems. Pretty much everything about it is great. It is a quick 15-20 minute experience (longer if you are just bad at puzzle solving like me) that will leave you very satisfied. Here are some pros and cons (spoiler alert: you wont see many cons):

Quirky, short, free point’n’click in the style of “charming horror” where you get to cook but might want to do it on an empty stomach. Bon Appetit!
Odd-looking Ms. Appleton owns a tavern and peacefully naps in the kitchen when a strange voice wakes her up and urges to feed upcoming party of even more peculiar-looking guests. Few things needed for a dinner are missing, so she’s off to find them, all along listening to voice’s sinister commentary. Well, at least there’s plenty of “special sauce” to make the meal truly unforgettable!

Backbone: Prologue
Beautiful game! The art style is something games have attempted time and time again and only this game pulls it off! The controls should be easy and familiar to most pc gamers.
Now on to the cons:
-
This game would greatly benefit from voice acting. Maybe the full version will have it.
-
The dialogue is severely lacking. These don’t sound, to me, like adult conversations. They sound like people trying to sound like adults.
-
Plot hook is entirely predictable.
-
Dialogue choices don’t make sense. I never asked the original NPC the SPECIFICS about the situation, because she wanted to be discrete, and I didn’t want to assume anything about her problem. I only asked her professional questions that would help me get the job done and the game steered me into reacting like I asked her very personal and unprofessional information.

besides being furry bait, backbone is a gorgeous game with a gritty feel, boasting a fairly unique art style and a soundtrack to accompany it; a combo that is sure to leave people awestruck at least once.
the gameplay itself feels very interesting (to me) given that, so far, it’s a mix of admiring the view, stealth, careful talking, and figuring shit out, especially
! the locker room puzzle . in said puzzle, the game trusts you to solve the cryptic mess by yourself with very little hints and no popups, leaving you room to freely think of what you’re supposed to do. just my kind of game!

Mega Hasan
Cute little standard platformer. Minor gore in the vein of Meat Boy. Good music, for the most part (some of it borders on heavy/overkill, trying to hard, but falls just short of it). Fun, if a bit goofy. Smacks a bit of Super Mario and other platformers of yore, not so much Mega Man (allusion in the title, perhaps a parody of that and SMB). Leaderboards give you a reason to keep playing, and not too hard to make casual players turn away either, honestly. Also, gotta love some of the vintage sound effects (SMW, Sonic, etc).

A tribute to the 8-bit glory days of Mega Man and Mario, this game is fantastic and I would gladly pay for it.
I LOVE the soundtrack. These hard-pumping chiptune techno anthems would feel right at home in Mega Man 2 or 3. Sometimes I just sit and listen to the music. It rocks.
Gameplay is very simple: run and jump. No weapons or abilities, except to stomp. No loot, no cash, no upgrades, and no score; it’s just basic side-scrolling platformer action, pure and simple, with a timer for speed runs. But the controls and physics are solid and have a good “feel”. Most hazards are predictable, but some of the enemy behavior is complex enough to be slightly different each time, so you develop a balance of well-practiced timing and quick reaction to the unexpected.

Ultra Fight Da ! Kyanta 2
Imagine if 3rd Strike, CvS2 and KoF98 had a baby. Imagine mixups so explosive and unpredictable your average marvel player would faint on the spot. Imagine comboing off a 3-Frame overhead into a billion damage. Imagine invincible, + on block reversals. Imagine ToDs on half the cast. Imagine neverending block pressure off a jab for every character in the game.
Imagine one of the nicest and most welcoming communities out there turning this game into something truly special. That is what Ultra Fight Da! Kyanta 2 is. A game that defies genre conventions, that challenges your decision making every second. If you can get over the… um, unique artstyle (if you play for long enough you might even find it charming eventually), this is an experience unlike anything else on the market right now. Offense is fun, defense is fun. Every character feels overpowered, every character feels balanced.

Snake lady best lady. Gator with gun is a barrel of fun. Taro’s win screen is the true villain of the game
So I heard Street Fighter 2 was a great game. What made it a great game? Everyone was overpowered in their own way, and losing to someone’s overpowered gimmick was entirely your fault. Why am I talking about this, and why am I accusing you of being a scrub all of a sudden? Well, calling you a scrub is fun, but lets talk about the 1st part more.

Honestly, I didn’t expect a free visual novel to so rich in story & content …. Plus its not short - it took me around a day to complete it once - which was way longer then i was expecting - I honestly adore the characters (Joyce and Phoenix mostly - I mainly played it for the romance but its a rather deep game that i honestly could really relate too - As someone who struggles with solitude and being lonely i can really relate to the mc in this game and at part i kinda teared up abit because i can completely relate … the fear of rejection or failure is something i struggle with till this day …. so when is my joyce coming to rescue me xD )

I didn’t expect to like this VN as much as I did. And since it’s free, it’s definitely worth checking out!
The pastel colour palete really adds to how cute this game is. It’s a simple game with a relatable protagonist going through real life problems like making enough money to pay for next month’s rent. There’s a bit of humor sprinkled throughout, but the game also touches on more emotional things like loneliness (without being too edgy about it). I played through the three different endings and was happy enough with each of them for different reasons. I got all the achievements in-game so I am a bit disappointed steam didn’t unlock the achievements for me :(

A Bewitching Revolution
The epitome of simple and minimalist visuals coupled with a direct dialogue that forms the story. That story though, is quite short, just keep that in mind and consider the message more than the length of the game play. The game play itself is fun and, in keeping with the visuals, simple. It might seem cliché, but the feel of the game is akin to Minecraft, but simpler.
p.s.: If you feel a sense of wanting for more after finishing the game, take the game into reality. Because, games are an escape from the work you do. Volunteer in your community, organize at work, make the future you want to live in.

This is a game that is less like a game. It’s not a story either. It’s more like an atmospheric theatre where the player interacts with the city.
Honestly, while some of the interpretations of communism and socialism seem too surrealistic to me, the whole concept is a nice thing. Being free to play is also a part that serves the theme I suppose.
As for the gameplay, the minimalist graphics made me a bit confused at first, but after an hour (when I finished the game) I got used to it. Still, I would advice contours be added (or an option to turn contours on).

NGU IDLE
PRELIMINARY REVIEW! I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PROGRESS FOR A FULL REVIEW, MID/LATE GAME CURRENTLY!
What is “NGU Idle”?
NGU Idle is short for “Numbers Go Up Idle”. The game is apparently done mostly (or completely?) by a single programmer, “4G” aka “Somethingggg”.
NGU Idle is a pinnacle of the Idle Games genre, not to be confused with the Clicker Games genre. Why? That will be explained below.
The basic gameplay, as in any idle game, consists of doing something and then idling for most of the time. This can be shaken up by (voluntary) challenges which give special rewards or just general improvments, but make sense to progress faster. The challenges require you to reach a certain progress at all, within 24 hours, with some features disabled, etc.

Among what I assume is a sea of reviews trying to be funny (game is kind of centered around “dry” humor so my guess is all the reviews will try to be the same) I’ll try to make it quick.
The game doesn’t feel like it slows down too much, there’s a lot to unlock, and it doesn’t become overwhelming. As I said the game is based on, for lack of a better word, dry humor but the story is actually really good. The developer(4G) is a swell guy hangs out in discord and there’s a really nice and helpful community as well,

The Good Time Garden
this might not be suitable for persons who have suffered from sexual trauma as there are a couple of lines in the game that could be triggering but aside from that this is surprisingly a really good game! it is very short and to the point with its message and theme but that is probably for the best
also, you will be in our hearts forever dude with a hole in his chest. you’ll be missed

It’s good to be wet.

There’s not much I can say about this without spoiling what’s here. Let’s just say there are games and then there are artistic experiments masquerading as games. This is an art project with game elements.
What you see on the store page is what you get: A throbbing pink squishy world full of naked creatures in a short surreal experience. Feel free to interpret it as innocently or as perverse as you prefer.
It’s about 15 to 20 minutes of exploring that climaxes into an abstract metaphor for… whatever you need it to be. Along the path is just a relaxing music track and some silly creatures to meet in this casual maze of squishy pink.
