Wizard And Minion Idle

Wizard And Minion Idle

This is the best idle/semi idle game I’ve ever played. I’ve played many including the most popular ones on Steam but imo this is the best.

It hits a great balance of satisfying and grind while new zones and mechanics are constantly unlocked as you progress. 8 months of play time and I’m still yet to unlock some final parts of the game.

Multiple challenges to keep you engaged and they are so challenging and fun it makes you want to min max every stat you generate. There is definately an optimal way to play this game if you are a min maxer.

I highly recommend this game if you like Idle games.

I’ve been playing it actively for about half a year now from Kongregate and now on Steam.

The game has a really great learning curve and it is well balanced at introducing new content.

Speaking of content, there is so much fun stuff to do here. Several areas are kind of like mini-games that all in some way contribute to your overall progress.

You can play it actively or just let it run for a few days on a backup computer and you’ll always gain something. Even the Offline timer is fair.

_So far, therefore, as the public profession of magic has been one of the roads by which the ablest men have passed to supreme power, it has contributed to emancipate mankind from the thraldom of tradition and to elevate them into a larger, freer life, with a broader outlook on the world.

This is no small service rendered to humanity.

And when we remember further that in another direction magic has paved the way for science, we are forced to admit that if the black art has done much evil, it has also been the source of much good; that if it is the child of error, it has yet been the mother of freedom and truth._

The game is pretty good as far as Idle games go. There is a good amount of love in the details, atmosphere and artwork.

Its major downside is it’s documentation. Frequently tooltipps of spells will give incomplete or misleading information and one has to keep the wiki page open at all time, if one wants to proceed past certain threshholds.

Unfortunately the discord server is in private hands. While it appears the discord is officially supported, it’s nigh impossible to get feedback through the owner and admins of the server, who have no understanding of common problems that basic users may encounter.

Curious game if you ask me…. At simple sight it seems like any idle game, but this one does not try to buy you using eye candy, the graphics are as simple as they can be, lines, text and some simple drawings. It has no sound, music or whatever, even Im not even so sure that is well coded, but in the end it has no bugs, it may have some performance issues but those are minor.

Now you are probably wondering why I recommend this game?. I’ve played a lot of “Idle games” but those other idle games grow old because of the repetition of tasks. This one is different because you have some strategy to plan with it, and while you advance in the game you will have different paths to take spending empire points and amber (the amber could be bought, but its not necessary). In the end, this game receives continuous updates and new features, I understand that this could be simple to achieve due the simplicity of the game but the developer seems to be attached to the project and thats also something positive to take in consideration.

Might be strange to say I dont recommend this game after playing 4000+ hours of it. The core game play loop is fine I guess. The game is more of an incremental game than an idle game, in the sense that you are fairly heavily involved at most points of the game including and sometimes especially as you prestige. Comparing this to NGU Idle which has a similarly strong hands-on feel for an idle/incremental, this game doesnt make you feel as though youve conquered the parts of the game that actually make you feel “weak” until almost the very end, so even though the numbers are indeed going up youre often struggling with the same annoying tasks that you did at step 1. If anything, the parts that get simplified over prestiges are the parts that are actually fun, like deciding how to optimize your build or play around your limited space (since one style of playing becomes so clearly broken in the mid game that you have no choice but to run it or feel yourself lose potential progress).

-Summary

I enjoy this game, there’s not a lot going on to it but it’s still a game which takes a few days in total to almost finish. You take the role of a drug dealer and you have the opportunity to grow marijuana and sell multiple different drugs. You got a variety to choose from. You unlock different areas on the map and upgrade your drug dealers in order to maximise profit and speed up the amount of time it takes to sell the product. You can start a money laundering business in order to produce clean money, as well as a gambling section to buy, sell and unlock different crates which give different rewards which are by chances.

I love the idle genre, and I want to like this game, but there are too many little things wrong with it to recommend it right now. I fundamentally dislike the lootbox mechanic, but even setting that aside, there are some serious flaws for an “idle” game:

1.) Your end game progress is capped by whether you have the DLC (almost every core game feature is level capped, but the cap is higher with DLC). I think the free version would be better advertised as a demo, and you have to pay for the full version (which I have no problem with). Most idle games allow you to pay for faster progress or an early boost, but this is the only game I know of where a free player can’t even approach a paying player in endgame, no matter how much time they invest.

Pretty boring.

I played a lot, but actually almost all of it is idling and waiting forever for a tiny bit of improvement.

Even if you pay a lot of money, your progress is gonna be super slow it’s not worth it.

There is just very little to do in this game. In fact, i can barely call it a game.

You kill magic monsters escaped from a lab. That’s it! It’s the game.

So while the game is running or not, you kill monsters until you hit a wall then you go back in time to do it again with a bit of xp boost to get further ahead next time.

If you enjoy idle games, that have a bit a strategy this is it, Different mages with unique passives, and hundreds of skills to Customize from: increasing luck, and stats, to lowering frequency of getting Shop currency ^_^ . Spending time is worth it.

Love to see what you guys have stored for the future. Really enjoying the new 5 philosopher Drop Chance, been helpful.

Something that I feel would make the game even more interesting, while making the game feel rewarding for leaving game on. Is a Mechanic or Skill to Pick up Both the Caches and Bones. As getting this skills feels like a great hinder or waste if offline. on that note an extra skill tab or two would be appreciated. Would enjoy switching to different characters and skills depending on the Situation, Am I Grinding to kill, Killing a Boss, Or Farming with lots of Luck.

It’s sad that it took me so long to realize that the mathematics in this game are broken. Purchasing a 100% increase in generation, should result in your production of that resource doubling. It’s basic percentages. However, instead of going from 2 to 4 my resource went from 2 to 3. This is a 50% increase. This makes me question the other mathematics that are used within the game. This game is dependent upon its maths is correct. Therefore, from a fundamental perspective, the game is broken.

Secondly, there is a lot of cheating taking place in the game making it not worthwhile in putting in the time and effort to succeed in their special events. This is because there are reward tiers. Why put in tens of hours when someone can jump on and beat your work without having earned it?

Update: On 15th August 2018, the Steam support has officially been discontinued. Features like events do no longer appear in the Steam version and are mobile exclusive. Gameplay is significantly reduced on Steam from now on.

Bugs, cheat users, a support, that does not take action about issues, that are reported for months (a simple database/display error I reported seven months ago still is not fixed), a player competition, that gets messed up by all of this massively (modest cheaters only settle for the income of a couple of million years per second. More blatant ones… go much higher).

Artist Idle

Amazing concept but pretty bad game.

I believe that this could be one of the best idle games if the maths and specifically the prestige maths were completely remade.

Incremental games usually sit somewhere on a line between idle and clicker games and personally I prefer incremental games somewhere in the middle where active playing and micromanagement is faster than leaving the game and then coming back to upgrade but I do like idle games too but Artist idle takes it too far.

In Artist Idle you are forced to wait for progression while having nothing to do, this is the worst with fame.

Real player with 779.7 hrs in game

Like many idle games, this one may require some patience. I’m enjoying it, but I think the automation walls are a bit too severe. It takes a good while to figure out you need the museum to very slowly increase the sell price of the drawings. When that happens, it is incredibly incremental and you don’t get passive fame (the stuff that raises painting sell price) while you’re offline. So I just let this one run in the background to generate fame so I can get better upgrades. It takes a WHILE.

I hesitate to call it a wall but there’s definitely one there. You can remain fairly active and keep collecting pixels and see the highest Pixels Per Second you can while your fame accumulates, but this leads to an initial problem: Once you finish a painting it only maxes to about 260,000 pixels. I’m not sure if the “School” mechanic raises that amount at all since I’m a fair bit away from being able to unlock that, but it limits what you can do per run and it forces you to remain on one picture while fame generates. Eventually your upgrades cost millions but you’re only getting the 260k at a time.

CryptoClickers: Crypto Idle Game

Very good idle game. Has little, in any kind of game-functional sense, to do with crypto currencies aside from using currency names.

Has multiple layers of depth, a number of interlinked levels that need to be opened up, all with good help/explanation and some even come with tips. Every layer of the game can be automated except for the “daily events”, but that’s ok because they are short duration (5 to 10 minutes), they aren’t mandatory but they do give an extra bonus that adds up over time, and the events change each day. The different sections of the game can automatically grind away and progress while you are in another area of the game working on that.

I have been playing the game everyday since I got it and I’m extremely rejoiced as the game has released on steam. It’s a free, fun to play game with a lovely community that will eat up your spare time with its seemingly endless progression and cool features. The game includes a simple yet elegant art style which is soft on the eye with smooth corners and amazing contrast as well as easy to understand mechanics that anyone can understand. The game includes a easy to follow tutorial which teaches you the basics of the game and is constantly being updated to fix any bugs and to change or create new and ever growing content. Furthermore, the creator (CryptoGrounds) is easy to contact if you need any help and is friendly when solving any problems with the game that you might have.

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. THE DEV IS EXTREMELY MENTALLY UNSTABLE.

EDIT 2: Okay so just a heads up. The Dev (LavaFlame2) is extremely extremely fragile and if you leave a bad review and finds out who you are he will ban you on everything he possibly can and all your friends. After i spoke to him on discord he then blocked me. Banned me from the discord and sub Reddit and then banned all of my guild members. He took this review very personally and now attacked me and my friends because i gave my honest thoughts about the game and how i feel about it in its current state. Dev has been late with every single update he has ever released is usually on holiday not actually working on developing the game unfortunately. Make sure not to spend money on the game as odds are he will be giving up developing this game very soon (just like his last games he has done the exact same thing with).

First, let me start off by saying that I am having fun in the game. I am. However, the game has a lot of issues which means people who traditionally enjoy Idle Games… probably aren’t going to have much fun.

An Idle game, traditionally, relies on a specific gameplay loop. If it gets this loop correct, players become hooked. Not a lot of idle games get this gameplay loop correct.

What is that loop?

1. Lots of easy levels in the early game.

2. Each new system introduced is a new avenue for gaining power and clearing gameplay.
