Ultimate Custom Night
Okay so this game is great, it has a lot of flaws but it’s still very good.
Pros:
-50 customizable characters.
-4 completely different office skins.
-Most of the mechanics are fun and creative.
-58 characters with jumpscares in total.
-Plenty of easter eggs.
-Fun-to-solve lore bits.
-Power-ups.
-I would’eve put the lagging part as part of the cons but, Scott recently updated the game with an option to turn off the visual effects and it basically completely fixes the lag so…..yeah.
-New renders are pretty sweet.

While Ultimate Custom Night is quite new to the FNaF series, it has quickly become one of the best games in the series.
Ultimate Custom Night; compared to it’s predecessors, is probably the most fun to play. This is mostly due to you being able to fully customize the game to your liking. Whether the setup be extremely simple for the player, or setting up a rather hard self challenge for themselves. The full customizability to UCN gives you tons and tons of possibilities and replayability. Not to mention, it’s a completely free game.

My man RongRong, I was already a fan of your animations since the Payday 2 one, long ago.
When I heard you made a game, let alone a 2D horror, holy crap I came running.
I loved what you did here. Even if i didn’t know you beforehand, i’d have appreciated the effort you put on everything. The animated cutscenes, the art, everything.
The undertale-like music at the end too haha.
The only things I didn’t exactly like was, first, the escape moments. I think they were too harsh at some point, took me two days to finish the game because i was tired after so many constant restarts.

I see, where the inspiration comes from, and this game is a good attempt towards that direction.
So, this is a horror RPG on paper, but it’s very light for that. (Also a short one, compared to others.) It has some chase scenes and a few jumpscares, but it doesn’t have the (dark) atmosphere to call it horror. (The music is sometimes interesting for a horror game.)
It’s an escape story, so don’t expect a deep story or lore now! But it’s probably an early attempt, so it’s okay. That is also the reason, why the goal of the story doesn’t feel strong or deep.

Great teaser of immersive and narrative VR that is something that I have found very lacking in the VR content out there. The world is engaging with a haunted beauty that draws the viewer in. Having a narrator guide you through the experience give it the feel of a gothic tale unfolding in front of your eyes.
This gives a much deeper view into the Abbot’s Book world. I have a much clearer idea now of where the director wants to take the viewer. I look forward to more direct player interaction and am eager to see what surprises await us in the catacombs.

Wow. Ok. I haven’t been much of a VR supporter, but having worked in the visual effects industry for some 30+ years one of my friends recently told me that I should really check this out. Evidently the developers come from a VFX background, and after a few minutes of playing you can really tell they’ve brought their skills to bear.
Having not been overly interested in game play, per say, the idea of VR as a story telling medium intrigues me. Unlike reading a book or watching a film, VR presents a host of challenges for driving a story arc and guiding the viewer while also allowing them the freedom to explore a given space. It’s still an open landscape; without a formula or established structure to lean on. While I don’t think anyone has yet hit upon a distinct set of rules for establishing the way a story should unfold in VR, it’s clear Blackthorn are the people to watch when it comes to breaking open the ways and means for a narrative VR experience.

Disturbed
I gave this game a try on the recommendation of some of my Steam friends, and was not disappointed at all. :)
This is a sort of Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style game, where you progress through the story by making decisions about what to do next. Every decision affects the outcome (unlike some other games - cough cough Telltale Game of Thrones cough cough - where choice is but an illusion).
What I really liked though, was the fact that when you make those decisions, matters. For instance, you may come to a scene as yet unequipped with a certain inventory item, and if you choose to make a particular decision before you have that inventory item, you could end up losing your life.

If you like “Choose your own adventure” stories and “FREE” and you are not a picky brat, then you may like this one.
Pros:
-
It’s Free
-
So far, no bugs found
-
Easy Achievements, most of them deaths :D and I got them in one seat.
-
Save your progress at any point so you can satisfy your curiosity with " what would happen if I choose…"
-
Low system requirements for wood PC’s
-
Fast download for shitty internet connections
-
It has some sound effects, and for a free game they are not 8 bit! The creepy woman laughing was very good indeed

Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion
I’m even afraid of the cardboard cutouts.
MORE THAN THE ACTUAL MONSTERS.
Specimen 4 is my second favorite because of her chase theme.
6 is my first.

I have always criticized the approach that many horror games and movies took nowadays, pelting your face with cheap, annoying jumpscares every 20 minutes when you’re bored out of your mind watching or playing said material.
I saw the title of this game and I was like “Well, this must be a parody of something I absolutely despise, this must be good!”
….My god.
I never thought I would say “NOT THE FUCKING PUMPKING AGAIN, FUCK!” So many times.
Room 25, there is nothing scary about this game, silly, cheap jumpscares.

My Friend is a Raven
Whoa! For a game that was so short, it made an impact! This game has 4 alternate endings you can unlock, and all of them are very unique and different from one another, offering a different perspective on the situation at hand. It took me less than half an hour to unlock all 4 endings (thought I had a little help coming up with ideas from my viewers on Twitch) but still left feeling satisfied by the game’s content. I’m disappointed that there are no achievements for this game. I don’t know if a game has to be a specific length or popularity to get achievements, but an achievement for each ending (and maybe one for when you get all 4 endings) would have been nice, but I’m a completionist and always want something to show for my work. I would also like to say that I would LOVE to see more of this world. A longer game (say, My Beautiful Paper Smile length?) showing what happened between the flashback you can unlock in the game and where you start to see the progression of society decaying.

A short post-apocalyptic adventure game with 4 different endings, takes about 40 minutes to 100%. I thought the story had a compelling dialogue between the main characters, with some space for personal interpretation. The visuals and effects were done very well, it has that unsettling atmosphere with the sense of despair from start to finish, although the good ending was really sweet lol. If I am being nitpicky, the lack of full mouse controls and automated puzzles made it a little clunky, just something to improve upon. Not a huge fan of that text format, I had to read the sentences twice because the letters were twisted. I would rather not say anything else to avoid spoilers, there is not a lot of content to begin with. However, when I was done I wanted more of it, and I am looking forward to dev’s upcoming game that has similar vibes. Also, thanks for the freebies!

Fausts Alptraum
I don’t even know where to start.
I super enjoyed this game from the start to the end.
The characters, the graphics, the sountrack, the story, the designs, the art…
Absolutely everything is amazing from this game.
I just want more from this universe.
Edit, 07/14/2020:
I revisited this game.
It doesn’t fails in draggin you in quickly. I’m truly amazed by the story it tells, it really sticks with you. Gosh I really want to praise it non-stop.
You feel this connection with the characters, even though you’ve never seen them, you feel like they really were here once, like they still are.

What first attracted me to Fausts Alptraum was the visually appealing crayon world full of bright colour that immediately reminded me of Laika’s motion adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Coraline. The cut-scenes reminiscent of a dark world that would look at home in a Tim Burton screenplay.
The gameplay graphics are the normal RPGmaker yet they still evoke a creepy mystery by adding subtle changes within the rooms as different actions are completed leaving an eerie haunted feeling early on in the game.

Mr. Hopp’s Playhouse
This is one of the games I kinda wish I could give it a middle rating. It’s not all that great but it’s not bad, either. The game is almost entirely a hide and seek type game. The story is decent enough, although I kind of would have liked a bit more depth to the story. I could get the gist of what was going on but it didn’t give us much of a reason why (and that was really seen more in the secrets that could be found). The graphics were great, I’m a huge fan of pixel graphics, and I thoroughly enjoyed the jumpscares. I really liked the fact that Mr. Hopp’s did continuously change in appearance and his jumpscares. I did also enjoy the two different endings you can get in the game, but really there’s absolutely no point to the end game chase beyond adding to the “scary” element in the game. Which, honestly, the game needs. It’s not scary beyond the jumpscares and even after the first couple of runs, it loses its scare value (as is the fate of jumpscares).

This is a good little horror game.
It is not that scary, but it is still enjoyable and I still got scared when that stupid rabbit came out of nowhere and jumpscared me.
I’ve noticed that there are some differences between this version and the Game Jolt version: There is no blood on the bed, and instead of the gun, you get a slingshot… :/ That’s kind of disappointing, it feels like the game was suddenly turned into a “family friendly” version.
It can be a little frustrating, but is still a good game.

Lurk in the Dark : Prologue
The Guilty shall suffer
Lurk in the Dark Prologue is a Kickstarter demo made by one person, and soon we will be getting the first full episode – The Guilty. The Prologue sets up the start of the first episode with Marcus going to a crime scene to investigate a murder. Once there, things quickly turn array when the ghosts of his past begin to haunt him. Is this all in his head, a figment of his imagination? Is any of this even real?
There isn’t much to go on in the prologue, with bits and pieces scattered throughout the level and the ending cinematic, shedding some light on where we can expect the story to go in the full game. Also, the English is broken in certain places, like the subtitles and notes. It isn’t awful but will be noticeable at times.

This “Lurk in the Dark” has only a prologue edition, but the creator is Mr. Hamasaki Yusuke, a Japanese person, and although there are some spelling mistakes in the English notation, the “voice” of the characters I am in charge of English and Japanese, which is wonderful.
It’s a horror game with a nice atmosphere, and the stage is the “Lagurus House” where there was a report from the general public, and it seems to be quite a family in the local area.
In this prologue, the episode of Marcus Browne, a detective dispatched to the “Lagurus House” where the incident was alleged, is told.

I love this game. I saw Markiplier and Dashiegames play this and I was interested. I got the demo (aka Ch.1) and did it 100% and I enjoyed finding the secrets and trying to get an S rank on it. So I bought the complete edition so I can have all the Chapters. I love what they are doing with the game and I hope when it is done it is loved by many. I hope that Glowstick Entertainment takes more time with future chapters since Ch.3 had some bugs with Crazy Carnevil. It was fun. I love how they fixed it and added a new roller coaster hazard. Same for Ch.4 the chapter was very fun and lore heavy. While it did release with crashes and bugs the game is now playable and enjoyable. They even made changes to earlier levels to make them better, easier, or even harder. I highly recommend this game. Just keep your cool on Stranger Sewers and know when to use your powers as each level is gonna get harder. Don’t forget to use them all so you can survive. After learning more about the development of this game I see it had a rough start but has a good future ahead of it. A multiplayer game that updates sometime after this game gets a chapter released with DLC from known horror titles and even creators who play this game a lot. Not to mention their merch, a book series planned, 2 more sequels, and more !
