Tactical Craft Online

May 2016,

being Top in most of the ingame Ratings categories,

I have chose to resign mod and leave the game.

Hence its my turn to leave a review,

Overall, the game is not bad if one enjoys monotonous chores of grinds, farmings and hunting of Pves.

The game is filled with many bugs and exploits.

The lone Developer does put in alot of effort in adding new contents to the game.

The Failures of the game, when the game got released,

there was only One General Channel,

creating huge flood of various languages, being new and free on Steam, the inflow of starters/trolls were overwhelming,

The game itself is at best a meh… if it didnt directly appeal to a little of my ocd and nostalgia I wouldn’t have the near 1k hours I have… oh yeah a lot of that is idling to gain Tech Points, not 1k hours of actual play.

The real problem is the people behind this game. The actual team as far as I can tell is in a word…Nationalistic

DO NOT GIVE ANY MONEY TO THESE HATERS

If you are not Russian you do not get the same treatment.

Rather than go into ALL of the various places I have seen this exhibit itself I offer the following comparisons.

For players: It’s worth the download. It’s free, it’s quick, it’s just dumb fun to shoot an array of different projectiles types at mindless drones. And what seals the deal is the level design, barring the Final Boss. The levels are all cilindrical arenas spiralling towards the top. I just wish the game was tougher and longer.

For Devs: I DO wish the game was longer and tougher. In fact, the selling point of the game is the elemental arsenal and the level design. It’s almost wasted by one thing: the enemies. Why make a game with all these fun gadgets and ledges only to fight against faceless drones? I’d even settle for Floating Skulls or Hands. At least, it’s on theme. It’s pretty jarring for an ancient temple to be filled with drones that don’t even have animations and barely even hurt you. It’s like “Yay! I have a lightning gun! I can’t wait to see the look on the bad guys' faces when- oh wait!” Plus, the lobby has all these platforming puzzles nonexistent in the other arenas. It’s a wasted opportunity. Also, get more music and fix the inventory system, I’m sick of losing my gear and listening to the same loop.

It’s a hard choice whether to recommend or not for this game. I have spent 3 years playing and have enjoyed much of my time engaging with the game. The game however has slowly been designed away from the game I enjoyed and the potentional I saw for it that kept me engaged, until I recently stopped playing. I follow the game still in the hopes the development will correct itself to be the game I fell in love with at launch, but hope has faded to dust long ago.

Ultimately the only way to decide if I should reccomend this game will depend on what you are looking for from the game. The gane needs to be define by if you intent to be a ftp, ptp or small finacial supporting player. As a ftp player I can recommend playing the game for at most around 10 to 20 hours and then walking away. You will have an enjoyable experience that wont be tarnished by the pay to play features. The game is addictive and has an enjoyable progression system. Unfortunately the late game, and some of the mid game, is tarnished by the games premium currency and pay to play walls.

As you can see by the hours on record, I’m not a new player to this game. I plan on continuing playing even after this post, at least for a while. First and foremost, this is an addictive game. But I won’t recommend it. (As of the end of the middle of September, I stopped playing because of no change. This was originally posted back in June.)

I started this game because a friend also played it. He told me it was similar to Swords & Potions 2, but better, and I found it to be true. I started in August of 2016; however in the recent months there have been a lot of hostility amongst the community due to the fact that updates are very slow to come in this game and there has been little change in about a year and a half, due to the last main change being PVP being added.

EverQuest II

EverQuest II

I’ve been playing everquest 2 since 2011.

If I could rate the game out of 10 it would be 6. I love Everquest 2 very dearly, it will always be in my heart. Everytime I try to find a different game to play I always come back to Everqeust 2. There are a lot of good and bad things about the game. I gave a 6/10 because there are many issues with Everquest 2 that need to be addressed by the devs and haven’t been. I cannot ignore that despite my deep love for this classic game.

Some of the bad stuff;

Real player with 4705.8 hrs in game

Ah Everquest, my first true MMO love; even tho I was a consistent Ultima Online player until 1999 when EQ graced my screen. The EQ universe was my home for the next 6 years, shared only with what I consider another great MMO, Dark Age of Camelot. It wasn’t until 2005 and I peeled myself away from those games to embark on a new journey in Everquest 2.

I will admit, the first couple of years were very hard on EQ2. The steep computer requirements, the very hard game-play and the rise of a much lighter MMO in World of Warcraft created a challenging future for Everquest 2. Yet, the game persisted; made changes and continued to grow its content until now; it is probably of the largest if not the biggest MMO (content wise) out there today.

I recieved this game as a gift to get my opinion on it. I am very pleased with what I see and would buy it if Steam still allowed storing games in your inventory :/.

*Update: I have now bought the game via the Storefront. I will leave the box checked however, as that is how I had innitially recieved the game.

Introduction

First off, I highly recommend you check out my SOS post on this game as that delves into more of the “behind the scenes actions” that have been occuring with the game, this review will mainly focus on the game it’s self and if it has any redeeming qualities.

! it doesn’t

Review

Celestial Creator’s premise is primarily to act as a form of construction based game where you’re placed in a world with over 300 materials at your disposal to create what you want. The game also has a number of asteroid belts that you can toggle that can come and destroy builds that you’ve made and as an extra challenge, the player can protect the builds they’ve made with the protector build of the main character. On the topic of character builds, there are different types of character builds that can be toggled with the numerical keys, there is protector mode, explorer mode, fly mode, buggy mode and big buggy mode. Protector mode as described before is used if you toggle the asteroid attacks, you’re given a gun and you have to shoot them before they come into contact with anything. Explorer mode is basically a build of the character where you can run around the map and basically do nothing. There is additionally contruction mode which is the build in which you can place down different material blocks. The other modes are self explanatory in which you’re given the applicable vehicle and you get to drive that around the map.

Cadria Item Shop

Cadria Item Shop

TL:DR - Casuals, give it a go, for 100% achievement hunters just a big fat no unless you have money to burn

  • Easy to get in-game gems

  • Outfits to unlock

  • Plenty of events/wars to keep you motivated

  • Hero customisation (kind of)

  • Most players even on the English servers are non-english speakers

  • Most guilds are non-english

  • Crashes often when trying to load into server

  • D/C’s often

  • 8 achievements locked behind a very expensive paywall

Slow start but the game gives plenty of chances daily for gems to upgrade stuff and make it easier to unlock event items which are pretty useful and nice to keep you playing longer.

I am honestly amazed that this game doesn’t have more of a following. It’s cute, it has a soothing aesthetic, it’s free, and it’s really good at what it does. It has DLC and micro transactions, but doesn’t try to force you to buy them just to get through the game. As of this review, the English translation is pretty good. While some of the flavor text on the items is still in Chinese, I have yet to be confused or lost because I couldn’t read something that mattered. There are some flaws in the translation of dialog between characters sometimes, but in a way that is mostly endearing rather than confusing. Quirky wording or names switched around, not big incomprehensible errors.

Crossout

Crossout

TLDR: google “crossout slam dunk” (even if you have no intention of ever playing the game, lol).

Full version (Scroll below for a section on “omg, grind!"):

After enjoying this game for quite a while, I feel like I at the very least owe them a Steam review, because in my mind the “Mixed” rating (as of writing this) is quite unfair, and is largely created by new players mistaking a learning curve for a “paywall”.

Which leads me to this main advice to starting players:

Real player with 2812.2 hrs in game

This game is EXTREMELY poorly managed. And trust me, this means alot, because most of the time i overvalue games and i respect the developers alot. I also recommend most of the games i play, to my friends. I would honestly not recommend crossout to anyone. This became one of the worst games i have ever played. Just because of some poor decisions

Let me talk about some key elements of the game.

GRINDING

Don’t be fooled by the fact that the game is free. The small playerbase is used to invest lots of money in the game, so as a new player, or a player who really plays for free, it’s a dead end. You will be smashed by the others, since the items are tier based and every tier is more expensive than the prior one. The last one takes few months, even years of grinding, depending on how often you play, of course, if you don’t pay real money. That being said, you might just find yourself in huge disadvantages if you play for free. There were decent ways to farm in game coins fast, but don’t worry, the developers made sure to patch them, so everything is a slow process and you don’t get anything significant without paying them.

Stonies

Stonies

Fun distraction, though the game’s pace is rather slow, unless you go the pay-to-win route and fork out real money. A brilliant game that is ruined by resource heavy in-game goals. You can see that the developer is clearly money-focused rather than customer-focused, as player fun is handicapped by their attempts to make unrealistic demands of players through their goal focused system.

Limited-time events, such as the fountain building challenge during the soccer world cup, require your Stonies gather resources & craft excessive amounts of items (some of which are event specific) in ever increasing amounts for each stage, that only the most dedicated, & most likely unemployed, players can afford to do to 100% max completion in the allotted time without resorting to the pay-to-win route.

Real player with 334.1 hrs in game

This game is a true evolution of a species game. The crafting system is very realistic, with correct items of reality, used to craft certain items! I love this realism in the crafting and building system. You unlock and evolve technology, and the life changes of your villagers. Some tips:

  • When needing Gems, use cave paintings once unlocked. And just pray like crazy, convert shards to gems.

  • Resources. Use Gardens to mass produce certain plant items.

  • Uncovering resources. As long as a building is completely built, and not being used, you can left click an move it elsewhere. Revealing the materials that were under it. So you can harvest and area bare, then move a shop or hut there, unlocking the other material resources that were under it.
