Pop’s

Pop’s

‘Pop’s’ is a fun little arcade stall style shooter in which you have to shoot various toys with a colour corresponding ball. Set in a funfair style setting the graphics are bright and colourful keeping with the fun theme. The good news is the gameplay is also fun and very simple to get into (despite the long, drawn-out tutorial). Provided you are going to play this at a VR party with friends or you just enjoy chasing your own score you will get your money’s worth there, but in truth, there really isn’t a lot of content. Sure, its not original and you don’t get a lot for your money, but its a bit of fun for a small price and that is good enough for me.

Guns’n’Stories: Bulletproof VR

Guns’n’Stories: Bulletproof VR

The first time I played the game like this was in a shopping mall in VR glasses. I didn’t remember the game of that game, but I certainly liked this type of VR games. The gameplay in that game was also In Wild West.

And yesterday i found this game “Guns’n Stories: Bulletproof VR”, downloaded it and enjoyed my LIFE! =)

Gameplay is well thought out, because it does not bother and there are some different locations, guns etc.

Here are pros, which i noticed and mentioned for myself:

  • U can move by ur body = dodge bullets. So u dont just stupidly stay on the one place and shoot

A fun and atmospheric shooter, marred by several apparently-broken achievements.

I have a policy of not recommending games with broken achievements, so this sadly changed my rating to a thumbs-down.

Story:

The story told by the whiskey-drinkin', cigar-smokin' grandpa is humorous and rich in over-the-top Wild-West flavor. I haven’t played the developer’s newer Sci-Fi game, Boiling Steel, but from the trailers it doesn’t look like it has the same quality of atmosphere.

The story’s a linear rescue story, about him fighting his way through varied locations to rescue his love, but it’s voice acted well and supported by atmospheric music.

HordeZ

HordeZ

Pretty decent zombie shooter modelled after the likes of L4D, except in VR. You slowly move along creepy backdrops with zombies attacking you from all directions, big ones, little ones, explodey ones. Until it brings you to the level goal. Kind of like a super plodding “House of the dead” but the zombies are actually shuffling into your personal space. It handles the VR movement issue well as the “on the rails” mechanic just melts into the background when battle commences. Allowing you to go crazy capping zombies by dual weilding a decent selection of arms including melee for close quarters. I love how fun melee with dual kantanas in VR is, so you can play out your walking dead fantasies and feel like a bad ass.

Still one of the coolest experiences on Vive, after all this time. The graphics look great, there are many levels, with different levels of difficulty, and online multiplayer. I’ve always been a fan of the concept, that instead of just shooting pickups, in the Hordez, shooting the pickups destroys them, and you have the added challenge of having to retrieve them with the grabber gun.

Very clever. Can’t believe anyone would be so weak, so as having to use arcade mode. Just two things. I was glad they added another character that rushes you a bit, I just wish it hadn’t been that clown. I thought all the other enemy models were scary looking and that the cheesy clown took away a lot of that fear factor. it would be great if it were replaced with something more menacing. And people can never find Hordez of my list, because the logo was given a slightly tarnished metal look, and everyone sees it as Kordez. The slight metal look that’s added to the H makes it look like a K to everyone. Hordez rocks!

Omega Blade VR is a challenge type / wave shooter, similar to Space Pirate Trainer, only not half as good. There are 20 total level challenges to try to climb up the leaderboards. They include stuff like your standard wave shooter (with a match color variant or shuriken throwing variant), to target practice with a sniper rifle within a limited time, to reflecting projectiles with blades and avoiding lasers by moving around.

This is a shooting game that simulates real firearms. Players can choose various firearms, submachine guns, rifles, pistols, etc., and modify the selected firearms according to their preferences. After selecting the firearms, players can enter the shooting range for shooting training, and use the mouse to control the direction and shooting operations. Environmental factors such as wind direction and moving target will affect your target performance.

Couldn’t move the plane. I grabbed the flight stick and pushed it forward, pulled it back, tilted it and pushed every single button on my controller but nothing happened. The game flashes bright red in your eyes when getting attacked.

Pangman

Pangman

This is a fun game based on an arcade classic. I played through a few of the worlds in solo play. I thought the progression and difficulty was fair, but some of the levels have these indestructible spheres which are hard to dodge and sometimes shooting them did not seem to repel them at all. I also wish there was a power up or an option so you didn’t die in one hit. Sometimes I would hear a turret power up and had no idea what direction would come from and I’d have to start the stage over again.

If youve played the old game, its basically that, in a 3d room with the pistol way more available than on the classic.

Performance was excellent, like zero loading screens as expected because of the simplish graphics, not that complicated gameplay, and closed and small levels.

I found it entertaining and fun for what it was, in 1hr i finished just the first 3 worlds or ~30 of 140 levels (and i have 1st place in Egypt and Mexico currently :p)

Game is very simple and just like the oldschool game, spheres want to take over the world, but you can somehow make a difference, like if we could even annoy our perfected dimensioned overlords if they ever wanted to take over.

First of all, let me explain how ‘your money’s worth’ actually works, as it dawned on me not too long ago.

Let’s say you work at a job where you make 10$/hr. This game is 2 dollars. Therefore, if you play this game for 12 minutes, you will have recieved your ‘money’s worth’. That’s one of the reasons I recommend this game.

The second reason is that space combat sims like this are like finding a needle in a haystack, and they’re all either tough to run due to their age (Freespace, X-wing games) or invariably complex to the point that the combat itself is overshadowed (X Series, Elite, etc). This is a game where I can sit down, and be part of a pretty big space battle where capital ships and squadrons of fighters are duking it out. It’s good for the imagination. Graphics are decent, there’s no real story to speak of, upgrades are a little weird but not that bad, It’s an ok space combat game.

This game is a blast! It’s like a 3D shmup without a pattern and is something I would have pumped tons of quarters into if it existed before now.

It’s pure mayhem and there’s zero fluff. You drop in and start shooting until everything is destroyed, or until they destroy you, then it’s on to the next level. They get more difficult as they go - there are more ships and a greater variety of them further on, and the bigger ones pack more of a punch and are harder to kill. If there’s not many enemy ships left in the wave, just follow the tracers from the capital ships and you’ll be right back into it!

MIBT

MIBT

Game that has kept me entertained in the last hours, that parodies the MIB saga. In reality each stage is overcome in the same way, obtaining 20 X, which are thrown by enemies when falling. But each stage is different, with different traps, and different enemies are added, that shoot, that move faster, with shields …

It can be played in solo or cooperative mode.

Here come the Men in Black…

MIB is the third release from feruloxstudios. They are quietly developing a reputation for developing quirky retro-styled classic arcade games. These are the types of games that those of us who are from Generation X (and Y) typically hold onto as key milestones in our gaming history.

Classically Challenging

One of the important reasons why has to do with just how challenging those games were. The controls would often be quite simple but they’d be nigh on impossible to master. This had both pros and cons. The aggravating con would be that they would eat your quarters if you played them at the arcade and wanted to advance. This, of course, was what they were designed and programmed to do.
