I will have to say, about the font choice–it is a bit difficult to read, especially in a time crunch. The R’s and A’s are too similar, as are the O’s and D’s, the K’s and X’s, and U’s and V’s. By the way, there is a typo in the description before the level starts–“disappear” is spelled wrong, as “disapear”. Besides all of this, the game has great potential. The graphics are simple but very well done, and the increasing speed of the words makes for a great challenge.

New England Detective: Breakfast in Boston

New England Detective: Breakfast in Boston

This is a nice experience. The story, characters, dialogue, it’s all very smart, more than you could expect at first glance, I really encourage everyone to give this a try. No details are overlooked, when new developments happen in the story they take the time to address them and ponder their significance, A smart game.

If you don’t pay too much and don’t expect too much it is a close decision. This is a 5 out of 10 so a tie goes to the runner like in baseball. Too many stereotypes and too little plot. The author does create interest at some points but then it sort of is wasted. One reviewer online trashed it for being unrealistic as he knew something about real police work. I also know something about “real” police work and the thing that struck me as wrong was that the police did not treat him as an enemy. I have hired a number of private investigators and the only ones that the police tolerated were retired police (from that department) that took up private investigation work. But this is not a documentary and we should allow some artistic license to the author. There is no romance or love in this just a tiny bit of sex. This is not a real mystery just a read along and see what happens. You get to make a FEW choices like whether or not to eat peanuts at the bar. Seriously!

Tsundere Idol

Tsundere Idol

This is a +18 visual novel with one single choice. Then I strongly suggest playing it uncensored (otherwise why?).

If you dont like nudity, anime, japanese stuff, masochists or visual novels, this aint for you. If you wanted a long interesting story this aint for you either, is a short eroge japanese video game, centered around a masochist idol.

8.5/10 Visuals.

The best start possible. I could not shave when they talked about the magazine. However, the game is a bit short, but it is well done. Her personality is quite unique, considering how she grew up when she was young. Since the theme of the game was about a single idol, I did not enjoy enjoying more characters, but it’s strange that it was not even shown as an idol.

I’m gonna keep it very short and very.. whatever. I played this game a year ago and I took it again now just for fun xD

Well, I won only one thing in my entire life - European championships for typing speed or something like this. I mean, various titles in the same “competition” type XD

One can probably argue that this is one of the many causes that forced me to undergo surgery three times on my right hand, but this is another story.. xD

Well, I have always typed like at 700-800 characters per minute (NOT WPM, that means WORDS per minute! 800 words per minute I think not even an octopus). So this game was one of my very first choices on Steam.

This game has very great potential and I love the way it’s programmed. It has a very simple design, focusing only on the typing with no superfluous graphic distractions. The amount of modes is nice, and provides variety for those who want a simple game to play, and it also offers multiplayer options with people online. I personally play the Stream Mode, as it lets you know your WPM (since I purchased the game to help me type faster). HOWEVER. At the time of this review, I am VERY disappointed in the word choices: fake words, misspelled words, Roman numerals, acronyms, unnecessary apostrophes, proper nouns that aren’t capitalized, and way too many words about reproductive organs. I’m not sure if users are the ones who contribute to the word lists, but since you have to be online to play this game anyway, I think it would be better if the game just pulled words from an online dictionary instead.

RONIN: Two Souls

RONIN: Two Souls

Played through the whole first Chapter.

Positives:

  • The combat and equipment system in this game is very good.

  • I really liked exploring the island and having random encounters where I have to make decisions.

  • The graphics are great, there are some things to be fixed yet, but this is an early access game!

  • The story is good and has you wanting to explore more and get to know the whole story.

What can be done better:

  • The walking feels a bit chunky, especially with the carts.
