Cathedral 3-D
“I like the aesthetics and bold discount tactics” - My friend Berry
I’ve got to say that this game is really great. I don’t know if there is anything else like it or if it’s emulating a style but that does not matter. Cathedral 3D’s movement, speed, style, and mechanics combine for an awesome time.
The game has a simple tutorial, some would argue to simple. Just get in there and play, figure out routes, learn what attacks work best, and stack combo orbs which give you invincibility, shield, or invincibility for your chest. To reload your health and ammo, you must be holding the chest as you run over the grails. Additionally, your point modifier depletes if you stray to far from the chest.

I’d say this game is well worth your time if youre a fan of arena shooters with a unique spin. Fans of Devil Daggers and the like will feel at home with this fast paced First Person Demon-er.
While the game doesn’t do much in terms of hand holding, there’s a bit to take in mechanic wise at first. But after a few play-throughs and learning the ins and outs on your own its an easy beast to tame. Flying around as a demon in this massive gorgeous cathedral feels so satisfying and blasting away and taking out your foes its a lot of fun.

Aim: Warmup
If there was more care and attention then I may have been swayed by this but the fact you are going up against Aim Lab which is free and have so little to compare against it, you have dug your own grave. Target layouts are too similar, only the option of having a pistol and having just one area or setting to try is hugely disappointing.
But hey, if I ever go pro in CS then I’ll give you a thanks in my speech.

Aim Hero
Having used this now for a week, I would have paid 4 times the price for it. It’s exactly what an app like this should be: Simple, straight forward, small and fast, and configurable enough to do nearly anything you’d want it too. I’m primarily a destiny 2 player these days and trying to get used to a new setup including povohats accel and this has been a godsend. Especially considering that because of health reasons and age (45 years old and serious neurological issues are rarely good for the reflexes and snap judgements. Lol), it’s been a bear of a time clawing back a bit of consistent muscle memory. The app is configurable enough that I was able to sit down and physically measure movement and duplicate in game motion and the results have been astonishing. My aim hasn’t just improved. I can do things I couldn’t even do before, short of doing them by accident.

6 months ago, I was the worst person imaginable at FPS’s, so I purchased this game on steam and played it for 30 minutes a day while listening to podcasts. I went from trash to the 75th percentile for weapon accuraccy, and I am not stopping any time soon. I will continue to use this to train myself religously for the next 4 years.
This being said some of the game modes are useless, penta/simple, with the only mode worth investing time into being reflex. The game is also in need of a better way to track your progress, as the graph only displays your results from the past 15 or so plays, a sniping game mode, and a less random tracking mode that emulates human player movement.

Literally the best speed running game I’ve played in the last 5 years. The feeling of collecting a fruit’s soul is similar to that of sex, I’ve had no better gaming experience in any other game. It massively tops anything else in existence.

ENG:
just a monster. They could put standard levels, like 5 levels with a boss and then a survival mode like this, I hope they update it.

Having spent 79p and 38 minutes on this I can say with confidence that it’s not terrible. It’s an achievement hunter inspired by Devil Daggers, with a machine gun on left mouse button that turns into a shotgun when you click it, and a grenade launcher on right mouse button.
The enemies are stealth zombies who will spawn behind you only announcing themselves with a bird-like chirp, presumably their way of saying ‘nothing personnel, kid.’ What little noise they make is drowned out by your incredibly loud weapon, but they’re slower than you and your gun is powerful enough that if you keep walking forwards and don’t get stuck on anything you’re fine.

All Day Dying: Redux Edition
Tony Hawk’s Pro Shooter.
If that description is enough to get you excited, then you might as well drop the 10 bucks to play it because you’re not going to see anything else like this anywhere else except 2005’s Total Overdose.
The main idea of the game is basically Pro Skater’s career mode: a series of maps that each contain six objectives for the player to beat in 2 minutes or less. These objectives are divided into three “high score” and three “contextual” objectives, the latter of which range from beating the level using a single weapon to finding and completing an off-the-path extra area like a shooting range or a platforming section. Though you can complete multiple objectives in a single run, it’s often not possible to clear all of them in one go, either because the act of completing one requires not doing another or because completing one would require an extremely sub-optimal playthrough of the map, like sprinting past all of the enemies to get to a contextual objective that takes a lot of time to complete. This means that fully completing a map requires replaying it as many times as necessary to get all of the objectives and build enough familiarity to clear it with a high score. There are multiple difficulties, but they only affect the margin of error the player has - faster combo timers, lower health, higher enemy accuracy - and there’s not really much reason to play on a higher difficulty beyond achievements and personal satisfaction.

Too much RNG for a trial game. The time limits are so tight that a single bad shotgun spread roll or an enemy pathing the long way to find you means your run is over. It gets worse later on when projectile enemies are introduced. They have perfect accuracy and fire at set intervals no matter what animation they are in, making you completely at the mercy of what spin jukes the AI decides to do. On linear levels this isn’t as much of a problem since the AI tends to make the same or similar decisions every time. Arena style levels are insufferable as the time limit offers no room for error and enemies are just inconsistent enough to make a quarter of the runs unwinnable from the outset. Tentative recommendation if the developer changed weapon spread such that it was deterministic. A square or round pellet formation on the shotgun or something

Post Void
You run fast, shoot baddies in the face, get an adrenaline rush from the music, and don’t know what emotion to feel or if the emotion needed to fully enjoy this experience even exists. Just like me when McDonald’s won’t let me bathe my naked body in the sods dispenser.

Well, finally completed the game so i assume that makes me creditable for a review.
This game is amazing. Absolutely Amazing. When you first play it, you have no idea where to go and the bright colors distort your eyes. As you play, you get more used to the game and layout, speeding through levels that you struggled with at the beginning. Going through the levels themselves is a huge adrenaline rush due to how fun and fast paced this game is. Would most definitely recommend it to any other adrenaline junkies like me. 10/10 Indie GOTY for me.
