Building 847
A short but thoroughly enjoyable indie storytelling experience!
I wasn’t sure I’d get through it in one sitting, but I found the ambiance very compelling and surprisingly tasteful in all its lighting and sound effects, so I couldn’t stop until the end. Overall, the writing does a great job at introducing what ended up being a rather intriguing story, so it was easy to follow along even without any voice acting.
Very promising. Looking forward for future titles from these devs!

The ambience of this game is through the roof!
Sound quality is good, it really sells you the mystery and the thriller inducing chills imo.
Now i will be describing some of the good and some of the problems and i don’t want to spoil things so play the game 1st then read the next part.
! Some pros:
! * I already told this but the ambience this game delivers is really good from the sound quality and overall gloomy and dark atmosphere really gives this game a boost.* I love detective/mystery games and if there’s a slight thriller/horror vibe to it i love it even more (e.g of games i love detective wise (sam and max, monkey island, the sinking city, wolf among us, the long reach, the last door series, disco elisium etc)).

GET EVEN
Disclosure: I maintain the Walking Simulator group. I played about 75% of them, and I consider myself a bit of an expert in the genre since I fell in love with “Dear Esther” 13 years ago. With 35+ h of gameplay behind me, this is probably the most in-depth review you’ll read.
Summary:
With almost 20 hours of exploration (i played 35, going through multiple’branches'), multiple ending and endless twists and turns, decision trees that impact the storyline while staying ‘true’ to the walking simulator genre, well, “Get Even” colored me bloody impressed! It even allows for perfectly good action/gunplay! I must admit this title totally took me by surprise.

After playing a fair amount, I managed to complete the game and gather most of the collectibles in the game (a few are hidden so well apparently, I failed to find them even after replaying them multiple times).
As for myself, I have waited quite some time for a game with this kind of theme.
This review stays as spoiler free as possible, telling only things that are either given by trailers already, or necessary to get an overall grip over the story line.
Overview
Get Even is a First Person Shooter with simple stealth mechanics. There is a strong focus on a mysterious, thrilling story line which develops into a more and more emotional trip as you progress further into the game. Although the game states being “psychological horror” and a few situations clearly gave me a little jump, you don’t need to prepare yourself for a scary game.

Teomim Island
This was by the far the best single horror, looter, island(er) game out there. The attention to detail; made me want to cry. I highly recommend playing this and supporting the developer!
10 of 10, cant wait until the next one!

Does this game even have a point? The mechanics are terrible, the objectives are not clear at all. Overall not impressed at all and would love my money back if it wasn’t too late. Don’t even waste your time, there are a bunch of much better survival games out there I rather spend my time on.

INDUSTRIA
A stunningly beautiful experience wrapped around an unresolved science-fiction story. It is more of a walking simulator than a combat game.
The main reason to play Industria is to wander through and observe the game world. Everything is gorgeous and evocative. Level design, lighting, and little details all come together to create a very specific atmosphere.
Yes, there is some combat, and it’s fine, but this is really not a combat game. The action is there to enhance the sense of danger and alienation.

The game is quite intriguing, and the plot grabed my attention the whole time. After finishing I left the game wanting to know more about that world, to know exactly what was happening.
Playing through it you can definitely feel how influential the Half Life franchise was to the developers. Be it the opening, the city design and even some sound effects. One important aspect that helps to differentiate it from HL is the main character being voiced (I know Alyx is voice on HL:A but you get what I mean) and imo the VO was good.

Sunflower Code
The dev released the game on Linux when asked about it, which is great! At least on Linux, the game runs in windowed mode only and in hardcoded resolution. While the setting is nice, especially due to Van Gogh paintings, the game is clearly made by beginning gamedev. It’s not bad per se, it’s just good to set your expectations right. The story is simple, the rooms are mostly similar to each other. Some puzzles and hints are somewhat illogical. There are translation bugs and graphical glitches here and there, but the thing really hard to pass over are problematic click targets. These sometimes make it very difficult (still possible, though) to pick up or activate objects, because placing cursor directly over them does not trigger action. You just have to circle your crosshair around to find a right place to click. This is really annoying especially in the last level and for this reason I can’t recommend the game yet.

Update: I have published a guide with translations and solutions to the compass. It is currently awaiting approval. Hope this helps anyone who was stuck!
This game is not for everybody. Avoid if you’re not a fan of puzzles, because there are a ton. Some of which are exceptionally esoteric and obscure. You may end up having to work your noodle a bit harder than normal(giggity) or consulting a walkthrough/video.
There were so many things about this game that tugged at my heartstrings for so many reasons. The biggest one being that it gave me serious Silent Hill vibes.

It is a great game, the atmosphere is amazing for a horror game and the graphics are nice. I would recommend playing the first game before this one for a better understand of the deep and interesting story. But if you just want to play without much of a care for story, just look up a Youtube video on the story for game 1 and play this one. This game is for any skill level gamer, you could be a casual gamer like me and enjoy it or you could be elite gamer and still enjoy it on a higher difficulty. I’m kinda dragging on but I genuinely love this game and I feel it should be shared with others. So if you play it alone or with some buds, you’ll have a good time, quite a few scares and moments where you go “how tf did I miss that!” Btw this is a puzzle game with a nice combat system. So when you finish reading the review I hope I convinced you to get it. I rate it 20/10.

Shadows Peak
It’s scary. It really is. Not so much the jump scares kinda stuff, but more… the running of foot steps across the ground toward you. Tip-toeing through tall grass hoping you step in a bear trap. Sprinting along and hearing the hiss of a snake. And other things I won’t give away!
The game is roughly divided into two parts. The first is maybe a bit better than the second, but don’t listen to the reviews that say the last part is horrible. It definitely is not. There’s nothing that significantly stands out that says “the dev put more time/effort into the first part.”

As some of you may know as much as I love playing games on my PC I also have quite a lot of time for the console exclusive titles. One of my favorite games of 2015 was Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn. Ainslie and I played the shit out of that game. It hooked both of us together and we sat on her couch playing it for many many hours and made a lot of shared decisions to see how our playthrough would advance. It was one of the best gaming experiences the two of us have shared together. I was not expecting to find another horror game that would be comparable to that experience wise for a long time. That’s why when I found myself fortunate enough to play Andrii Vintsevych’s Shadows Peak I was more than a little bit surprised and deeply absorbed in its early access game play.

ValiVictorian
Of all games I have played, I think this is my first negative review. Having paid 5 dollars for this game, I was robbed. The game makes no sense at all. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this game.

After running around the house, not knowing what to do after 15 minutes, i’d figure i would just quit the game. I looked around the house, just to find one key, and open a door that has a puzzle that I didn’t understand. I was also able to glitch outside the map, and into other rooms by going up against a object that’s right next to a wall, and glitch into other rooms, and outside the map. This is was definitely rushed, and was not play tested to find any bugs. Not worth getting.
