GALSAD - Galactic Salvage and Disposal

GALSAD - Galactic Salvage and Disposal

The first title from Wyvern Works, GALSAD hearkens back to the arcade days of Asteroid. While a bit rough around the edges, this game does have some good gameplay and provides even veteran gamers like myself a challenge. This is also only a handful of games that offers realistic space physics. It is this game, Kerbal, and then that is kind of it. All in all, an interesting concept and definitely worth the price of admission.

Snow Strike

Snow Strike

I love being able to play games like this but my problem with these older games is that it doesn’t give you a controls configuration . I literally had to go online to look it up and from my experience finding the a sit the shows the controls was not the easiest thing . I feel like I shouldn’t have to go through such extent to find controls to a game which I already paid for. Steam could at least have the courtesy of tweaking the games to work with more modern configurations because this was no walk in the park . Having to press weird button configurations like * (shift 8) to start my jet engine !!! like seriously what kind of bullsh*t is that and I could go on but if buy and played this game for the first time then you’ll know what I mean.

All Aspect Warfare

All Aspect Warfare

If you want an idea of how infantry conflict (without indirect fire) would be in the future, play this game.

The scenario is that you are one of a surviving team of soldiers/airman (there’s one pilot among you) on a planet that is essentially a live-fire training area for an enemy race’s military.

Yep, an entire planet that’s really one big impact area with a few bases scattered on it.

How did you get there? Well, the spaceship that you were on was carrying a planet buster to plant on the enemy home world (yeah, the war’s going that badly) was damaged en-route and crashed here. After arming the planet buster, of course.

This was actually a fascinating concept back in 2009 and I even had some fun playing it. Unfortunately the bugs were never fixed and it is left a broken mess. The fact that the developer appears to have been actively working to remove bad reviews from the store page makes it quite obvious that the game is never going to get the love it requires and as such my only recommendation can be to spend your money elsewhere.

Cyber Defense 2088

Cyber Defense 2088

This was absolutely a fun game! I thought the concept was really cool, coming from the mobile tower defense world it was definitely an adjustment.

The game itself was visually pleasing, there weren’t any bright blinding lights, everything you needed menu wise while not actively fighting in game was condensed into one area. There’s a little bit of lore to the game, not hugely interactive as far as storyline goes but it sets the right pace and for the type of game it is, didn’t really need it.

Aquanox Deep Descent

Aquanox Deep Descent

Aquanox Deep Descent is the attempt to revive an older franchise. It began with a game named Archimedean Dynasty, released in 1996. 2 Sequels followed, under the new brand name of Aquanox.

All of those games were quite similar to the “three degrees of freedom” space simulation games that came up roughtly at the same time, but tried to put themselves apart by not going up, but rather down. All three might be considered aaa titles considering the amount of work and effort, as well as content they provided at the time. Even though their success probably fell short of that.

Overview

Aquanox Deep Descent (ADD) is a semi-open world shooter set underwater, after the world endured the “Last Day” - an apocalyptic event where most of humanity perished and the rest was forced into oceanic depths. Players impersonate Kaelen, one of the chosen few to be preserved in stasis for centuries, now woken up by unclear circumstances. After a dangerous escape, he and his companions - left without most memories - decide to embark on a quest to find the answers about their past, forging alliances and facing many dangers along the way.

Futuridium EP Deluxe

Futuridium EP Deluxe

Futuridium EP Deluxe:

Some people like flying, some people have outstanding reflexes. Well, if this is one of your combinations, “Futuridium EP Deluxe” is going to be fun and challenging for you, my friends!

Futuridium EP Deluxe is an action / space type of game where you take control of a spaceship. You will have to shoot sky blue squares, located on, under and around large vessels, as fast as possible to reveal its core (white cube), destroy it and win the level! You will have 50 to clear in total.

Hm, strange how this game doesn't have more praise! I think it's awesome! Fast-paced and adrenaline-pumping with a great classic arcade feel!

Not that there aren't a fair few other games that shoot for that same goal, but I think this one does it particularly well!

Highly recommended! As for how much I think it's worth paying for it… I paid less than £1.50 but it's definitely worth more than that I think ^^

## Zerograve

Visuals are crisp and clear, game design is very intentional. Sense of space in this game is a bit more open that traditional decent clones, and level designs offer unique combat encounter which will always challenge the player while offering opportunities to innovate tactically. If you are not a fan of the neon aesthetic or feel like the graphics are too simplistic, don't let that dissuade you. Heck of a lot of fun to play with a HOSAS setup.

Shoot your way through a neon maze filled with hostile drones and battle robot bosses with cool weapons. It's highly addictive and after each completed stage I was thinking one more! Catchy music too.

## Alien Dawn

Edited/Update: I had a lot of fun running with the developers (Christian and Jes) the day after writing this review :D We completed my first (and currently only) escape. I've been playing it daily ever since, determined to stay alive as long as possible before completing a second escape. I've made it a few days. I just wanted to say this is a really unique game and if I may add a suggestion, I would really love to pick up the enemy heads after shooting them off. I've seen numerous basketball courts around the map and it would be a healthy pastime. It'd be better if I could put them in a backpack but I won't push it. I won't push it. You're the best.

If you are a lurker, like I am, then this is the review for you.

This game is made by a duo, two people. What has been achieved here is rather impressive with the amount of systems they have in place. From having a reliable Desktop and vr mode, to the humble animation of eating something, there are many things going on under the hood that many may miss. Sure, there are going to be bugs especially since this has just recently released on early access.

Early access is meant to be a time to support the development, and to directly help shape the game. This game is no exception, the developers are wonderful human beings, who listen to you and genuinely enjoy spending time with people. One of the most impressive things I've seen these devs do, is on a few occasions, invite those who have negative experiences to the discord to chat about where the problems lie. These devs acknowledge there are problems and acknowledge that feedback is one of the more important tools in their toolbox. I see these devs going a long way with the attitudes I have observed thus far, even before I directly engaged with them.

## Lost in Space

How many times I don't play a space game, it engages me extremely much in its gameplay. This game does just that, it's very comfortable, the space is directly mesmerising).

I would recommend playing a game like this in the evening.

First of all, I want to note the visual part of the game, it looks quite good for an indie project, especially space. As for the gameplay side, the game definitely needs improvement, in my opinion it is not very loyal to the player, lacks interface elements, etc. In short, if you buy the game at a discount, then its great for spending a couple of evenings
