Containment Initiative

Containment Initiative

I’m a big fan of zombie shooters, and so I offered to help test the game when the dev was looking for feedback.

Containment Initiative’s big differentiating feature from other zombie shooters is the gunplay mechanics, in particular the reloading. You get the same pressure as in other games with zombies coming at you, but now you have to manage working your gun correctly, and it seems so perfectly suited for VR. A few other VR games are going this direction, but this is the first time I think that it’s been applied to a zombie shooter.

I was a bit skeptic about this game at first, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. I originally was just looking for a co-op game to play with my friend and it really delivered. The ability for a friend to play as a support unit on the PC screen was a pretty clever mechanic that I really appreciated. My favorite game mode is scavenge since you can move around and explore. There’s not a huge variety of weapons and enemies, but I didn’t expect anything crazy. The story isn’t amazing either, but it follows a progression that leads up to a post where you have to get a sample of the virus to find a cure. I hope to see this game develop more or more games that follow this co-op mechanic.

ESCAPE FROM VOYNA: Tactical FPS survival

this game sucks

do’s and don’ts if you still wanna buy:

  • do always run to the right edge of each map and just go forward, this way you avoid most enemies and reach the exit of the level.

  • don’t try to screenshot, the game will instantly crash

  • don’t try to walk in water, you will be locked in place and will have to restart the map

  • don’t complete any mission as you will have to restart the entire game to progress as the mouse disappears.

it took me 1.3hrs to complete this mess even with all the bugs involved

I am not really sure who this game is for.

However, it works, the presents attack, you kill them.

Releasing a Christmas game in July feels weird but it is cheap and works like it says it does.

As a man with slightly more than my fair share of hours on this marvelous experience, I believe I am one whomst beholdth the adequate knowledge to place a well thought out and honest review on this product. As previously stated, I have quite the record playing this game…and that is for a meritorious reason! This game…this formulation of bits and bytes of data, has amounted to even more than I ever thought possible in this feckless existence of ours. It has risen within me a purpose…a will to live. God blesseth this divine creation for the merits it has brought to my life…HUZZAH I SAY!!

What a fantastic game, honestly. Through 15 hours ive yet to encounter any bugs what so ever. Im a very big fan of the soundtrack and sound effects. The main theme actually makes a fantastic ringtone. I can see myself continuing to hop onto this game and try a speed run attempt anytime im bored and looking for something to kill some time on

So far I’ve only made it to shutter mode but I adore this game, the overall atmosphere is so cool and creative & the gameplay is simple but rewarding. A+

edit: hi, about a year later and i wanted to add to my review! I still, amazingly, haven’t made it past living walls mode (not for lack of trying) but this is honestly one of my favorite games of all time, very special. It strikes the perfect balance of having very minimal mechanics while still being HARD and enjoyable in a way that u wanna keep working at it til u win. and honestly, what’s better than being chased down a hallway?

PLAY BY THEIR RULES OR DIE BY THEM.

This game has a way of slowly revealing its secrets to you. In a way a spiritual successor to Slender, It Steals drops you into each gamemode with very little information, and it’s up to you to infer what actions will let you survive and what will cost you. The gameplay is extremely tense, the AI will constantly keep you on edge in any of the available gamemodes, and the secrets will keep you coming back for more. It’s a steal of a price, and more content may be coming yet. 10/10.

OMFG: One Million Fatal Guns

OMFG: One Million Fatal Guns

It really is a lot of fun! My favorite part would definitely be the movement mechanics, and any gun with “Party-Time” (because I like confetti) or “Recoiling” because it gives me the ability to fly, which is pretty awesome and pretty hilarious.

The only thing that really throws me off is that it makes my computer heat up like crazy, even more than Destiny 2 does… and I can’t figure out why. I tried avoiding any weapon with the adjective “Spider Queen’s” which certainly helped, but did not solve the problem at all. For reference: I have an Omen laptop, and I use a cooling stand with one big fan in it. I know that laptops are notorious for overheating, but something about OMFG makes my laptop get really hot in the space of half an hour. This doesn’t detract too much from the experience, though.

(EDIT) read post below for last review. also hi from the current 1st place spot BLU (weird flex i know)

i enjoyed this game for what it tried to do and what it did. i though the whole “every gun is unique” thing would be a thing in here but soon found out that no. not every gun is “unique” i don’t understand the point of auto pickup in the game if you can find something that’s fun to use and can one shot and not a $&#&#$^ revolver for the love of god please can i get something that does damage.

Rule No. 1

Rule No. 1

Real fun game, appropriately price, with a cool OST that you can change on the fly, loads of guns, and a fun main character with many awesome (and some really silly) one liners. Rule No. 1 is still in Early Access but haven’t really run into any bugs myself. The pixel art is a nice throwback to classical games, with many nods to games like Blood and Shadow Warrior in the one liners, and many movie quips. The first game mode is wave based, and you begin fighting explodey shapes that get progressively harder, and more enemy variants appear the further you get, until it turns into an absolute cluster of stuff flying all over the place. The devs are also great, as they seem to keep working hard on it, and are very responsive to the communities feedback to make the best possible game out of their concept. They recently added another game-mode for shooting some hoops xD, which I didn’t expect but it works really well, and is a quick way to grind some exp. I can’t wait to see what other game modes they’ll be adding to this, and hope to see some kind of campaign someday even if it’s in a different game altogether hint hint. The character is fun enough that I’d like to see her in some kind of campaign of sorts in a similar vein to some of the games she gives nods to. I’m really glad I bought Rule No. 1 on a whim because it’s definitely been worth a shot, and it’s only going to get better!

For $2.99, you get:

  • The chance to take out your frustrations on innocent geometric shapes and pixel enemies;

  • An inventory full of guns to explode said enemies (pistols, shotguns, rifles, LMGs, musical grenade launchers, and more);

  • Twitchy controls, double-jumping, and air-dashing;

  • Slow-motion on killing sprees;

  • Runs that descend into high-octane bullet hells;

  • A bopping soundtrack to blow things up to (you can toggle between genres with a hotkey);

  • Multiple game modes, like actual basketball!

BEAT ‘EM DOWN

BEAT ‘EM DOWN

The game is great but there are some things that need to be improved upon. when you try and sync your shots with the beats there is no leeway to the shot after the beat. It should be a small (70ms more or less) range around the beat rather than just the small leeway given before the beat. Sometimes I would die and I wouldn’t show the “game over”/ “you died” screen so I’d have to manually quit, but it’s not that much of a hassle. Other than that I haven’t encountered anything game breaking, but how do more people have the easter egg gun before any of the other achievements, like damn son.

Captain Clive: Danger From Dione

Super fun and a lot of content for one developer! The formula is simple: kill wave after wave of enemies and buy sick weapons that will help you kill even more. There’s also a ton of features and depth of interactions in the map, although there is only one. If you’re looking for a casual yet engaging game to pick up, this is the one

From the variability in guns to the complex plays needed in order to survive, this game has plenty of replayability. Every time I think I have the meta down it all changes in a few rounds when new enemies arrive, when I discover something else I can buy from the one of the stores, or a feature I did not realize was in the game is actually in the game. The game has plenty of options to allow for bad computers to run it fine up into high waves and still have look decent. I find the gameplay changes completely once you switch from third person to first person or vice versa. So don’t worry about this game not being enough because you can always shake it up a little bit more.

Promising little game from a new developer! Excited to see more - it’s really tough but my son and I got addicted to trying to get past the first area. We managed to get the star and almost back to the beginning but haven’t completed that first level….yet!

Can’t wait to see more.
