Ok I’m fully supporting these devs because this is really the only way that we are likely to get a good football sim on the PC. EA has exclusive deals with NFL and NCAA and will never port to the PC. MS is trying to make make exclusive deals with 2K so that they can have sports games exclusive to xb1 and MS10. In addition It looks like MS is trying to start yet again their own distribution network for the PC that will only run on xb1 and MS10.

I don’t like this environment where you are being forced to buy a console or upgrade an OS just so you can play games. If you are like me and don’t like the way this is going then you need to support indie developers like this who are really trying to make a difference.

First off I would like to say that I think the passing mechanic is the best innovation to the football genre in over a decade. I just wish that the rest of the game was as well fleshed out. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had fun with the game, but it feels like it should be in early access or a promotional tool to get a kick-stater going and not something being sold as a finished retail product. Also, it’s awesome that this game supports Xbox One controllers.

For me it just has too many issues to recommend it at $20, which puts it in the same class of competition as games like Rocket League and SuperMega Baseball. But at a discount it is worth checking out but bear in mind it does have a few glitches and bugs here and there.

Alright firstly,

Massive improvement from the first evolution, i feel like the gameplay is very fair and if you mess up a marking contest it’s genuinely your fault. So good job from a gameplay stand point which is the reason i very much like this game.

HOWEVER…

Wicked Witch seem to just brush past some major details about this game where it seems like no effort was put in whatsoever. Here’s a list of those:

1, Commentating is even worse than evolution 1 the audio is pieced together so poorly it’s hard to listen to, also one player from the saints, hannenbury doesn’t even have his name called when he gets possession or kicks a goal, it just says. “great goal from….” as in he doesnt say the name. I think the commentating was honestly better on afl 2006 for the PS2, how is that possible?

I like this game. I’m a footy fan and decided to get this cause of the fact that I can change guernsey numbers for players. There are some suggestions I would make. I’d love to see them implemeted but it doesn’t bother me too much.

  • I’d like to be able to outright delist players in coach career mode. Even if they are on a contract (If they are, make me pay out the rest of the contract’s money or something) Perhaps I just don’t know how to do this. If so I’d like to be enlightened.

  • Please put in the Australian anthem that they use in real life AFL finals. That would be nice. Understandable if you can’t cause of legal reasons. This version is shit though.

Having so much fun with this game… as far as non-NFL, non-Madden games go, this is top notch. I’ve been turned off of Madden for a long time, so this game has been awesome to see progress to the point it is at now.

It’s not perfect, but it’s fun and that’s all that really matters. Gameplay is fast and smooth - it reminds me a bit of Tecmo Bowl back in the day. The aimed passing is a lot of fun, I still have to get around to setting up my controller with joy2key so I can combine controller movement with mouse aimed passing… then I think I will have the perfect set up.

This is the only cheap American football game on the market as of now. When I saw it, I was ecstatic! I wanted a football game for the PC so badly. While it’s nice to have a game that can compete with Madden in some form or another, I have to admit: This game is nowhere close to Madden as far as animation quality, lack of bugs, AI quality, etc. You can do far more in Madden than in this game. It’s insanely buggy, and the AI is not on the same level as Madden. If you want to decide your own defensive plays, expect to see safeties and CBs just giving up on recievers. Even IF they keep with their target reciever, you will never see an interception… EVER. At least when it’s your safeties. You’ll get picked off over and over and over again. Juking and power plays are lackluster, and rarely work. If you decide to simulate a season (which you can do, and I’m so glad you can), and if the team you chose doesn’t reach the playoffs, there is no way to simulate past that point. You have to delete that Franchise Mode save, and start over.

I like this game, I really do. However, I do have some complaints.

  1. The kicking game is not well thought out.

  2. Whoever said this game is based on physics is way off base. I don’t know how many times my guy gets caught and tackled from behind and yet I can’t catch up to a guy. OR when I have a clear path to the QB by both LB he some is able to step out of the way and run the ball passed both guys and then he is able to find a hole and get passed my linemen for a gain of 10 or more yards. So that doesn’t make sense, especially when when I do a running play and I try to sidestep or speed burst and automatically get tackled.

It really hard to recommend this as rough as it is. It’s kind of hard to call it a football game as rough as it is.

Smoothing & Polish there is none.

Everything is extremely abrupt and rough. The animations the transitions. The menus. Nothing is polished nothing feels finished and nothing feels complete. Getting a TD feels like whiplash as it jump cuts to an endzone dance, at break neck speed. They should of spent less time on endzone dances and more time on collision boxes.Which is seems like they did. Instant replay’s are a button press option given at random by the game. So if you want to watch that move or hit again. FORGET IT. Much less saving them. They’ve not yet offered me a replay on a play I actually wanted to see. Individual player stats are also given at random by the game. And only your teams basic stats and run pass breakdown are given in game.

Credit where credit is due, I was enjoying this game until I encountered a game breaking bug so I wrote a negative review that detailed the bug to warn potential purchasers .

Skip forward less than 2 weeks and not only did they fix the bug but a member of the dev team replied to my review to let me know it had been fixed, I had kept the save and so I tried it and sure enough everything seems back on track and I am more than happy to recommend this game, And now I know we have a Dev team that listen, well makes it 2 thumbs up from me

I have been playing FM and FM Touch for 9 years and have put in thousands of hours. I think that this is probably the best version I have played. It is fair to the human manager in that it doesn’t give too much advantage to the AI. The injuries and the player demands are reasonable. So all around , it is an enjoyable game to play.

There are two things that, if fixed, would make the next version even better. They both deal with the game engine and how it plays out throw-ins. First, if your team has a throw-in very near your own end line, the player to whom it is thrown puts the ball back to the throw-in taker and it almost always ends up as an offside. That is not how the game really works.

Soccer Manager 2021

This Game is incredible! It cheats your team to perform much worse than it would, just to trick you into pay to win. Or can you imagine any scenario were a team from first league loses against a tam from 5th league while the ratings are almost twice as good?

Another example… after one season of playing for your team (who just won the national cup, the national championships and a euro cup, one of your best players suddenly loses his form because he wants to play in a “more succesful team”… no matter what you try, that will ruin his mood and his shape. Then finally, you give in and grant him his wish, putting him on the transfer list. The reaction is… the player is UPSET because you put him on the transfer list! LOL.

Real player with 383.4 hrs in game

General gameplay is ok, especially for a free game, but then after my first mid-season transfer window one of the new players I bought just disappeared. After grieving my lost hours I decided to start a new campaign, only to see that the manager I created already started with the level of experience I left off with. I couldn’t see any way to start a new manager, so here I am uninstalling the whole thing. Now I probably just won’t download it again. All because Football Manager is not available in my country…..

Draft Day Sports: College Football 2021

This game is almost great. I guess if you do not pay attention to what happens during the game it would be fine. Calling plays and watching what happens almost ruins the whole game. An example of the absurd simulation. My star wide out got a broken skull on a false start play. The sim just does not run football plays at times stupid things happen all the time.. I think the game shines in recruiting and if you just sim the games without calling plays etc…. A very timid thumbs up for me.

Real player with 877.3 hrs in game

There are a lot of good ideas here, but there also doesn’t seem to be a lot of forward progress on issues that have bogged down games of a similar nature for the past 2+ decades. Recruiting is cumbersome and time consuming, but entirely formulaic and un-fun, if you’re attempting to take control of it for yourself (which you will have to do in order to guard against the randomness of the AI’s signings). Program prestige seems to move too quickly for non-Power 5’s and at a glacial pace for Power 5 schools who don’t reach the national title game. (I seriously booked 4 consecutive 10-win seasons, 3 of which came when my boosters weren’t expecting them, and the program prestige never budged). Game simulations appear to be much too balanced, allowing for a wide degree of randomness to creep in to overall seasons and hosts of 2- and 3-loss conference champions. Being able to take in-game control of which offensive and defensive plays are called is a boost, but there’s not enough information given to make meaningful in-game adjustments, nor is there a way to substitute players on the fly in the game outside of your pre-set package configurations and depth charts. Ultimately though, the game play problem here is the same as with all other football games to date – certain plays simply work consistently better than others and, once identified, can be employed and overused without apparent penalty or meaningful reaction from the opposition. And if you’re a rankings watcher, I assure you the top 25 bounces around in this game to the same annoying level it does in so many other college football sims.

Having played arguably the best sports management sim for many years (Football Manager), i wanted to give American Football a go. I thought the stat based way the game is played could work well, and I had a fairly good understanding of the sport and rules and with all sports games, this makes the better to play.

The short answer is I am 1 season in and its a very good game. It nails the stats, rosters, draft and contracts well. Real players are used and helps me research those I don’t know (which to be fair is most of them). The game engine works well and provides realistic scores, yardage and occasional gems like returning a punt for TD. You can also edit team names and emblems, which is easy to do. I just do a couple more each time I play

Real player with 145.9 hrs in game

This game is moving in the right direction very quickly. I was a customer of the 2020 version but only played it sporadically and it never really excited me, but my first attempt at a solo franchise in this year’s iteration has given me some of the best excitement I’ve ever had with a football game.

Just to mention that I am a player who likes to playcall my own games, so I’m probably not like most players of this game who will most likely be quick simming. In last year’s version, it was a bit tough to play the way I wanted to, but the in-match display has been completely redesigned and it’s made playing “my way” a lot of fun. For the most part, the feel of the games seems very authentic and comes close to what you would see in real-life games.

update 28/07: dev kicked me from his discrod server for giving him a bad review…I wouldn’t recommend to buy this game anymore.

If you are interested in an oldschool soccer manager, this could your game. But…

There is still some devleopment, but mostly balance.

There is no more development on the technical side. The dev states that there will be a new game, which will have also some technical improvements.

So my advise is: wait for the second part

Since I Have over 100 or so games purchased on STEAM, I feel qualified to give an accurate analysis on any game I have purchased ! This developer has made one of the BEST SOCCER game I could ever buy !!!! I cannot believe that someone could even think that This Is not worth $5 I am a 76 yr old guy who been around and have purchased so many games in my life that I know have been not worth it at all ! Saying that this game is not worth the price is an insult to the inventor of this game. I hope that he will ignore the complaints, because he has a GREAT GAME that a lot of people will find out ! I do not know the inventor of this game, so this is not a fanboy response !!! As to my age, I would like to throw out a challenge to anyone on this forum to tell me who ALF was !!! He was a character on TV in the 70s !!!
