Wetlands

Wetlands

When I saw this game appear on Steam, a long forgotten memory came back to me! This is actually my very fist video game! I remember when my parents bought me my first PC, this “new game” was delivered with the PC. I didn’t like it because it was too difficult (for a 9 year old). The cutscenes are excellent, beautiful cartoony style, but the gameplay itself is a very bland railshooter … which is fine, I guess … but if you don’t care to play this game (which is a challenge if approached without nostalgia glasses), then just watch the cutscenes on YouTube. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2536351711

Corpse Killer - 25th Anniversary Edition

Corpse Killer - 25th Anniversary Edition

Very nice shooter, simple stuff, shoot zombies, watch cutscenes, fight bosses, win the game.

Good to see it in it’s full resolution glory, it’s pretty short but fun to have a playthrough.

Has a few bugs, but they didn’t bug me too much.

The bonus content is great, hours of behind the scenes footage, makes you appreciate the effort that went into the makeup, sets and filming.

Another Digital Pictures 25th anniversary re-release, another nostalgic trip to my childhood. I love FMV games in general, and fully support these releases because I want more in the future! I’ve already put about 8 hours on the game, and have really enjoyed playing through it and unlocking bonus behind the scenes extras.

Although the game is definitely playable, there are bugs, and like releases in the past, the developer isn’t really on top of fixing them. There are still problems with Night Trap and Double Switch that I don’t think will ever be addressed, and I don’t see this being different.

Whiteboyz Wit Attitude: The Pursuit of Money

Whiteboyz Wit Attitude: The Pursuit of Money

This game is a life changer. Before this I was always sad. Then I heard the Whiteboyz were making a game. This game saved my life. I cannot thank you enough Whiteboyz. Thank you for this hidden gem that got thrown under all of the triple A trash. I love you Whiteboyz. You are now my favorite music group. I can now gladly say that Whiteboyz Wit Attitude: The Pursuit of Money is now my favorite game of all time. 3

Edit: I have been playing this game for months now. I have been loving this game so much. It is extremely flawless-from the uncapped framerate, stunning visuals, incredible dancing from the “Whiteboyz Wit Attitude.” I can confirm that this game is a one of a kind story with an amazing story. It really makes you feel like you are the “Whiteboyz Wit Attitude.” I would recommend this game 10 times over and I feel like everyone should play this in their life at some point. I love the “Whiteboyz Wit Attitude” and I can officially say I am in love with them. I have wrote over 23.5281 fanfictions about them. I can only imagine the amount of girls these 2 beautiful men can pull. I wish they would just pull me instead. ♥ :3

This game changed the way I view the world.

Whiteboyz Wit Attitude: The Pursuit of Money, the first real 10/10 game of our generation.

Long Review

When I play the game, Whiteboyz Wit Attitude: The Pursuit of Money, I don’t feel sad, or mad anymore, I just feel immense happiness that can only be experience by playing this very game. Everyday I wake up and play Whiteboyz Wit Attitude, and feel like everything’s going to be okay. Once you listen to “Wear The Purp” you get to learn the hippest dance ever, and I mean EVER, this song is a masterpiece among songs now of days, where they’re not equally as great. Dare I say “Wear The Purp” alone puts, Queen to shame. Then when you’re thinking, “There can’t be anything greater than “Wear The Purp”, They hit you with Mt. Vernon, Illinois, honestly you have to listen to it for yourself, or you can’t understand why this album is so great, and why, Whiteboyz Wit Attitude, are the physical embodiment of masterful music, and why they’ll be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Finally, the last song of this masterful album, “Moneyz in the Bank (For Real) its great song, but the thing that puts this on top, is the gameplay, I haven’t been talking about the gameplay, because if I were to, then this review would be to long, but I have to talk about the gameplay for, “Moneyz in the Bank (For Real), because it just TOO skillful, and polished, for instance how the people in the back dance to the beat, which gave it more depth, and I really felt like I was there, as a DJ or sorts, and it shows how great, Whiteboyz Wit Attitude are at making games, which this game probably took, 5-15 years, and that’s just creating the music. Don’t get me started on gameplay, which to be honest is so new and “hippy” that there can’t be anything like it, Whiteboyz Wit Attitude created their own style of game, and as you can see it rival, the new Triple-A games. People may be wait for the new GTA, but true men know the thing to wait for is the new, Whiteboyz Wit Attitude, Game/Album, which will in turn BRAKE the internet. The game is a 10/10 game, and if I could, it would be more, but a more accurate rating would be 100/10 in the very least.

System and Setup:

Windows 10 64bit

Intel Core i9 10900K

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER

  • “Enable Steam Overlay” had to be disabled. Otherwise, the game wouldn’t acknowledge my gamepads. Confirmed to work for the DualShock4 and XBox One Controller.

(Right click the game in your library, select “Properties”, uncheck the box beside “Enable Steam Overlay”.)

  • “dosbox_rebel.conf” was opened with Notepad and the sensitivity line was modified from “sensitivity=100” to “sensitivity=60” This should make Rebel Assault I easier to control with a mouse, but YMMV.

STAR WARS™: Rebel Assault I:

The game puts you in the shoes of Rookie One, a new soldier that is learning the basics of fighting for the resistance.

After some basic training (Flying, Shooting), the game puts you straight into the Battle of Hoth & the Battle of Yavin, where you are eventually tasked with destroying the first Death Star.

Most levels are about 2 to 5 minutes long, but the difficulty of the game definitely makes most stages longer than that.

The game does not feature checkpoints after you finish a level, rather the game gives you codes (checkpoints) that you receive every 3 to 4 levels, and these can be entered on the menu screen.

Mystic Midway: Rest in Pieces

Mystic Midway: Rest in Pieces

First of all I’ve played a lot more than 2 hours.. I owned Mystic Midway back when it was on the Phillips CD-I and honestly I can tell you that its one of the best shooting galleries there is.. between levels Doctor Derth taunts you and you’ll find yourself coming back from time to time to challenge the Mystic Midway over again! Basically, it’s a lot of fun!

Brings back memories of the old Phillips CDi and this is a great time waster which actually plays better on PC because of the mouse controls. Be aware that the trailer footage is taken from the CDi and this MS Dos version is considerably more pixelated as you’d probably expect. Glad to see Pixel Games UK releasing some of these old school retro gems at a decent price. #ItsShowtime

Cyberia

Cyberia

A great classic which aged terribly.

This Cyberpunk themed Action/Adventure augments rail shooter action scenes with adventure exploration and puzzle elements for an enjoyable, albeit all too brief experience. An odd feature is the game having 2 difficulty settings, one for “Arcade” and the other for “Puzzle”, both scaling from 1-3. One can not set both difficulties to “1” as the game informs you would be “too easy”.

Highs:

A cheap classic.

A fine historical blast from the past.

Fun rail shooter bits.

It’s EXACTLY as I remember, not better or worse – I suppose it deserves to be called a graphic adventure game with action scenes. The voice acting is cheesy, the 1990s CGI looks hideous and plastic, you probably die a lot and…

There’s this element of masochism involved in playing Cyberia – take one late puzzle disguised as an action sequence, for instance, where you have to pick the right doors and eliminate enemies in the rooms so you can proceed. Pick a wrong door and you get a video clip of you getting shot in the back. Repeat a couple of times. For some reason, you don’t get a save point nearer to it, so you have to rinse and repeat through a different puzzle as well.
