BLUE SABERS: Early Mission

BLUE SABERS: Early Mission

Overview

Use conventional and three types of special weapons to overcome difficult situations.

Take control of the battlefield with support aircraft!

Long-established STG development team, Blue&White, the first new one in 13 years, and a new origin!

Story

More than a decade of warfare between the MUltinational COmpanys Community (MUCOC) and the International Unification Treaty Organization (IUTO) has left both sides exhausted and A stalemate had been reached.

To break the deadlock, the MUCOC fleet gathered its remaining forces and launched Operation Earth Descent.

Although the IUTOs were allowed to descend, they put up a desperate resistance to prevent the expansion of the front line.

However, there were not enough surplus forces, and the counter-offensive was left in the hands of a mish-mash of new recruits and reserve forces.

The name of the unit was the “Blue Sabres”.

Thus the battle later known as “Second MUCOC War” has began.

Gameplay

The main point of the game is how to make a way with powerful weapons and supply.

Break out of a difficult situation by mastering three types of special weapons, which are limited to normal armament and singular numbers.

Calling for your support aircraft, Garuda, allows you to refuel your special weapons and restore your ship’s shields.

The key to victory is the timing of calling the Garuda.

Features

  • A shmup with a unique supply system.

  • Dynamic camera work with 3D graphics added to the 2D shooting experience.

  • 7 stages + Tutorial

  • 6 ships + 2 support aircrafts

  • Gamepad supported.

Excellent. Been waiting for a remaster of this game for awhile. It’s perfect. Has Nuanced and noticeable improvements made everywhere that should be worthy for any real gamer and fan of original. I play at 6k (4320x2440 resolution w/ triple 27” asus rog QHD 2k 165htz O.C. monitors in rotated portrait mode) and it runs gloriously and feels butter vision smooth. I am crossing my fingers that it will play natively well like it does now for me at 6k when I finally upgrade my system to 10k resolution (7200 h x 2440 v). I’m getting up to my max 165 FPS play on a rtx2080 and average at 145 maybe more @ 6k. Well worth the purchase at current under $10.

SkyDrift was the game that made me join Steam 5 years ago.

I was used to pirate games, but then I found this little gem and wanted to play multiplayer so much, I ended up coming to Steam, and never left since then.

Back then, the original was so cool, and it had a good community, not many people played, but you could always find a room with at least 4 people.

With time, the servers got extremely unstable, to the point it was impossible to finish any race online. Singleplayer was still awesome.

Astrodogs

Astrodogs

TL;DR : Never played a StarFox game, but this goofy, chill little dog game makes me want to.

What is this funny little dog shooty game?

Astrodogs is a 3D, forward moving, on-rails shooter with enough charm to change your attitude for the entire day. The game revolves around 8 or so small stages with unique aesthetics, designs, music, enemies and bosses. (My personal favourites are Barkstille and Barkadia.)

I’ve never played something like this before, is it difficult?

At first, yes. But if you keep at it, you’ll learn the levels, you’ll learn the 5 techniques you need to know (4 different “special” attacks and a bullet-time mechanic). The bosses all have a gimmick to them which at first, is SUPER annoying, because you’ll be tanking damage and dealing none, but you’ll figure it out and feel like even Einstein is no match for your superior intellect.

As a die hard fan of Star-Fox. There hasnt been any games to come out that capture the on rails space shooting magic. This game does! I love the levels, music, controls and overall humour. A real treat!

Hard2Fly is like Civilization.

In Civilization, you always feel like “one more turn”. Then you realize you played for much longer than you intended.

I am an Air Traffic Controller 4

Excellent game. can’t stop playing it

Needs a few tweaks is all

1. I have multiple monitors, would love approach on one screen, ground on another and airport on another . not all crammed into a single screen

2. Why can’t we put approaching aircraft into holding pattern if we don’t want them to land ? Standard stuff.

3. Freeplay shouldn’t end after too many errors .

4. Freeplay should also allow us to choose the intensity of the timetable, you simply cant do Tokyo in the middle of the day on your own , I’m sure several ATC staff handle those area’s in the real world

Short Version:

8/10, looking forward to expansion packs

Long Version:

This might be the best ATC game on steam (that is not primarily focused on radar usage).

In Japan, this dev has released numerous games not only in this series, but also previous instalments of this series such as I am an Air Traffic Controller 1 through 3 (ATC 1-3) and other series such as Pilot Story. It is also worth noting that this dev had released multiple Japanese Airport add-ons for FSX, showing that they are quite experienced in terms of aviation in Japan and 3D-modelling.

XTHRUST

XTHRUST

An excellent example of “easy to learn, difficult to master” gameplay.

You pilot a rocket-powered drone using only two buttons - one for each engine. The challenge comes from alternating, combining and timing the use of these engines to skilfully navigate through the various single player and multiplayer tracks competing for the best time.

The current amount of single player content isn’t spectacular, with only 4 tutorial levels and 6 other levels. However each level offers a bonus objective that can be challenging and adds to replayability.

Real player with 10.7 hrs in game

TL; DR: A game with easy to learn but very difficult to master controls is bogged down with a dead multiplayer, a grindy XP and coin collecting system, and a very minimal amount of effort in singleplayer content (a grand total of 15 levels you will get nowhere near the top time on, some you won’t even be able to complete the extra “achievement challenge”, because they, too require a ton of grinding). There’s also microtransactions for coins but with a dead multiplayer I don’t really see the point of purchasing them.

Conundrum

Conundrum

Conundrum is another Construct 2 asset flip from serial copy+paste spam artists, wow wow Games. All these guys do is copy game templates and projects from Construct 2, change a few things/fill out the template, then try to gouge as much money as they can from someone else’s work. They have run these asset/template flip copy+pastes half a dozen times now.

This time they’ve ripped off a basic template for a block drop mobile app puzzle game (it’s a tutorial on the Construct web page for doing mobile physics). Asset flips and other “Fake games” (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers.

Stormworks: Build and Rescue

Stormworks: Build and Rescue

the game is generally good and i enjoy playing it but it has its fair amount of downsides too, but i am only making this review to complain that they changed how rocket fuel tanks looks, because it seems that they failed to realize that players have been using the rocket fuel tanks for decoration and now when it became simplified it just looks stupid. and there is no way to use the old ones. :(

Honest review from someone who has put a huge amount of time into this game

  • Badly optimised, crashes are fairly common.

  • Multiplayer mostly unplayable due to desync between clients.

  • Base game content is lacking after they pulled the original missions

  • Original purpose of the game entirely lost and forgotten by the devs based on a single discord poll

As much as I had no issues with the weapon DLC coming as it could’ve added some real great additional content but sadly the entire focus has been on the weapons.

The Falconeer

The Falconeer

Alright, here’s the dealio, I saw this game before it was released and was instantly enamored by open world flying and dog fighting mechanics (something I’ve dabbled in before and liked). I followed it very closely until it released and bought it almost immediately when it was available. At first I used a controller to play the game, unsure if keyboard and mouse worked (my preferred method), it was a bit wonky and the controls took some time to get used to. While the game says its not keyboard and mouse supported I play it keyboard and mouse anyway, my fingers are not suited for basic controller controls so when it can be keyboard and mouse that is my go to any and every time regardless if its made for it or not. Using my preferred control system does increase my enjoy-ability to play the game (because duh I can actually PLAY the game this way).

Above the clouds, freedom must be boundless… or not, as The Falconeer shows us. Our falcon makes it only just above the clouds. Most of the time we fly either very close to the ground or at cloud height, but not much higher. That makes sense, because it’s damn cold up there and the oxygen is a bit scarce.
