Sky to Fly: Soulless Leviathan

Sky to Fly: Soulless Leviathan

this game is a second part for “sky to fly: faster than wind”. I’ve played the first part and i can say game’s definitely got better - both technical part of it and story part: now you have guns from the very beginning, or, instead of guns the other ship can jump; i have a feeling game’s got more dynamic, ship’s flying faster, there are more different enemies and obstacles - swirls and lightninigs; more difficult tasks - definitely recommend!

Cool flying game like the first one. Has pretty artwork and relaxing music. Story is interesting and continues from first game. Handling still feels kinda slow but better than first. Doesn’t have bonus missions, just endless mode to play when not going through story missions but this mode is not locked by long cooldowns like the first game had, so is better that way. I enjoyed my time in the game.

Yes would recommend this game.

Testing this game has been a remarkable experience; watching it slowly develop from a prototype to a hilariously enjoyable racing sim was incredible and I don’t regret a single second of it! It ensures everyone gets a fair chance with adjusting the spawn chances of certain boosts, ensuring races remain tight, and that they do. The feeling of hearing roaring afterburners as you hover just beneath an aircraft during a turn, fighting for that extra bit of space is brilliant. Practising alone has been streamlined significantly, making it a productive and fun process. And I’m sure the community this game develops will be incredible!

What a game. I got it yesterday and was instantly hooked. There’s not a lot but that really adds to the charm, it reminds me a lot of the simple racing games I would play as a kid.

My main qualms are the rudder is more of a liability if you’re using the virtual HOTAS as your hands do move a good bit during the excitement of flying and if you find yourself side ways next to the ground or ceiling and your rudder is slightly turned you’ll end up crashing. There’s a thing in the settings that allows you to put the rudder controls somewhere else on your controller but I’ve found that it doesn’t work with my controllers (I got the whole system in 2016).

Excellent. Been waiting for a remaster of this game for awhile. It’s perfect. Has Nuanced and noticeable improvements made everywhere that should be worthy for any real gamer and fan of original. I play at 6k (4320x2440 resolution w/ triple 27” asus rog QHD 2k 165htz O.C. monitors in rotated portrait mode) and it runs gloriously and feels butter vision smooth. I am crossing my fingers that it will play natively well like it does now for me at 6k when I finally upgrade my system to 10k resolution (7200 h x 2440 v). I’m getting up to my max 165 FPS play on a rtx2080 and average at 145 maybe more @ 6k. Well worth the purchase at current under $10.

SkyDrift was the game that made me join Steam 5 years ago.

I was used to pirate games, but then I found this little gem and wanted to play multiplayer so much, I ended up coming to Steam, and never left since then.

Back then, the original was so cool, and it had a good community, not many people played, but you could always find a room with at least 4 people.

With time, the servers got extremely unstable, to the point it was impossible to finish any race online. Singleplayer was still awesome.

REVIEW

Skydrift is a hidden-gem of an combat-racer game involving what feel like go-kart versions of airplanes. It reminds me of Diddy Kong Racing from back in the day, (which was like Mario Kart but with planes). The game is a lot of fun, especially in multiplayer. If you’re looking for some simple-pleasure arcade action, you probably want to check this out.

Overall Gameplay Thoughts

SkyDrift is a great looking, fast action, arcade racing game. It’s chaotic, intense and skillful. Single player offers plenty of content and planes to choose from. It offers beautiful vistas of places to fly through and the world feels very organic and alive. It reminds me of Mario Kart mixed with Diddy Kong Racing. The three different modes of play, Power, Speed and Survival, keep it interesting if you want to change it up. Power is where you have the ability to use powerups. Speed takes powerups out and survival is about making it the longest. There’s a good amount of powerups, all sorts of different planes to choose from and a decent amount of racing tracks to chew on. The various different types of planes vary from flighty and twitchy, to heavy and slow but still remain balanced enough for engaging races everytime. The AI gets lots of help with rubberbanding and teleporting but it’s still possible to beat it. It’s just really aggravating. The game is definitely best played against others though. There’s a good amount of variety for such a small budgeted game.

Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator

Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator

Very Highly Recommended. As a retired real world pilot that spends most of the day with flight sims I have now found the best of the best. Sure, it is still growing and has a long ways to go but, for now, nothing else does what Aerofly FS 2 does for me.

I have two full hardware setups. My original triple monitor / Saitek hardware 6th gen rig that I have used for the last 12 months and a Volair Flight Sim cockpit with a brand new Alienware 8th gen Intel processor with a 1080 Ti card. This was purchased during the Christmas holidays along with a Oculus Rift VR.

I have an embarrassing amount of time in flight simulators, dating all the way back to sublogic’s product in the early 80s. I am a real convert to Aerofly, and I bought my VR gear specifically to handle it - and it was absolutely worth the investment.

I’ve been using this sim now for months, and let me begin by saying what this is… and isn’t (at least yet).

For me, this sim has achieved what I’ve wanted all these years; the actual illusion of flight. I wanted the chance to feel the size and layout of the cockpit and to feel that pull in your guy when you dive through mountains, or make a daring landing. I love the fact that in the P-38 I have to look around the control column to see some of the gauges. I love the feel of the airplanes and how each has a unique character to flight. Of course, any of you using FSX,P4D, or Xplane have had these features for a long time. Aerofly and VR really recreates the feeling of flight. I’ve had a bunch of people try out my rig of course, and the reaction is always the same; incredible excitement, followed by the freedom that comes from flying anywhere you want. In short, it’s what I always wanted flight simming to be.
