XF5700 Mantis Experimental Fighter
Earth had no warning.
Out of nowhere, an army of insect-like creatures from a distant world, using technologically advanced space weapons, ambushed and devastated Earth. Perhaps more horrendous than the nearly three billion deaths was the portion of the remaining population that was used as host bodies for gestating alien offspring. The Fist of Earth world government was formed to defend humanity and repel the looming alien threat.
You’re a member of FOE’s elite fighter corps – a recruit fresh from the Academy. You’ve studied diligently, spent countless hours in simulations, and prepared yourself in every way possible for battle. But, until recently, the alien technology and firepower were far superior to Earth’s.
Now, you’ve been assigned to the XF5700 Experimental Fighter (codename: Mantis). The fate of the world rests in your hands.

VR Eagles of Victorian England
This is a VR tour game that focuses on leisure and relaxation. Players tour the UK from the perspective of a griffon. They mainly choose the following classic scenes, including the 18th century library, the 18th century conference room, the 18th century interior design, and the 18th century Victoria Street. 20th century sunset streets and 21st century concept houses, allowing gamers to experience the charming British style in depth, and enjoy the exotic scenery without leaving home. VR Military Reporter in Middle East (with tanks & helicopters)
Let me promise you that the title of this experience ‘VR Military Reporter in Middle East (with tanks & helicopters)’ bears no resemblance as to what this experience is all about. In short, it is a small collection of non-Middle East areas that you explore with a drone or helicopter. There is no reporting, no action, almost nothing to interact with other than exploring the area while some annoying music plays in the background. I paid just £2.39 for this in a sale and I was bitterly disappointed, but if I had paid the full asking price of £3.99 I would be asking for a refund. Other than exploring some small areas there is no point in downloading this at all and it really should have been free.

Star Trek™: Starfleet Academy
This was the first PC game I ever owned and - wow! - does it take me back! I understand why many gamers don’t feel that this game matches up to Starfleet Command or Klingon Academy but I was one of the few that thought this was an AMAZING game. Sure, it’s dogfighting with Trek ships, but who cares?!
As a professional composer, I have to make mention this upfront: the soundtrack by Star Trek TNG Allum Ron Jones is exquisite and about as Star Trek as it gets! A huge thumbs up for the sound design too!

In the 90s, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy was heavily anticipated and it was supposed to be best Star Trek game ever. Certainly, it ended being a great game but did not end up meeting the hype and high expectations. Years ago, I bought the physical copy of Starfleet Academy but didn’t realize that a working joystick was essential and all the controls you had to memorize was overwhelming at the time so I gave up on the first mission.
Imagine my excitement when I picked it up on sale recently and now I finally get to give it a second chance. As a big Trek fan, I really enjoyed it. The basic story is you play as cadet on the command track who is working his way through Starfleet Academy by completing a bunch of simulations and at the same time, you must manage all the different personalities of your crew. The game does a good job with its FMV (full motion video) cutscenes which were common in so many 90s games though some of the acting needs improvement. Periodically during these cutscenes, you will have to make several choices which will change the direction of the story and affect your crew’s performance. William Shatner, George Takei and Walter Koenig do a fantastic job reprising their old roles from TOS.

Ultimate Wall Defense Force
its fucking awesome

As a lover of Dragon Ball, I really enjoyed playing Ultimate Wall Defense Force!
It’s an anime style tower defense game, and your main goal is to defeat all of the enemies before they destroy your tower. You play as a powerful character with several abilities to defend waves and waves of enemies. I found flying around to be super fun, and the large number of abilities to use to kill your enemies really nail the power fantasy of what it would be like to be Goku.
There are even boss encounters after each level which I found very engaging and challenging.

Tragedy of Prince Rupert
I love this game. I like the look of it, and the soothing music, and the difficulty curve…everything is fantastic. I already bought it for one friend, and I’ll probably buy it a few more times in the near future to give to other friends as gifts. Go get Tragedy of Prince Rupert, for yourself; you won’t regret it.

EDIT: I said that the extra crew members were just cosmetic. Well, after reading a post from developer, those actually have an impact on the gameplay (they give you more HP, slow enemy bullets, etc.). But them again how can you blame me for thinking those were just cosmetic, if the game doesn’t give you ANY information?
When you first start up this game, it feels like just another Twin Stick shooter with unique art style. But actually it’s got more depth than most Twin Sticks I’ve played. You play as Prince Rupert, who’s flying a Montgolfière, that has the fastest shooting cannon in the world. You’re on your quest to prove yourself to be worthy groom for some princess and everybody else who wants to marry her is after you. And your balloon is capable of flying into space and dive 20 000 leagues under the sea. That in itself is the most awesome concept for a game I’ve seen in a while.

Cyberia
A great classic which aged terribly.
This Cyberpunk themed Action/Adventure augments rail shooter action scenes with adventure exploration and puzzle elements for an enjoyable, albeit all too brief experience. An odd feature is the game having 2 difficulty settings, one for “Arcade” and the other for “Puzzle”, both scaling from 1-3. One can not set both difficulties to “1” as the game informs you would be “too easy”.
Highs:
A cheap classic.
A fine historical blast from the past.
Fun rail shooter bits.

It’s EXACTLY as I remember, not better or worse – I suppose it deserves to be called a graphic adventure game with action scenes. The voice acting is cheesy, the 1990s CGI looks hideous and plastic, you probably die a lot and…
There’s this element of masochism involved in playing Cyberia – take one late puzzle disguised as an action sequence, for instance, where you have to pick the right doors and eliminate enemies in the rooms so you can proceed. Pick a wrong door and you get a video clip of you getting shot in the back. Repeat a couple of times. For some reason, you don’t get a save point nearer to it, so you have to rinse and repeat through a different puzzle as well.
