Lost Remnant: The End Tides

Lost Remnant: The End Tides

So far I’m very much enjoying the game. It’s a point and click, story heavy game.

You have been left an inheritance by your grandfather, his cabin, now yours. Through found letters you find that your grandfather wants you to leave the town, though by what means you’ll have to play to find out. You start by collecting roaches to use as fishing bait and from there you can start to craft and sell items in order to make the money needed to do as your grandfather wished.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game it was not what I was expecting when I read mysterious point and click with eldritch horrors. The game is basically a resource management gathering game with some point and click aspects but not many which is nice cause instead of looking for one hidden object or how to use an object for hours your steadily progressing towards your goal. Game was really enjoyable with messages constantly to break up the grind with plot or story there’s not much visible eldritch creatures but there’s ton of mention of them. my full 100% play through with all letters and endings here (once it finishes processing): https://youtu.be/B8UwzltTPnc I had to replaythrough the game since eldritch horrors ate half the video but just a heads up the game says you get 2 redwood logs a tree but you only get one not

Cozy Cabin

Cozy Cabin

From the developer of Simple Farm comes a brand new relaxing survival game where you survive in a cabin set in a old school operating system.

I was watching a Kingsway stream one day, an RPG set in an old-school style operating system, when someone in the comments said that the UI was cozy. The comment immediately inspired me to make a coziness simulator based completely in an old-school desktop. Cozy Cabin is meant to be as relaxing as possible. It’s set in a quiet, rainy town where your only job is to fish, farm, and mine in order to pay your monthly rent and stay in the cabin.

I got this game in a bundle before, so I was not as irritated as some people who paid full price.

It has a number of bugs in it - one causes the game to crash. It is pretty short (under 10 minutes), art is okay, the whole thing is kind of something you would have seen on Newgrounds before.

The best part of the game was the business dude conversations which ended up making me laugh.

I don’t recommend buying it, instead just go watch the 5 min let’s play of it.

Drop

Drop

“Drop” is hardly a game at all… so calling it a game it is a bit offensive to other games out there.

And saying that it is a “story told purely through animation” when the game do not have any story to tell, and even say that it is going to tell this story without sound or script" is boldly, even cocky…

What I believe that the developer meant to say the following: “I have no clue what I want to do, I have no idea for a story and I am going to say that not having sound nor a script to follow it is work as intended…”

Drop is a nice little pixel, indie looking game. It’s not a very long game either, just something that you can play in a quick session. I know that it seems that I’m beating the game up with the following criticisms but they are not game breaking, nor do they ruin the game by any means. They’re simply things I, PERSONALLY didn’t like about this game. Saying all this, I still played and appreciated this game :)

At first, it was difficult to work out what to do, as there is no text or sound to the game. It’s not until you play around with the buttons and take notice of the changes in your environment that you understand what to do. I honestly was going to just stop playing because I thought “is this it? Wander around 3 screens?” until I saw a change (by chance) and that lightbulb went off!

Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 2

Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 2

This is the fifth (5th) entry in the series and again, it differs enough from the others to make it unique. The basic game play is the same as it is still first person although this time you are a Princess saving the Kingdom and how fun is that! There are a few places to camp, where you may also prepare food (eggs) and a couple of inns where you can sleep for 20 gold per night. There are also eggs to gather as well as roots, mushrooms, crates, barrels and fishes, etc.; however; there ARE limited quantities of each, so there’s lots of strategy involved in how you eat, rest, sell, and buy your way through the game, which I absolutely love, because you can play it differently each time. It’s choc-a-block full of fighting, so potions of every type are needed, but don’t make too many at a time and have them left over, cause no one buys the potions - only the ingredients - but (yeah for us OCD’ers) there are buyers for “almost” everything else. It’s truly another home run for this team and I’ll be playing it several times because I found it to be a such a great challenge! Well done, Lonely Troops!

I love this series of games and this is a solid addition. Almost everything you liked in the other games will be there, but almost everything you didn’t like will be there too. You’ll see some familiar faces as you work your way through a cute story.

These could be pros or cons depending on what you like so this list is more “Things to note”:

  • This is the sort of game that you can make a spreadsheet for. I listed out who bought and sold what and how much profit you’ll get by doing buying/crafting/selling loops.

The Zwuggels - A Beach Holiday Adventure for Kids

The Zwuggels - A Beach Holiday Adventure for Kids

Although he’s a little young to manage the mouse, our 22-month-old Smol Owlbear loves playing Zwuggels on a touchscreen, so much so that we’ve bought it for additional platforms.

The characters are charming - especially Nico - and the mini-games that make up each level of the game almost all hit the sweet spot between interactive toys and intellectual challenges for young kids,

I love the multi-lingual text, as it gives our family a chance to do some reading in a couple of the languages we use, in a refreshing format.

Score – 8/10 (Recommended)

If you don’t care if an interactive storybook doesn’t read itself, there’s a lot to like about The Zwuggels: the game is a hoot for four and five-year-olds, it has superb artwork and it’s a great opportunity for you and your child to bond as you explore the adventure together. Recommended if you’re a parent seeking a family-friendly precursor to point ‘n’ click adventures for children.

Faraway Islands

Faraway Islands

Good 2D survival/crafting game.Controls well and has good mechanics.Fun to play.Main thing missing is content.Maybe some kind of back story as well as current story and things that hamper surviving would make it better. Things like animals or some mobs that you have to fight/avoid or just watch out for would add a lot. This could lead to more reason to have variety of weapons and a leveling up of weapons. This really is a fun game in early access which I totallly forgot to mention….untill now.Price is not very much at all now……with proper good additions current price will be a steal. Developers seem nice and are wanting feeedback to help advance their game…..which is usely a good sign for a early access game in my experience. So overall I am not a professional game reviewer but I do know if I like playing a game or not and a few things I personaly would like to see in a game…….so I like playing Faraway Islands and recommend it to all types of gamers………I see it getting better with a little love.

I Love this game and I want to see it get updated again I’m very happy with the development of the game the only problem I had was that I had put time into 2 different islands and that progress broke and I had to start from scratch. Otherwise a great game and I do recommend

Melvor Idle

Melvor Idle

Game is heavily runescape-inspired idler with some active elements to it, especially the latter/end game dungeons. You can minmax your combat stats with different skills. Ex astrology/agility, Create majority of your own gear as you progress or get some of the endgame equipment from said endgame dungeons. Plenty of different skills and a great ui for an idler.

It’s really a promising title that just came out, and dev has promised more content in the future, which is admirable. If you enjoy idlers/clicker style games this is definitely one of the better ones and i highly recommend any fans of either runescape or great indie loveprojects of idlers to check this out.

I love idle games on mobile devices. I happen to come across Melvor idle and seen it’s a Runescape idle game. Instantly brought back all of my past fun playing Runescape! Of course I downloaded it immediately! All of the skills, items, and attacking concepts are Runescape based except it’s set a skill to train and let it do it’s thing. Now obviously it isn’t quite Runescape in the sense of graphics and mechanics of running around skilling/killing/exploring. They seem to continuously add content to the game and I personally haven’t had any issues with the game.. Everyone has different setups/phones/factors that could pose a possible issue as with everything software. Give it a try, worst case just refund it!
