With over 100 hours in game, I now feel that I can fairly review this.

I’ve tried all of the current fishing games incl. those only available in demo at the moment.

In my opinion this is the best by some margin but that by no means suggests that it is perfect - it definitely has some frustrations and rough edges.

Key points from my perspective

1. The care that has gone into this is unmistakable. The locations are atmospheric and varied.

2. The fishing mechanics feel great - in my view at least as good as any of the competitors.

The Positive:

Original game with good ideas behind. I like it , I played it for a while. I purchased the premium bottom feeder pack, a hat, several sets of glassies, badge, was VIP for a while as I always support the devs when I see something good with potential.

Despite the huge in my opinion potential of this game - it will (like many others before ) go down the drains unless some changes are made immediately:

1. Do not waste customers' money

2. Do not waste customers' time

Not recommended unless you want to pay $5 a month for VIP to get any kind of real progress out of the game and even then, the grind is still ungodly after a certain point. Hardly anyone speaks English, some menu texts are written in Russian. You cannot edit your character after you create it, so if you make a bad judgment on your color choice options for clothing and hair too bad, You want to change your facial hair? too bad. Auction house is riddled with bad business practices which people purchase vendor items at different locations then unsuspecting players will pay out up to twice or even three times the actual value because new players are unable to get to those areas and or locked out due to experience/rank/perks, or people who are desperate for those items will pay a hefty price because they are at a different location and too much of a hassle to travel. Not a very social game, nobody talks in chat, if they do, they speak Russian. Game is also online only, and if you are in USA you will encounter random dropouts from game kicking you to the main screen. Game used to be more popular when I first started but now it seems dead, everyone may be moving on to the next release, The Fisher Online which looks like an updated version of this game from what I’ve seen and I will not be purchasing that game. Uninstalled and moving on.

I play this game since it got launched for the public (no early beta testing). This is not the first fishing sim I play, so I can compare a few things with other games (which is rathe rnormal, I think).

This fishing sim is not hard to understand. Maybe there should be an inbuild tutorial to make players understand certain aspects of the game (like f.e. buying and changing the rods, how to use the sonar, etc.) but that can and is covered by the community in the guide section of the game’s Steam page/forum. You can just start fishing, alone or with friends, and having fun in environments that speak to the imagination. I simply mean that the surroundings, the graphics, are great!

This is a review of Professional Fishing version 1.1.5

This is the third fishing game I’ve tried on Steam. I first tried Fishing Planet and, though it started out well, changes to the game made playing it more of a chore than a joy.

You can find my review for it here:

https://steamcommunity.com/id/JonathanJOneill/recommended/380600/

I then moved on to Russian Fishing 4 but I found it far too grindy and the RPG-esque design of skills killed the game’s fun factor for me, though I did enjoy its bottom fishing.

Installed this game about a month ago because a friend reccomended it.

It took a few minutes to understand the game without looking at the tutorials or help pages.

So having a little over 95 hours in game as of this review, this is what I have to say…

Leveling up is fast at the beginning but gets progressively slower the higher level you are.

XP slowly drops on fish once you have leveled up a bit and caught a certian number of that species.

The challenges are fun and offer some equipment that you can’t get in game, even with DLC.

I deleted now 4 reviews I wrote because they got longer and longer.

I really wanted to mention everything what is going on with that game to give people a fair chance to turn their back towards it.

But I will only say:

I have 4 chars 3 of them max level, together a playtime of over 2.5k hours.

I played that game from day one on, the best time was about 1 year ago, since then it is going continously downhill.

The playerbase was number wise fine and had also a really solid core of daily players. Those bought plenty of DLC´s more than they even needed, just to support the game and the devs, because back then they did an awesome job, they did actually care at that time. In the end we had after 1 1/2 years a early access game with more DLC´s than actually new content, still it was all fine. It was work in progress and everyone understood.

Would you recommend this game to other players?

Yes, I have. My wife. But please continue to read.

Update 2021: I am unsure if I would recommend this game, as they have changed the trading policies where I can no longer help a new player out. This is one of the grindiest games I have played and that is the reason I was helping new player, There is inflation in this game, they continue to make the same ugly reel even more expensive without offering a better reel as a replacement. if your looking for a GRIND then yes play at your own risk

Avoid if you know what is good for your WALLET!

The devs continually decrease prices in GOLD, but INCREASE prices for silver for in game gear in order to try to extort players for money. On top of this, top end reels in game can cost as much as $200, if not more. UPDATE: I just checked the most expensive reel which is around 120 Gold in game. This would cost $240.00 according to their website. Completely absurd.

I have been a paying customer from July 4th 2019, until March 2020. I sincerely wish I never spent a cent on this stupid piece of crap, not to mention what my added up total came up to, which I am totally not proud of.

Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR

Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR

Ultimate Fishing Simulator is the first VR fishing game I have played, and I enjoy it very much. I picked it up after pondering if VR had any good fishing simulators, found this one. Early in my experience with the game, I had a few questions to look up, as an example, the game uses fishing licenses to gain access to new areas. I felt they were very costly as I was expecting to have to buy one every time I wanted to fish there. Every question I found in steam had a developer reply, seeming to want to help and take feedback even from people who didn’t own the game, but showed an interest.

UPDATE: YEAH!! NO CRASHES!! Dev has addressed the issue of constant crashes and the game is super fun again! This game is a keeper for those of us who appreciate fishing and actually catching something!

I REALLY like this game! Got it in a pkg deal to check out thief simulator and wound up liking this one WAY better. Its immersive enough to really feel like fishing but game enough for me to actually catch fish! BIG fish! Cause I can stand between two people catching fish and not catch anything, true story! There’s really no “GRIND” to the game, you catch five or six starter fish and sell them, buy bigger hooks and stronger line to catch bigger fish and sell them too! You get EXP. when you sell the fish so nothing is lost and you gain loot to buy better equipment. WHY buy better? because big fish will break your line or you will run out of line. So you need bigger/better equipment to catch them. I was just having fun fishing and before I knew it had close to a thousand bucks! Upgraded everything and was catching 2 and 3 hundred buck fish in NO time! Its pretty satisfying seeing a 47lbs rainbow trout in your hands.

The Fisherman - Fishing Planet

The Fisherman - Fishing Planet

I’ve played both Fishing Planet and The Fisherman: Fishing Planet, they are both great and have different issues. One reason I enjoy The Fisherman is that you don’t need to worry so much about making money in the game. You buy licenses one time, travel is cheaper, no cooldown on forwarding the time, and you make baitcoins by catching uniques (a few species gave credits on uniques). I got the game when it was on 60% discount, and I think it’s worth that but would probably think twice for paying full price for it (could be better to spend that money on the regular Fishing Planet instead).

Real player with 373.3 hrs in game

Gave this review after not playing the game enough: This is what Fishing Planet used to be before they decided to change everything. Catch rates are so so much better and it is very much less grindy and believe me I grinded my backside off in Fishing Planet. Still early days but would recommend it but not at £34.99 I shopped around and got it much much cheaper.

Edit 31/01/2020: There is still bugged fish in the game where no matter what you the fish either runs and runs or comes so far in and then runs again.

Still playing yes, Game, itself is fascinating where you can hunt animals, for food an raw materials, you can even flood the world at one point, PVP is option too. I haven’t tried it yet. I did have events like bunnies bunnies everywhere…not bunny to drop. If you get that.(died by kamikaze bunny) believe for one exception you could build towering mazes and mazes,

I did see castles and cathereadals somewhere people are building amazing structures.

You can upload your latest creation to steam where they showcase it,

This review is for the current version of the game(2/7/16)

What is Islet Online? Islet Online is a creative open world sandbox, similar to Minecraft. This game features an experience system that allows you to level up in pretty much everything like jumping, crafting, fighting and much more. These can directly effect your play experience, for example, you may be able to eventually jump up to 4 times in the air. It actually reminds me of McMMO from the old Minecraft Bukkit days….

With all the F2P fishing games out there trying to suck on your wallet, and requiring you to be always Online, this B2P fishing game (you buy, you own the license) is really welcomed.

You have beautiful graphics, plenty of fish species and locations, and a pretty reasonable price, especially on sale, so why the negative review then?

The gameplay. Let’s start with the worst. The fishes' AI. Each fish species you fight pretty much feel the same. They don’t seem to have any difference in the way they behave on the end of the line. They also don’t really feel challenging. The gear also seem to have minimal impact on the challenge of a fight.

I’ve played Euro Fishing, Fishing Planet before this game also i’m great fisherman, pc programmer and sick gamer irl.

It’s early access game right now but really satisfying with a lot of things.

Gameplay, Physics etc…: I love float fishing in real life so i wanna talk about it first. If you are fan of fishing planet and if you love float fishing you should get this game right now. Float looks really realistic and you can use lead for float fishing, float doesn’t shake like crazy. You can see strikes on float nicely and correct. Bait options not that much like in Fishing Planet but satisfying. When you cast, you feel like in real. They have leveling system like Fishing Planet. You getting xp when you catch a fish and it’s asking do you wanna sell or release to get few more xp. You can buy rods, lines, hooks whatever you need for fishing. Catching is not easy like Fishing Planet and not same spot etc. It’s already borring if you repeat same thing. You can use spinning techniques. If you dying for fishing, if you don’t have lake close you i swear you’ll really enjoy in this game and you will feel satisfied.
