Fish & Fight

Fish & Fight

Fish and Fight is a game of shooting and confrontation between 2 players.

With a humorous tone, he stages a fight between two Sunday fishermen against a backdrop of beers and rock and roll!

Drop the opposing player into the river to defend your fishing spot!

Players can move around, throw a beer bottle and throw their cork to catch things … like an opponent for example!

If a player gets caught in the head with a bottle, they will be stunned. The opposing player must then take advantage of this short moment to catch him with his hook and throw him into the water!

Fall 4 times in the river, and you will lose the duel!

The game can be played online using “STEAM remote” or Parsec.

The game is mean to be played on arcade and here is the keyboard mapping :

I’ve been waiting to play this game since the first time I heard about it and I’m so happy to finally be able to!

It speaks to my heart when a game dares not to take itself seriously and, at the same time, still is a good gsme. Fish surely is all that! 3

It feels so good to play an FPS in which the core gameplay involves dodging, after so many years of boring cover shooting. And the level design is cleverly interesting, not shying away to present obscure secrets right when you start (which brings fond memories of Doom 64).

Early Access Review: This is actually a pretty fun game for a retro style game. As others have mentioned the harpoon mechanic is really cool. This game has some interesting puzzles that require a bit of thinking to get thru, but not so difficult that it makes it impossible. You may have to retry the level a couple of times to get thru the “learning curve”.

Since it is early access there are some things that the developer is working on. But the good news is that the issues are getting discovered quickly and bug fixes are coming in.

A v minimal visual novel with a low intensity fishing game in between dialogues. You should be warned that this is a very shoddy port and it took me the best part of an hour to fix the controller mapping. If you are in the tiny minority of people who like visual novels, fishing minigames and fixing things on your computer then this is the game for you.

This game is simple, but a BLAST to play. It’s very easy to get lost in it. The first time I put it on, I ended up in it for 3 hours before I realized it. I’m including two videos, both of our oldest son playing through between two days. We hope this helps others to decide to pick this one up. Day 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y8aSSpCdJY and Day 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHx1q8dLbIg

With the v1.2 Patch, this game became even more fun to play. With food effects, a working VR effect when you snag the helmet, more fish, and a few hidden surprises, it keeps us wanting more. We can’t wait to see what v1.3 has in store. Here’s our video showcasing some of what you’ll find in v1.2 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYFqsnd-Be4

I was part of the beta for this game. I had about 7 -8 hours into the game at the time before the pushed out the full version. Another 1.2 hours since I purchased the game. It is a great addition to your library if you are looking for a slower paced fishing game. Not super slow, not super realistic….fun. There are about 20ish different kinds of wacky fish to catch. You wont get a bite everytime you cast, but 90% of the time I’d say.

There are 8 different preset locations you can fish from with a range of environments, but you can also teleport around the lake to find your own spot to fish from. You can also take a raft out onto the lake and and fish from there.

I saw a cod hold a gun like a mafioso. Jellyfish still as painful as they are irl. Fish whose one arm is extremely buff, probably cause his wife was fished. Can sell the fish to the black market. Communism. You can make fish shoot themselves as if they lived in such a country.

Honestly, I have fun with this but there’s a lot of things that don’t feel entirely good to put up with.

Your hook feels very slow, to the point of agony, and while I’m sure the late game is a blast, the early game definitely feels a bit lacking.

Also, there’s some items that just feel like a pain to get early on that really are only remotely viable when you have something else. Like, items that activate after damage are very common despite how liberal health is in the game.

Overall though, I’ve had a fun time with this so far, definitely going to give it more of a shot, but there are some things I dislike, but willing to push through to see how the game is a bit further on. Definitely a very tough game, and I look forward to hopefully cracking it some time.

I play this game since it got launched for the public (no early beta testing). This is not the first fishing sim I play, so I can compare a few things with other games (which is rathe rnormal, I think).

This fishing sim is not hard to understand. Maybe there should be an inbuild tutorial to make players understand certain aspects of the game (like f.e. buying and changing the rods, how to use the sonar, etc.) but that can and is covered by the community in the guide section of the game’s Steam page/forum. You can just start fishing, alone or with friends, and having fun in environments that speak to the imagination. I simply mean that the surroundings, the graphics, are great!

This is a review of Professional Fishing version 1.1.5

This is the third fishing game I’ve tried on Steam. I first tried Fishing Planet and, though it started out well, changes to the game made playing it more of a chore than a joy.

You can find my review for it here:

I then moved on to Russian Fishing 4 but I found it far too grindy and the RPG-esque design of skills killed the game’s fun factor for me, though I did enjoy its bottom fishing.

Ok, as a mature gamer and a UK course fisherman, i was intrigued the moment i saw this title. Mainly because it wasnt based on lure fishing for bass, which it seems 99% of fishing games are. The first thing that struck me on playing it was the beautifull training lake, it was a while before i even cast a rod out as i was strolling round the lake in awe of the lush scenery. I struggled a bit at first with the fishing mechanics, but soon got used to it, and with practice it became very natural and pretty dam realistic. Im so glad i stuck with it for a couple of hours and got to grips with the controls, because now after several updates and much practice i am enjoying this game more than ever and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Another much looked forward too title that sadly missed the mark. A lot of apologies for not keeping the community up to date and the threadbare team that has 3 platforms to work across. My heart bleeds. ( Don’t bite off more than you can chew). It is a very basic game with a casting the tackle to the water module that you would need a university degree to understand what the hell posessed them to make it so difficult.

The idea of hooking a fish no matter what size it is and watching it fall asleep half way across the lake also nulifies any reality as does the use of bubble Icons to tell you what the lake bed looks like, that you actually have a fish on the line!(err my rods bent and a fish is taking line I think I grasped the point I have hooked a fish). Casting your bait too a spot you want it to be at and then watch the bait move all on its own from 30 yards to under your feet or the line just suddenly goes slack.

The game has a lot of replayability even with a small amount of weapons and power-ups because the looping mechanic makes the levels more challenging. In a way, the player is being made to be actually stranded on the “raft boat” when a swarm of variety of enemies flood the looped levels. The difficulty bump between the base levels and loop 1 is pretty huge, but it is set to work out by the time the player gets to looped stages. Unlocking the costumes and daily mode were/are a fun part of the game which made playing the game greater. Overall, the game itself is really great, and it being free is kind of insane because I could see the game having a price tag between $1-10 as it is, honestly. Hope the developers make more!
