Well I kickstarted this game. I liked the artwork. The open worlod part itself is nice to roam around and collect things.

But beyond that it has insane flaws. Every now and then it puts you in these big cube rooms that are bland and makes you collect items. Water rises. Touch the water you have to restart. Open world or cube world you have an auto slide so your toon won’t even stay still. So you have to repearivly jump in spot as water rises and falls or die and start over. This is for anywhere in the game. And making me sit in rooms to collect things over and over vs enjoying the open world, where you still slide and die but at least it pretty to look at, makes the game not desrable to play.

This is quite possibly the worst puzzle game ever created. The clues mean exactly nothing. There is no reason or logic to any of it. If you eat the wrong pill, you die and the game restarts. The best method is just to eat every pill you see, remember the ones that kill you, restart the game, and only eat the pills that don’t kill you. Do not buy this game.

I enjoyed some of the puzzles in this game but the main objective is to eat specific pills and there seems to be no indication as to what pills you need to eat. There are no clues, no hints, nothing. You eat the wrong pill and you die (and that will happen to you a lot unless you watch someone else play the game). After a little while I got sick of picking the wrong pill and dying so I just watched others play the game so I could stop restarting the entire game from the beginning.

If we had a neutral option I would definitely be selecting that for this game but since it’s either “recommend” or “do not recommend” I have to say I don’t recommend it just because the entire game seems to be based on chance or luck and I don’t care for that at all. There doesn’t seem to be any way to make an educated guess as to what pills to eat based off clues - it’s just pure luck. The ending tries to justify what you’ve just gone through but I don’t think it does. I think it’s a lousy explanation for lack of good game design. I heard there was DLC coming for this game and honestly I hope that’s true and I hope it expands upon the main game because there is something here. I just don’t like it in it’s current form. Maybe you will feel differently.

JANITOR BLEEDS

JANITOR BLEEDS

JANITOR BLEEDS is a retro-inspired horror game set in an old arcade. A mysterious arcade machine called JANITOR beckons you to play itself, releasing a horrible force upon the player. The only way to survive is to keep playing, but the further you go, the more the events of the arcade game start to influence the real world. When your eyes are glued to the screen, who knows what might be happening right behind your back?

Features

  • Explore a mysterious arcade: The dark corners and hallways hide many secrets. Collect coins and items to progress in the game and most importantly, keep yourself alive. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of an amusement arcade from the 90s, abandoned long ago.

  • Cursed arcade cabinet: Playing the coin-hungry machine affects more than it seems. Solve puzzles and open paths in both the arcade game and the real world to progress in the game. Just remember; the evil within the machine won’t make things easy.

  • Retro-inspired: The game is inspired by the video games of the 90s. The game hasn’t been made to look like a carbon copy; instead, it has been inspired by the visual style of that nostalgic era of gaming and has brought it to the modern standards.

Construct: Escape the System

It’s a platform game in First person view, so it’s different from what we usually have platformer wise.

If your a platfromer fan you are sure to enjoy this one, it’s different from what we usually experience, but it still is great and thoroughly enjoyable game, do note that the game is fairly simple to play but there is a difficulty spike that will test your patience, but in the end they are all doable, winnable and killable…

The game is beautifully done, the level design, layout, look and feel is very beautiful, a lot of care and attention went into creating a very beautiful and visually appealing game. The accompanying sounds really enhances the overall quality of the game, with a soothing soundtrack to really set the relaxing mood for the game itself, the combination of sounds and visual art really comes together quite well.

First of all let me say that this game will not appeal to everyone!

Now as for the game, the gameplay is nice, first person explorer/puzzle type. It starts off rather blocky as in any touch with a wall/platform/object instantly stops your movement. Once you get used to it, it’s rather fun and smooth.

Lots of areas to explore, Construct HUB, 4 HUBs, 4 System Core Acesses, 4 System Cores and several Ability unlocks. Each is fairly big and you will need to understand the mechanics to progress further.

I love the message that the game poses. but the gameplay is garbage. after getting to the second stage IN THE FIRST LEVEL! more guards move around and when all three types of guards mix, its impossible. when you try to get the attention of a stationary guard, a moving guard comes out of nowhere and notices it, rendering it useless, ALSO! when you start a piece, you cant finish it. i could go on and on about gameplay problems, but i don’t want this to be too lengthy. if your the type of guy to go select “HARD MODE” on the first run of a game, that’s cool, but for me, i don’t like it.

It’s free, it’s short and simple, a lot could be added but for a free game i’m guessing they just made it in the hopes that people would look what other games the devs of this made so that those games can get more people playing them. Really you can only play it about twice or three times until you win, but it’s fun for a free game, not too long, might as well try it out.

Treasure Hunter Simulator

Treasure Hunter Simulator

Treasure Hunter SImulator can be more accurately named “hiking / metal detecting simulator”. Because all you do is walking around the area, metal detect mostly junk but occasionally some treasures that you have to sell for junk prices, and by limiting you to lame detectors at the beginning and locking the advanced detectors (for deeper depths) under serious prestige level locks that you must unlock through some simple missions, and a lot of junk collecting, it’s just a repetitive grind.

If you desire something that is completely relaxing, aka a “walking simulator”, this may be right up your alley. The Unreal engine was used to very good effect, as each park area is large and usually quite imaginative with great vista. But the repetitive nature of leveling up, pulling 10 pieces of trash (nails, can pull tabs, etc.) for every bit of treasure, and every every 5-10 pieces of lame treasure (buttons, bullet casings, etc.) you get something that is worth a little more. There is ONE legendary piece per area, but you may need some hints to find it. But the hints are given to you after 2 primary quests and 2 side quests. It’s basically a photo of the location you need, not that it makes any sense to have a photo. Why would Captain Cook, who died in Hawaii in 1779, have a “photo” of where he hid his spyglass on the Scottish coast, hmmm? Yet the clue given to you to find his spyglass on the Scottish coast was a photo of the Scottish coast rocks. Hah!

A good foundation, but a boring game

In Treasure Hunter Simulator, you walk through fairly beautiful environments with a metal detector in your hand. Occasionally the detector gives off a beep, which repeats faster the closer you are to a metal object in the ground. Your task is to find the target location, then dig the object out and identify it. At any time you can return to your office, sell items you found, buy better detectors, or accept specific tasks like “find object X” or “take a photo of location Y”. That’s the entire gameplay. There are no puzzles or action elements and only a very rudimentary story. I played this game when I was feeling sick and didn’t want to think or have to react quickly, and under these specific circumstances, I did enjoy my time with it. However, in every other situation I would have found the game too boring, and there is unfortunately just too much wrong with it to give it a thumbs-up.

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is some kind of show-case made by Valve to introduce their new High Dynamic Range method of applying light inside the Source Engine. Actually, although this is a very technical subject, the developer’s commentary that comes with it, is more than worthwhile listening to. It gives quite some insight into how this mini-level was constructed, and even into how HDR lighting actually works. It’s not easy to talk about something as complex as this is an easily understandable manner. Fascinating stuff, and for the die-hard Vavle-fans: you even get Gabe Newell’s words at the beginning of the commentary ;-).

After playing around with the level for a bit, I can definitely say that Lost Coast is a complete success. It’s not available seperately, but it is available in the Half Life Complete Pack (which is on sale right now). Here, you play as Gordon Freeman, as you come across the tiny town of St. Olga, whom is under attack by the Combine with a gun that launches headcrabs into the town. The 14-Minute Tech Demo shows off what the Source engine can really do, and as a result the game looks beautiful. It’s almost like a work of art.

Meh, nice idea but badly executed, You have to navigate through some kind of space anomalies which completely swallow any kind of light… of course there is a monster hunting you. To find your way through the anomalies you have to use a sonar, which gives you one particular sound for “wall ahead” and one for “no wall” within (approximation) 3 meters. Sounds like a good idea, but it sucks! You easyly lose orientation, especially when the monster is close behind you… and then you die. That also sucks because there is no way to save, only checkpoints, probably to make the game longer. Bugs - of course. The setting is a joke too. Textures and objects are so unbelievable repetitive, it actually makes this “horror game” kinda “funny”. Absolutely ridiculous!

Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Half Life 2. What is there to say about such an influential game, again? The physics engine alone still holds up to this day while the story still has people captivated to this day.

The story of Gordon Freeman is continued in a very fun and great way, being woke up by G-Man at the start really puts you back into action. The decision to continue the story 20 years later after the Balck Mesa incident and completing ignoring the fact that most people decided to be bloodthirsty megalomaniacs who murdered both friendly and hostile entities was amazing, the fact that they pick obscure characters to be the main characters of this game is also amazing - I bet nobody remembered Eli or Lamarr even after being told who they were back in Half Life by themselves until they decided to replay Half Life again or by playing through the fanmade remake Black Mesa.
