A couple of the puzzles are off. Please know that I carefully spent time with each of these trying different things assuming the problem was me. The password provided to override the computer doesn’t work. I even looked online to verify I was providing the correct answer. I was correct but nope, still doesn’t work. The abacus puzzle answer didn’t match what I had in this version of the game. Online I found another solution to this puzzle on a different platform. That worked on this version, even though it did not match what I was seeing. Another puzzle referred to a miniature phone booth that somehow related to “ants.” (Sorry - mini spoiler here.) It turned out to be a clock that needed a light source to operate. Again, had to find answer on line. Made zero sense. Some of the puzzles are pretty solid, but at this point I can’t progress anymore. Waste of time. Glad it was cheap.

Game For Anna

Game For Anna

A solid primer for the main game “Darkness Under My Bed”. This short point and click game has several endings and some really interesting puzzles. At this time I believe I have fully completed it. ~ 1.5 hours to figure out all the endings.

Smile For Me

Smile For Me

What a delightful and unique game! You visit the Habitat - a retreat run by the elusive Dr. Habit and populated with sad people. You are a flower delivery guy and you soon find yourself tasked with cheering up 22 residents. Each sad person has a quest (some simple and some complicated) for you to complete.

The game is divided into 24 hour days but is complicated by a nightly curfew. If you are not back in your room on time, you lose half of the next day. So, time is of the essence.

There is no voice acting and the characters are 2D, place within a 3D environment. The art style, the written dialog, and the original music make this a very interesting adventure.

I got this game for my girlfriend recently after she had expressed interest in it. I am now writing this review not long after my birthday ended, where she had gifted me a copy of the game too.

Smile For Me is very much first taste of a game that isn’t an MMO in a very long time. As a big fan of MMOs, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I played this a few hours ago, at the time of writing.

Frankly, I was blown away by the quality here. I was impressed by how cleanly the game runs, and the quality of the gameplay. It is inspired, in my opinion, to use mouse movements to interact with NPCs such as in this game. In a world where selecting a text dialogue option is the established norm' here, Smile For Me, which I will refer to as S4M for the rest of this review, takes a radically different approach to this type of interaction in gaming. One that so many people take for granted.

Beach Restaurant

Beach Restaurant

Not even worth 1 buck.

Just a bad asset flip with no improvement at all, bad game mechanics, poor execution and boring as hell. The “game” is so poorly designed that Level 18 is literally impossible to finish because you never get enough orders in the time allotted and since it takes forever for people to waaaaaaalk to their spot and order, you lose every time. That’s how much thought they put into it.

Assets are one thing but they don’t make a game, thanks for proving it once again.

I bought this game purely for fun to play and relax. Everything in the game is very simple and straightforward, you serve customer orders. Each client has his own unique taste, you make the wrong dish, you will lose the client. I got positive emotions, I rate the game 8 out of 10 cheeseburgers.

Spirits of Carter Mansion

Spirits of Carter Mansion

The idea for the game was good, execution not so much. The directions were really confusing (North, South, East, and West instead of Left, Right, Up/Down Stairs, Down the Hall, etc.) and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to it. I felt like I’d be upstairs and then the next thing I know I’m staring down the basement stairs somehow. This wouldn’t be too bad if there weren’t so many different directions to go in. I feel like if I really wanted to try to figure it out I’d have to take a pen and paper and physically draw a map, and it’s just not effort I’m willing to put in. The way the game is laid out makes the layout of the mansion really unclear. When I downloaded this I was looking for something fun and a little challenging to play through, but instead it feels like I got something that was going to require a lot of work. If you’re into that sort of thing I think you’ll like this game, but if you are like me and are just looking for a game to casually play, maybe try something else.

The idea of this game is pretty alright but i think the execution just made the game all too confusing, the hand is a little unnecessary and it doesn’t really add anything to the gameplay. The directions you can go in should be labeled as left right etc.. or the actual action you are performing like: “go up the stairs” “go down the hall” “go into the room on the left” and once you know the locations it can be instead of “go to the room on the left” it can say “go into the pool room”.

The game seemed interesting enough we just got really lost and it took away from the fun of the game especially since the same image is used for multiple different rooms.

The Wolf Is Dead

The Wolf Is Dead

Detective work is never easy. When the body of Alexander Wolff is found floating down in the pool at a party for the film about his life, there’s only one man (well, Fox) for the job. You were cleared for that whole thing with the gingerbread man, anyway.

You can’t just walk into a mob boss’ house. But the murder got you some breathing room and the Chief has made a deal. You’ve got one night to investigate the house.

It’s a gorgeous mansion. Eighteen rooms. A three-storey fish tank. A garage larger than your entire apartment and a pool overlooking the coast.

And they say crime doesn’t pay.

9 suspects, one evening. What did they do? What secrets are they hiding?

They’re not just gonna tell you, that’s for sure.

Interrogate, cross reference, or just wildly accuse them with no proof. You’re the detective, after all.

You’re going to need an edge and that cool tie isn’t enough.

Thank God they partnered you with Maxwell. His manners are questionable, but he can see all of space and time so it’s easy to forgive the little things.

With the right information and some light encouragement, Max will take you back to the exact moment you’re looking for.

Escape to Moscow

Another interesting game ruined by horrible translation to English. Prepositions are almost nonexistent, plural forms are wrong and … well, just awful. Really a shame.

I liked this VN for the story and giving an interesting insight to dagestan culture. Touches little infos about cities and religion there and also about poetry and poets. Though not part of the game I even read about the Mikail Lermontow disaster for the first time ;-)

English translation has little bugs, but no problem at all.

I also liked the nice graphics
