Ultionus: A Tale of Petty Revenge
This is a good game! The first thing you may have noticed is the visuals, which look great in videos but are flat-out gorgeous running natively and fullscreened. It’s super lush, and really evokes a 32-bit style, which is my personal favorite. And just like in a classic game, the enemy sprites are way better than the player sprite. Honestly the whole game feels really nostalgic; the controls are stiff like Castlevania or Ghosts ‘n Goblins but way more responsive, letting you control your jump in midair and all that. It’s a good blend of old and new. It also manages to fix a lot of old-school gripes: you don’t get pushed back when hit, pits aren’t bottomless, and the continue system is infinite, with the extra lives mostly there to give you more chances to figure out a boss (or on hardcore, to retry a checkpoint with full health). Enemies wander around aimlessly respawning; everything wants to kill you. The music may be the best part though, done by the great Jake “virt” Kaufman it’s in a super nostalgic style that you just don’t hear anymore in modern games. The soundtrack is free on his website by the way so go check it out.

TL;DR: Retro-styled in looks, sound, and difficulty, this sidescrolling run-and-gun platformer with some shmup stages will slap you around a bit, but will still play fair.
I’ll preface this by saying I got this in the Groupees Be Mine 11 bundle. And this is probably the first time I’ve gotten a game, downloaded it, played it, AND beat it all in the span of maybe a couple of days. So with that said…
Ultionus is the story of a woman, her robot head partner, and a social networking comment that leads to a crash landing and a lot of things to kill. As you can tell by the screenshots, it’s a “retraux” game, a modern game made with retro-inspired graphics and gameplay. You actually don’t have a gun at the very start, so you need to rely on your bouncing robot head partner to destroy the enemies as you move to the left, and then you get a gun and can start blasting everything to death. This threw me off at first, but that’s what experimentation is for, right?

Ion Fury
I’ve never had any particular nostalgia for BUILD engine shooters cause I pretty much missed all of them during my childhood, so I went in without wearing nostalgia googles (well, almost). Yet, Ion Maiden (shh, don’t tell scumbag lawyers) absolutely blew me away from the first few levels.
-Solid gameplay with some of the punchiest guns I ever used in a FPS (save for Doom gameplay wads). The game lets you use its entire arsenal pretty much from the get-go and develop your own playstyle. Every gun has its place, even the default pistol which is traditionally discarded the second a shotgun shows up. That demonstrates nicely that the devs not only took the elements of classic shooters, but also improved on them.

This is a heavily shortened version of my full review. Check it out at https://www.vgr.com/ion-fury-pc-game-review
STORY: 8/10
Ion Fury is actually a prequel of sorts to a previous 3D Realms game titled “Bombshell”. It features Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison who herself is based on a cut character from Duke Nukem Forever, who originally was going to be a sidekick of Duke. Ion Fury follows Shelly’s exploits as a GDF police chief in Neo DC, tracking down the leader of a cybernetic cult that has risen on the streets, which are flooded with augmented punks that seem eager to die for their new leader. As it turns out, the leader is Professor Jadus Heskel, a scientist hellbent on world domination. It is up to Shelly to track him down and end his reign. Yeah the game is certainly not heavy on story, but much like its fathers, it doesn’t really need one. So let’s move on to talking about the gameplay.

Eversleep: Lunistice Gaiden
Before you buy, a little warning - this game was made in a self-imposed challenge to create a commercially viable game in only 30 days.
…Which didn’t quite work out! Turns out: 30 days is actually a really short amount of time to create a game that’s not only commercially viable, but also fun!
The goal was still to make a fun game in the end, with polished gameplay, but - you know - still expect some jank and not a TON of playtime!
Eversleep? More like Nosleepforthedeveloper, am I right, hahaha (help).
But what is Eversleep?
Now that’s a good question! Eversleep: Lunistice Gaiden is a 3D Platformer created with simple but fun gameplay and a cute PS1/SEGA Saturn inspired artstyle in mind. Take the role of Hana the Tanuki and jump and fight through her dreams! What secrets await her on the moon - her final destination?
Eversleep features a retro look heavily inspired by early 90s 3D graphics with bouncy enemies and a fluffy heroine.

How Eversleep came to life
Good. So you’ve made it this far in the text. We did not lose you, thank you!
Eversleep: Lunistice Gaiden was developed within 30 days as a challenge for A Grumpy Fox. For transparency’s sake: he is also working for the publisher of the game, Deck13.
Together we had this idea to provide as much data about the game’s development and release as possible: to support upcoming game developers and give interested players an insight about the development and marketing process. That means we are releasing sales numbers, discount strategies and valuable development and marketing info via Twitter and Medium. If you would like to support this approach and experiment, feel free to buy the game. And if you dislike it, feel free to make use of the refund system Steam offers. Every data helps making the process more transparent.

Princess Remedy 2: In A Heap of Trouble
GAY SPACE PRINCESS 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
it’s all the same type of shooting-them-up from the original game, but this time with added variety in the gameplay through the use of abilities gained through “dating” one NPC at a time, which replaces the flask system (although flasks work as the first game if you don’t have a date).
the bosses are very interesting to see too; the first game only had one at the very end, although with some kickass music. the only thing this game was missing was some kickass boss music

Have you ever dreamed of being a doctor, but were turned off when it involved more cellular biology than throwing flasks of questionable liquids at your patients? Have you ever looked in your mirror and thought, “Wow, I’m hot stuff,” and wanted to date an exact replica of yourself? Do you frequently like to flaunt that you are a “Princess” on your attire? Then Princess Remedy: In a Heap of Trouble may be for you!
Princess Remedy: In a Heap of Trouble features YOU! The Princess of Saturn. Everyone in Heal Land gets sick and they need you, a student of the healing arts, to come treat them. Yet school has not only taught you how to heal, but also how to love, and the game features a dating mechanic wherein you can not only mend bodies, but also break hearts. You see, each individual you date gives you a special power, and you can date or dump anybody to give you certain advantages in battle. But, “Wait!” You say, “Isn’t this taking advantage of other people?” Who cares, you’re the Princess of Saturn! You’re the hottest stuff in the land!

MURI
MURI Review - Raymond KT
This old-style game has you trying to find out why Mars has disappeared, and as you run and gun across the four episodes you discover the answers via cut scenes. As a platform/shooter (with its slower pace) it is like playing the DOS games of old and with about 2 hours worth of play, the game is a short one, but it has lots of secret areas to be found. The lack of a save point can be annoying to some modern players and the game could of benefited with some music to add a little more atmosphere, but overall this is a little great game

If you’ve played the early Duke Nukems and Commander Keens you’ll immediately feel at home in this game. So far I’ve finished the first four episodes and they’ve all been a blast to play. The game not only pays homage to Apogee-style DOS platformers but develops them a bit further. The result is a more rounded game with a lot of secrets and some exciting boss encounters.
Sound
Instead of the PC speaker beepiness (which, admittedly, is faithful to the source material) I’d have preferred an AdLib-type soundtrack.

Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt
This is a relatively short RPG/Shoot-em up/Bullet Hell sorta hybrid with a Gameboy aesthetic that’s similar to games like Undertale that play with genre-bending. While not as in depth as Undertale takes it’s narrative, gameplay and morality system, it still feels as fun to play, boasts a great soundtrack and offers one heck of a good time!
Starting with three difficulty options, Princess Remedy leaps from Saturn(?) and safely lands in A World of Hurt. In this world almost everyone is ill and Princes Remedy is the only one who possesses the cure. Enter “Healing Mode” after talking to a disease stricken NPC and get ready for some action! Ms. Remedy only shoots forward, which happens automatically. She just shoots nonstop. It’s kinda funny. She’s also equipped with healing flasks that act as grenades when pressing the action button. Don’t worry, the action button is every button on the controller.

An hour-long game with some nice retro gameplay and a story with some cute twists.
Play as Remedy, the princess of Saturn and graduate of Healing School. Your goal is to heal the prince of Hurtland who is said to suffer from EVERY ailment to exist, but to get to him, you need to heal many injured/sick/emotional people along the way.
You will heal flowers, clay people, monsters, a dark lord, animals, confused people, and sad people through the power of very short danmaku sequences. Destroy all the “monsters” of the sequence and the healing will be successful.

It is a good game, however this game should come with a manual but for future reference, z to play x to shoot. you can’t use mouse to move but rather the up down left and right keys. It is not a must buy but if you are a pro mover then it’s a must buy game. It is hard to defeat but not impossible. This game doesn’t have any sexual content or nudity. A game just for fun.

Star Girl Proxima
This is a very simple plataform game. There’s a few secrets here and there but is very straigh foward. The later levels get a little hard but not too much. NewGame+ is pretty fun on higher difficulties. Worth if you have an hour or two to burn.

I was fortunate to play/try out a demo of this game at the 2019 Retro World Expo gaming convention last year and enjoyed it very much being a fan of magical girls, anime, and old school 8 bit style platformers. I got a cute little business card of it and couldn’t wait till it came out on Steam to purchase. Now that it’s almost a year later, I’ve now played and won the game. How was it?
Fortunately it lived up to my expectations and it was a very good game, the first good platformer magical girl game I’ve seen/played on Steam. It’s not perfect by any means, but still fun and enjoyable.
