Fairune Collection

Fairune Collection

Fairune 1: A very stripped-down action-RPG, very short and lacking in plot but with fairly good music and visuals. However, it is more basic and less difficult than Fairune 2, so I recommend playing this before that.

Fairune 2: An expansion on Fairune 1 in every way. There are now far more areas, boss fights, fixed damage enemies that give no experience but some of which stay defeated forever, deeper mixes of enemies, more strategy that comes from stronger enemies still being defeatable, multi-level skills, far more creative puzzles, modestly improved visuals, more, better, longer and more upbeat music tracks, a far deeper plot, and a longer, better and harder final boss.

Lots of secrets and has that difficulty that makes it amazing. Lots of cool achievements for the people that love collecting them. RPG feeling 8-bit game with puzzles to progress. I cannot express how much this was WORTH the money! The achievements just keep you going!

edit: There are bugs at times, so all I can say is SAVE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! but it’s still an amazing game. (Also some of the achievements are bugged, in a good way though)

Beacon

Updated Added 3/24/2019

Keep in mind this is a game still in beta phase, so it’s not quite finished. I’ll likely update my review as Beacon continues development.

I absolutely love top-down shooters and Beacon is no exception, in fact, it makes me appreciate them more. I’ve stuck around playing since it was released on Itch. It’s changed quite a lot, such as additions of enemies and bosses, loot areas, and of course all the bug-squashing, both technical and literal. It’s a little terrifying that there’ll be even more enemies and bosses later, which means plenty more ways to die, but hey, mutations are a thing.

Beacon has a nice low-poly artsyle, a pretty good soundtrack, and interesting writing and ideas. It has some weird design choices regarding weapons and enemies, but is over-all rewarding, if not occasionally frustrating due to a few enemies.

The gameplay is pretty typical: you can use 2 guns, have 1 equipment, 1 consumable/held passive, a grenade type, and as many passive non-held items as you want. You can smack things and dodge-roll, too.

The big game idea is that, when you die, you use DNA pickups you collect from enemies and can “mutate” next run… Or you can do what I did and beat it without mutating, which is pretty doable. Mutations change how the character looks/acts/stats and how the character reacts to items and story elements.

Evil Maze

Evil Maze

I did not enjoy myself while playing this game. The dark theme was a nice touch compared to the usual bright RPGmaker games but that didn’t carry the game enough for me to enjoy this. You start at level 10? on the bottom of what I can only guess is a 10 floor dungeon. I got to the 3rd (7th) floor before I stopped playing

The combat is a simple swing harder and faster than the enemy before it kills you, that’s kind of the theme with most RPG games but in this game you seem to take damage from out of nowhere, and the enemies have no swing animations. This makes it really hard to know where it is safe to stand and what is damaging you. On top of all this, some enemies are massive damage sponges, I was swinging into a 200 health normal enemy doing 7 damage and not every attack was hitting.

Intro

EvilMaze is a hack and slash RPG Maker game with a heroine with big boobs. The only character potrait that this game has is the heroine and both of her potrait and sprite will change based on her equipments. Most of the equipments will have a lack of clothes. On the other side, there are a lot of hidden “secrets” in this game.

i bought this game, expecting some casual platforming, instead i found. basically everything is tailored to wreck you kaizo mario world style. fun challenge but honestly cheap in execution and i might just refund this knowing the 1k point achievment is “Virtually” impossbile

Update: i don’t know why i didn’t include this in the original review. but she’s not even a real catgirl she doesn’t have a tail.

I ignored the bad reviews. Didn’t even read them. “They must be exaggerating, a game with a catgirl can’t be a bad game”. But it was. Lesson learned: never buy a game just because there’s an anime girl in it.

I’m giving a thumbs up because the game is so cheap but I was debating this as the game could be better.

The idea of this indie game is walking around a big house to find gems which to some people sounds boring but I think the “hide and seek” collecting can be fun and relaxing but this game needs a few improvements.

1. walking is too slow there should be a sprint button

2. All you do is walk over to gems and pick them up, you should be able interact with things around you and gems should be better hidden.

The first level is very dark, you can not see unless you get 2.674 inches away from what you are trying to look at. The whole time I played this game I was hoping I would be put out of my misery, or find some alternate way to leave this hellscape of a game. I could not stop until I found all the gems, I was trapped, trapped in an unending series of dark hallways that could have fooled even the greatest of physicists into thinking they had found themselves within a prison of non-euclidean rooms. Overall, I did not enjoy, but I got all the gems. I escaped this demented prison with over half of my brain cells left. I highly recommend! (I purchased the bundle for alpha-sonic games, great value!)

The Thief Girl ~ 盗賊少女 ~

Surprisingly a very fun and enjoyable puzzle/horror game! You have to steal treasure while not being seen or caught by different monsters. I enjoyed the different tiers in the level with how much treasure you collect, how often you are seen and how often you are caught to create more suspense and strategy while playing the game. Sometimes it was a little buggy but overall a great game!!

This is a fantastic trivia game with a simple but charming interface! The various styles of answering methods for the gameplay keeps the it interesting rather than the standard multiple choices, and the humorous storyline really brings it all together. It would be great if this further develops into multi-player even if just remote play.

Highly recommend this family friendly and brain game!!

Dungeon Siege III

Dungeon Siege III

Dungeon Siege III is an action R.P.G. developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Square Enix. For centuries Legionnaires have protected the nation of Ehb until they were betrayed and all but driven to the brink of extinction. Years later, now that evil has returned to Ehb the people turn to the few remaining Legionnaires for the protection of the past. As an heir to the Legion will you accept this plea for help? Dungeon Siege III is the latest entry in the beloved long running classic roleplaying series from Square Enix. It is worth nothing though that this title is quite different from the previous games in the series.

Awwwh “Dungeon Siege III”… I can’t have a clear opinion about you. No, wait. I have…

First of all: Dungeon Siege I & (especially) Dungeon Siege II were one really big part of my gaming history while I was a kid, I loved them! So, I was really excited when I heard that a new “Dungeon Siege”-game will come out. But then I saw the negative reviews of how disappointed the people were… so I waited for a sale and grabbed it, with good conscience. The whole series only cost me 5 bucks - so I left out my daily dosis of coffee and pizza… nevermind.

Don’t Die, Minerva!

Don’t Die, Minerva!

i really wanted to give a positive review cuz there isnt any other game on this genre that i like it more (actually it comes 2gether with nuclear throne).

can’t finish game cuz i got bugged on lvl 9 twice or more, before and after boss (somewhere i read that game isnt finished and its abandoned, but i hoped i got unlucky the 1st time, tho 2nd try was kinda similar).

gameplay is simple and game is hella cute in general, i really wish i could enjoy it to its end without bugs or “no end” story. nothing special about story btw, just dungeons and progress. the more u play the game, the more good runs u ll have on the next ones by unlocking many stuff.

Don’t Die, Minerva! is a Cute Rogue-Lite Worth Buying

Don’t Die, Minerva! is another great take on the rogue-lite genre. The cutesy art style that follows your character Minerva banishing ghosts with a flashlight is a step away from violent graphics. While the combat can feel simple at times depending on the type of flashlight weapon you have, the developer uses a few mechanics to fight that. The usage of gems that alter your weapon’s element alongside different flashlights with unique projectiles try to keep combat enjoyable.

My life as an archeologist

Every run will help you go further in the archeological treasure hunt, in this clicker roguelite blending the simple mindless entertainment of the clicker with the ever-renewing fun choices of a roguelite, where every single decision can help you reach the final boss or hasten your demise.

With 60+ types of equipment and 60+ fully animated monsters to loot them from, you will be able to mold your character as you choose by improving a wide array of stats and gaining unique abilities!

Every single boss you slay, up to 10 per run, will let you choose one artefact from a pool of three. These artefacts will help specialize your character as you wish, by giving her attacks a chance to do explosive damage, allowing you to stop time, gain a ferocious turtle buddy, or a healing fairy to help you to deal just a bit more damage before you die.

Three classes to choose from every run:

  • The bulky zoologist: This heavy hitter knows the enemy’s weak point and specializes in deadly poison and survivability!

  • The cunning ethnologist: This ancient technology specialist knows how to maximize her results when using long forgotten machinery and managing her own energy to do it again, and again!

  • The never-alone theologist: Why attack enemies on your own when you can call on ancient spirits to do your dirty work faster while you relax?

Finally, even dying is not the end of the world! Every monster you kill during your run advances your research, and with enough coins you can even acquire some of their powers!
