Freedom: How I Escaped
For those who like stealth, maze, and puzzles, this is an early access game with potential.
It has a simple objective, avoid the lights, and run to escape from the place you are.
Nice voxel art and sound.
I had problems controlling the character with a keyboard because my brain thinks I’m playing resident evil 2 when in this kind of camera haha (in re2 when you press up you walk forward). But then I used an xbox controller and it worked perfectly. I wish to suggest an option for the player to change the camera when needed, maybe just cut to another camera angle (like age2 you can “rotate” the map).

A puzzle game with an inspiring theme and very cool Voxel art. Music makes you enter that world and forces you to want to go through all the levels, seeing the challenges that lie you ahead.
Congratulations developers, I want to see more levels soon!

Dustwind
Let’s start by saying that I really wanted to love this game. I was swayed by nostalgia over Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel but was ultimately confronted with the realization that Dustwind still needs a lot of polish to compete with modern games.
The AI, in general, isn’t anything special which in some cases takes away any bit of immersion you might wanted to experience. Enemies screaming HELP due to low health, but insist on running towards you, or staying completely stationary while being shot at with sniper fire.

I cannot give a positive review of this game. I tryied… but this is getting worse everytime i play on it. I really wanted to love this game.

DEAD This game is dead, in all ways. No one plays PvP, no ones play PvE. If you have friends to play with… give it a try but do not expect playing solo.
-
DIFFICULTY The difficulty of this game will make you nuts.. it is hardcore on every map unless you know exact positions of every enemies. It is a TRY HARD game until you finish successfully a mission.

Beautiful graphics, simple and efficient mechanics. However, the navigation within a chapter is more than cryptic; and it looks like it’s possible to have a sneak peek at some of the 15 chapters… I found that part totally confusing as the chapter is selected by simply hovering over it (it then has the little glitter around it). One slide in the carousel shows this. I completed the 6 story levels of the 1st chapter, and then moved on to the levels with coins and gems. Hint system seems adequate once you can use it. On the fence about this one… Price will be a factor, so will revisit once released.

A Comfortable Burden
This game is simple in design, rich in passing a message.
If you don’t know what the mental burden is, check this game out, if you want to support a cause, check this game out. if you want to teach someone the subject, gift them the game!

In dire need of an instant-restart button. If you get stuck once at the start of a 45 or 90 second session, you have to sit out the entire session knowing you cannot make it because there are no ways to make up for lost time - walking speed and task length cannot be modified and it’s easy to estimate that you cannot take care of three rooms in 15 seconds, so why waste your time doing so? The at times very clunky controls don’t exactly enhance the experience either and I’d suggest the devs highlight the tasks when they can actually be taken care of instead of when you’re just kinda close, or maybe put the characters on exact lanes, because finding the correct (read: pixel-perfect while inexplicaby also vague) positioning for a few of the tasks takes ages. A save feature would be highly welcome as well. Overall, the game feels like an alpha release or proof of concept - which is a shame, because there is a quality work behind all these hindrances.

Bombshell
While it’s not really a bad game and definitely not as bad as some reviews make it out to be, it has a lot of missed potential. I feel with a stronger story that took itself less seriously, and with better voice acting and stronger music the game could be a real blast. Oh well, maybe Ion Maiden will prove to be a stronger experience given it’s using the good old Build engine, the same tech which powered Duke Nukem 3D, the series from which Bombshell was born from? Time will tell. In the meantime, I would say Bombshell is worth giving a shot if you can find it on sale and crave a simple isometric shooter with a b-movie story and playing as a badass female with a robot arm. Because as mediocre as this game might be, Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison is still a hell of a gal and I really hope to see her in more games and watch her grow as a character.

Buggy as hell, and very unpolished. Started out as a fun game, but by the end it was just frustrating and stupid. I didn’t even get the final weapon because the game’s fucked, which also meant I couldn’t do 2 of the challenge missions, which were some of the most fun parts.
I initially started playing this because I wanted the backstory before moving on to the related game Ion Maiden / Ion Fury which looks much better than this ended up being.
The WEAPON in this game called Ion Maiden, in railgun mode, is massively OP, kills everything except bosses in 1-2 shots, and pierces, so if you line/group up a few, kill ‘em all at once. It’s energy based (no bullets) and recharges its ammo at an ok rate, which gets faster as you upgrade it. It auto-aims too, but I think that’s all guns because the cursor targeting is really fucky. The only time I have to switch to other weapons is if there’s an extended battle and I can’t be waiting for the railgun to recharge. This also means that most of the ammo pickups scattered around the game are useless. One enemy is an ice skeleton enemy with shield, and sometimes they “block” (even though there’s no visual indication except that they are standing still) and if you shoot them it reflects the damage back at you. So…I’ve killed myself on that many times.

Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire
Greetings!
I’m a long time avid gamer, so I thought I’d drop in a review for this gem of a game. Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire is a turn-based adventure game taking place in a war torn Avestan. The game is stylised from Central and South Asian culture and features the journey of Princess Tahira. I’ll split the review into two parts, I’ll start with the gameplay and then move on to the story.
Gameplay: 8/10
Personally, I’m new to the tactical turn based genre. Luckily, the game is fairly forgiving in this respect and the combat learning curve is not too steep. Being a newbie at the turn based games, I was able to complete the game in medium difficulty with a fair few restarts which ensures the challenge is there. Hardcore turn based people may prefer going for the harder difficulties.

Tahira was a fun, but brief, adventure that in the end, felt like the first hour of a really good movie.
It ended when the character and story development was JUST starting to get rolling, JUST starting to hook you in–and then abruptly, it’s over—clearly paving the way to a sequel or two.
Which, incidentally I’ll be buying–because Tahira seems to have nailed a lot of the fundamental aspects of gaming, correctly.
Most of your time, and I mean 90%, will be fighting. And the fights are large-scale, multi-staged, arenas which make for some pretty triumphant moments if you use the battle mechanics correctly to your advantage.

Septerra Core
Note: Considering Septerra Core is my Favorite Game, my opinion may be biased.
But first the issues with the Steam version:
-It is the 1.02 version, you need to download version 1.04 or the GOG version that fixes dialogue skipping, but has a few delays with a few combat sounds.
-The Videos don’t work, unless you have a QuickTime 6 or below and you run it on XP compatibility. Sometimes that will not work either and have to search the internet for additional help.
-There is a Spell: Destroyer(Chaos+Law) that may crash the Game, usually on bosses.

This 1999 RPG is a good buy, but it is not without it’s flaws. If you are into Final Fantasy 7, or the Fallout series, you will enjoy the story of this game as it is very similar.
First the story: It’s very well polished. There are seven “shells” (hence the prefix sept), with each shell being at a different position relative to the hot core in the center of the planet. The inhabitants of shell 1 (the Chosen) believe they are trying to save the world when they just want to use the powers for their own ends. In this game, saving the world means aligning the shells so that the world is stable. But a lady on shell 2 (the protaginist named Maya) is aware of the dangers the abuse of power is bringing to her town, Oasis is sets off on a journey to stop this madness.

Lara Croft GO
A great Puzzle game with a lot of cool mechanics and awesome graphics.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1504132845
There is nothing connected with Lara Craft series except Lara Croft. I played some games earlier, they were made in action/RPG setting with a lot of dialogues and story. There is no story, there is no action and RPG elements. There are just Lara and a lot of puzzles :D
The game is turn-based puzzle game. There is no hurry, so you have a lot of time to think. Levels are small, so even if you die, you don’t need to make a lot of same actions again.

After the excellent Hitman GO, it would have been trivial to follow up with another game in a similar gameboard based world, just putting in the certainly much more attracrive Lara in place of 47. However, Square Enix Montreal took the high road, and ended up with something much more, and also much less… at least it looked like that for quite a while. Bear with me, this review is going to be of the long-a**ed persuasion.
By taking the high road, I mean that SqEM invented a completely different environment for the turn-based puzzles of Lara Croft GO. They chose to look like an old-school platform game set in 3D, surreptitiously inserting visual extras like dynamic lighting and smoothed edges into the decidedly low-poly environment. As a result, the game’s more closed-in spaces look simply very good, and then they open to beautiful vistas, sometimes containing not-yet-seen (or already seen) parts of the environments. The jungle / cave complex is rather static, so it’s all the more intense when some action like unfriendly animals or giant boulders happen. Massively adding to the atmosphere are the excellent sounds like gates crashing down behind, underlining the impossibility of going back, or the restrained soundtrack that’s maybe more a soundscape. In short, the game provides one of the best “being there” feeling I’ve ever encountered, and it’s pure joy to walk through the game’s levels, basically uninterrupted…

Fear Effect Sedna
achievements
no broken achievements, no glitched ones - a good pick. however, some achievements are easily missable and you probably will replay game 2-3 times to get everything. well, at least game is short
Fear Effect rant
let’s be honest, if not for the name of “Fear Effect” - if you remove all reference to that franchise and rename characters into “whatever” - noone would even care about that game. Fear Effect: Sedna it is a generic isometric kinda-tactical real-time shooter with few puzzles thrown it. there are tons of games like that on every platform and each is doing better job. the only reason people care about that game is for its title - being a part of “Fear Effect” legacy

First of all I should mention that I am huge fan of the original two games and therefore have waited many years to finally get a new installment. Needless to say that when this game got announced and successfully funded I was extremely hyped.
However with the presentation of the gameplay style my first concerns developed because of how different it was from the original games. The gameplay is also one of my main points of criticism. It includes basically all of the features of the original games and that is something that I highly appreciate. But on the other hand the game included a new tactical pause with special abilities for each of the characters. Both of which are not a bad idea but the execution is a bit off if you decide to combine both elements. The special abilities feel like from a Moba game wich is suiting for the isometric view and with only one character they work completely fine. But if you have to play more than one character at the same time it gets a bit problematic. Some abilites just don´t really work with the tactical pause. Because of this you have switch between the real time and the pause feature more often that planned just because some characters didn´t do what you ordered them to do. This sadly makes the gameplay serviceable at best. But to be fair the gameplay was not the greates either in the original games. So you can get over this issue.
