Wildlife Camp

Wildlife Camp

This is an awesome game! When I first opened the game, I thought it would only be about healing animals. Which, most games like this are. But no, you get to care for the animals (feeding, watering, petting, grooming, and cleaning hooves if applicable) and you also have to train them! Once you trained them all the tricks possible (you have to unlock them all, first) you can release them to either the Savannah, the Songutu Forest, or the Kingo Swamp based on where the animal lives. I recently found out that you can name the animals and even dress them up or give them ‘haircuts’. Wildlife Camp is more in depth than I thought it would be. I’d give it a 10/10! I totally recommend this, the game is way underpriced and it should be worth about $20! If you love animals and/or you would love to be a veterinarian and an animal caretaker, Wildlife Camp won’t disappoint you!

Cute game and easy to get achievements too.

It gets a bit boring and repetitive when you try to get the achievements.

The game is buggy sometimes and training the animals break my arm. There’s too much of that…

But if you like to take care of animals, try this. It’s suitable for kids too, since it always tells you what you need to do next.

Last Light

Last Light

I was first attracted to Last Light for its art style, which is absolutely beautifull. For somebody who does not like horror type of games this one really made want to unlock all the achievement (still one to go). So without spoiling anything this is my short review score:

Art: 10/10

Story: 9/10

Difficulty: 7/10

Scare factor: 9/10

It took me 3 hours to go through the first playthrough (took so long because I was scared). To unlock all other achievement, except for one (where are you third floor director!!!) it took me another 10 hours as I did not use any playthrough or guides.

I really enjoyed this game! Only played through it once so far but going to go through it again and try to 100% it next time. My biggest criticism is that the keyboard controls are very frustrating when you’re trying to run away from enemies. I haven’t tried with a controller yet, hopefully it’s easier with that.

Something to NOTE! This game has the following elements that might be an issue for some when playing: occult themes, lots of blood, body horror, bullying/harassment, medical equipment, dead bodies, multiple text descriptions of violence, and two text descriptions of animal abuse. Much “lighter” than most horror games, but please take it into consideration before playing.

Has potential so far! I’d love to see more spawning options, camera controls, cinematic camera maybe, and different maps. Mindless entertainment at its best.

Ultimate Arena

Ultimate Arena

This game is more fun than it has any right to be.

The best words to describe Ultimate Arena as would be “Simplistic Battle Royale Simulator”. This is actually very-reminiscent of those Hunger Games simulators online, but I feel that this game has more variety, is more customizable and actually has the slightest visuals, even if it’s just a top-down view of a small map with simplistic stick figures running around. Essentially, you can set up battle royals between as many people as you like, set up a few additional rules if you want and drop everyone in, waiting to see who the victor will be while occasionally having a bit of input as to where to place mines or where to drop care packages.

Ok, this is a simulator. It’s pretty funny at times. You have a lot of freedom to add stuff, from characters to ways to fight and die. There’s plenty stuff at the workshop to add to the game. Now, this is not much a “game”. Yup, it is a simulator. Other than adding some mines and bring some events upon the field, you’re just watching the fight developing.

So, the fun is to have a lot of fighters, have a bunch of funny lines and events and watch your favorite people or the ones you dislike to fight till the end. Even when simple, can be entertaining for a while.

Alive 2 Survive: Tales from the Zombie Apocalypse

Alive 2 Survive: Tales from the Zombie Apocalypse

I’m posting this review since I hit level 5 and now the game doesn’t seem to want to progress anymore. Up until that point, I was enjoying this game, as it was a fun diversion for 15-20 minutes a day. Any longer and yeah it would get boring. Sometimes I wished there would be a random 3rd option that would pop up just to throw you a loop instead of the standard 2 choices. I enjoyed the quirks and artwork of the game and just the general atmosphere of it. But unfortunately, even though I thought the game was fairly entertaining, I’m going to give it a thumbs down since the level 5 glitch has killed the game for me. If it gets fixed, I will change my review.

Very nice game, I love a Choices matter kinda game and this one does it well.

Trying to keep a level balance between factions in your group at the same time making friends and having a love life while not running out of supplies is much harder than it sounds.

I recommend this

Quench

Quench

Guiding animals through the wasteland has never been so fun and challenging! I was worried this game might be easy but I’m not even to the baboons and it is kicking my butt! I even restarted a level because ONE elephant died right at the last river crossing and I couldn’t bear to move on knowing if I just redid the level I could easily prevent it and move on with all of them.

Real player with 18.3 hrs in game

Quench is an absolutely gorgeous game. The papercraft style is unique and modern, and yet blends seamlessly into the tone and setting of the game. The music completes the sensory experience and each track selected perfectly suits the challenges.

Personally I found the puzzles to be just the right difficulty; I could pass through the vast majority of them the first time, but despite this I never felt like a level was too easy for me. Each still required thought and perception to be able to complete. The real draw is the story, however, which has a beautiful message of preservation and respect for nature without being overt and in-your-face.

Dungeons 3

Dungeons 3

There are things I like and things I don’t like in this game. I have gotten and completed all the DLCs. I have also completed Dungeons 2.

I start from the things I didn’t like.

The trailer shows a nice movie - that is just an ad in the store. There are no such animations in the game. After some missions(not all) you are shown a partially animated 2d cartoon. No 3d animations like in the trailer, nothing like that in the game.

Dungeons… There were dungeons in Dungeons 2, but in Dungeons 3 there is just 1 dungeon in each of the missions. It was fun to visit and explore dungeons other than your own in Dungeons 2, nothing like that here. There are no other dungeons.

Disclaimer: I have not played any of the earlier installments in the series, nor have I played any other dungeon sim games, so I have nothing to compare this game to.

General

In this game, you build a dungeon, create an army of evil and invade the aboveground world, called Overworld, to defeat heroes and complete various objectives, while at the same time defending your dungeon from the heroes' raids. The game has single player, co-op, and multiplayer mods, but I have only tried out the single player campaign.
