dmc meets mgr meets dooms it has both hack and slash and shooters elements. I give it solid 6/7 out of 10. The combat is alright at times but slightly jank at times but hopefully when the game is fully released today the combat is more polished. Another bonus you can wear a school uniform.

Do they hand out gaming awards Willy Nilly in Brighton? How much brown nosing did the developer do to get an award for this pile of dung? The developer can be found here… https://twitter.com/BojanBrbora

4pm is the type of game after having finished it, not only will you want a complete refund, but you will also want to be compensated for time spent playing it, maybe in the way of a $10.00 gift card at Bunnings. In fact we should make that a law here on Steam, so that less and less trash keeps building up.

I recognise this game deals with some very serious issues. I also understand that this alone does not make it immune to criticism.

My thoughts are mixed. The game was short, and conveyed a powerful message. Succinct, and direct. But the dialogue was not particularly inspired, and felt forced.

The story being played over the course of a day I did like, and the revelations at the end were also thought-provoking. However, these high points are truly offset by the fact that the game is entirely played while the camera is criminally defocused. Yes, I recognise this does convey the feeling of someone who is ‘defocused’ in the head, as it were - the same with the unresponsive controls. I GET IT. That does however make for a vastly frustrating gaming experience. Enjoying a video game isn’t always about having fun all of the time - some of my favourite games are true heart-wrenchers - but sadly due to the fact that this particular game has all of the right ingredients, but frustrating execution means that I really had to force myself to finish it. Any longer and I daresay I’d not have had the patience.

Dirty Wars: September 11

Dirty Wars: September 11

Chile, September 11, 1973

The Military Coup of Pinochet’s army overthrows President Salvador Allende’s democratically elected government, marking the beginning of 17 years of horror and genocide. Exile, censorship, torture and the forced disappearance of people who oppose the new regime are performed on a daily basis.

Maximiliano and Abigaíl, a young couple who decide to stay in Chile, join the resistance against the dictatorship, sacrificing everything to enter a life of secrecy in which they must face multiple challenges.

Dirty Wars is a video game that combines stealth mechanics, puzzles and interactive dialogues in a closed and immersive world with defined objectives.

You play as Maximiliano and Abigail, who must overcome difficult objectives in order to opose the regime, in a time where only one side had all the weapons and the use of information and counter-intelligence are much more valuable.

There are no inventory systems or acquired skills, in the resistance the only weapon to survive is your intelligence and your ability to understand the security rules that will keep you going in the fight against the dictatorship, an unequal fight that will take years.

The compartmentalization is the iron law of resistance. No member can know personal information about an other, or anything that the dictatorship can use. Anyone could be captured, tortured and forced to give out information at any time.

In moments of great tension and danger, armed confrontation is not an option. Use the elements of the environment to hide and avoid being heard by the repressive forces.

Dirty Wars is a Chilean video game for the world. Introducing a completely Chilean and Latin American story that shows part of the culture, art, music and aesthetics from this corner of the world.

Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider™

Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider™

Caution: This review includes information that will spoil Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall and Dishonored 2 for some readers!

While Dishonored and Dishonored 2 focus more on the politics of the Empire of the Isles, the side stories – The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, and now Death of the Outsider – explore the playable characters’ inner conflicts, as well as the dark, supernatural sides of the game series’ lore. This allows the developers to expand on the game universe without over bloating the main series titles, and give the side stories their own tone and personality.

Real player with 29.9 hrs in game

Roughly a year after Dishonored 2 its expansion pack, Death of the Outsider, was released. Events take place just after its predecessor: we now take control of Billie Lurke and, initially, our job is to find her old mentor, Daud. Once he is located we are tasked with killing the Outsider. An interesting plot (even more interesting is the ending) that will continue in the 5 chapters the expansion pack offers.

New (albeit fewer) powers

It’s always nice to see what new ideas developers come up with. I thought Billie’d probably have Blink and Dark Vision and some new powers. Instead, even these powers have slightly been changed. We teleport by using Displace which first requires us to put a marker somewhere and only then can we finally complete teleportation. if the marker is put on an enemy he’ll die a gruesome death with bloody parts flying every which way.

Mirror’s Edge™ Catalyst

Mirror’s Edge™ Catalyst

One of the main reasons why I finally laid my hands on Mirror’s Edge Catalyst only in the end of 2021 is that I laid my dick (metaphorically, of course) on the first rule of the multimedia consumer: never trust other’s opinion. There were so much hate, so many complaints about this game—and while I still love the original Mirror’s Edge, I thought Catalyst was not worth my attention, since so many people said it was a total crap. Besides, there’re always many other games, so I can’t say I was bored or have been missing Faith so much. But finally I bought Catalyst, mostly thanks to many ASMR videos on YouTube with amazing views and sound ambience from the game. And you know, I’m not dissappointed. Not a bit. Certainly, I understand that a pure parkour game can be not very satisfying, especially a year after Dying Light came out. But Mirror’s Edge never was a complex multi-aspect game—it was always a stylish speed running entertainment with an amazing audiovisual component. It’s simple by its nature, and that’s really good, when you just want to switch your brain off and relax, while getting aesthetical enjoyment.

Pulse

Pulse

I really didn’t like this game.

Lifespan : If you don’t try to get the collectibles, you can finish it in under 30mins and I don’t see anyone playing this twice except for achievements.

Story : There’s a crow that gives you vague sentences all throughout the game and it ends up with a quick written epilogue that makes you feel like you’ve missed half the story. You’re supposed to be a blind girl but the way you see feels more like you’re on drugs than your blind character giving images to sounds and you’re always running and jumping everywhere…

Real player with 12.2 hrs in game

If I have to describe Pulse with a single word, I would use unique .

Yes, because it is simply a game unique and ingenious.

Use Eva, a simple girl losing her sight has developed and improved the sense of sound, from a fantasy world!

In short Pulse is a game that should be experienced, so my advice is to try it without thinking twice.

TesserAct

TesserAct

In most puzzle-platformer games, you can clearly see your goal and the puzzle is how to get there. In TesserAct, the question typically is not how, but where. TesserAct leans more heavily toward platformer than puzzler, and can be rather difficult at times. It took me about 5 hours to complete, so it’s not a game for those seeking long term entertainment.

As you should be able to tell from the promotional video and images, TesserAct is not a game for graphics snobs. At the time of this review, there is no native 9:16 support, there are few graphics options, and textures aren’t that great.

The good

The game concept is one that is right up my alley. I love physics games like Portal so when I saw this in the Steam store I thought “eh, why not”. Man, was I in for a nasty surprise.

The bad

Pretty much everything. The level layout is poor, and most of the time you’re not sure where to go. This is especially tricky in timed levels where you die after the timer reaches zero. Also the objects in the game are horribly narrow, you really have to squeeze into a catwalk for example. Something which can also get annoying if you’re trying to get somewhere.
