Starlight Explorers

Starlight Explorers

It’s a fun way to learn about gravity and orbits, with a story designed to welcome a younger audience to those concepts. Beyond that, the simple aim-and-release gameplay is versatile enough to range from a meditative squiggle-drawing activity to a fiendish spatial-reasoning challenge.

The game is very relaxing and satisfying when you find the right trajectory. For me, Starlight really shines toward the middle of the story missions where the planets are no longer shown and you must find them through their gravitation pull.

This is the best game ever!!! Its so fun because there is no violence and has helpful features to make it through easier. The dialougue is real snazzy becuase it makes me feel like i am actually talking to my favorite princesses!!!! The cutscenes even include my character with voice acting too!! The magic commands are simple, they have pleasant animations like the twirl one thats my favvvv ^w^ I like how the tasks dont demand any rush and leaves you to explore all you want. Turning the poor little imps back into sprites is so uplifting and so is helping out all of my bffs throughout the story. Plus running around the locations makes me really very happy because i get to twirl around with the wand and look at all the sparkles, I could do it all day!!

Obvioulsy I bought this for my daughter. She’s 4 and has grown up in a world with ipads and media on demand and wireless internet isn’t a luxury but rather almost a legal right. This game is atrocious on every aspect. Even though I bought it on a deeply discounted Steam sale, I still feel ripped off. My 4 year old immediately complained about the low quality of graphics. There is no resolution settings. At all. It’s defaulot resolution will essentially just scale to your native. My native resolution is 7860x1600 (triple 30" lcds). Reducing the resolution down to 2560x1600, the game still looks like crap. Secondary, the controls are some retarded arrow key and spacebar combo with M and N as action keys. There is no default recognition of the Microsoft Xbox/PC remote controller, and I was unable to reprogram it ato the game, since the game seems to override controller recognition upon start. Your kids are stuck with the keyboard and mouse. Just learn like I’ve learned…when you see the “Disney” logo, it always means “FAMILY FOCUSED (soccer mom minivan, stepford wives, corporate whored out shit show applications and movies and themeparks.”

This game is pretty bad.

The controls are very wonky and difficult. The cursor just doesn’t move right, the click detection fields are not where they should be based on the pointer of the cursor, and just generally controlling Tiana and figuring out what to do next is frustrating. The minigames are terrible and unclear, and they seem to just play themselves. Overall, only the music, art and voice acting are good, but the gameplay is ROUGH. My daughter couldn’t really enjoy this one, the controls just don’t work well and there’s too much reading required for such simple gameplay.

Disney•Pixar Brave: The Video Game

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. The different mechanics behind each elemental charm are neat, and the combat is fun enough to be entertaining.

My daughter loved it, and now she wants to be Merida.

The difficulty spikes in a couple of fights, and the camera angle isn’t always the greatest, but overall, this game is really well done.

Something I was surprised by was that you never actually fight mordu. The whole time the game was leading up to it, and my daughter was excited. But in the end, nope. Just refight the bosses from each of the levels. Seems like a weird choice.

Well, the film wasn’t entirely what I’d hoped for (maybe in a sequel someday, it’ll get the Mulan-like war tale it deserves!), but me being into Scottish culture (plus the Scots got the best accents in the world bar none), I loved all the Scottish elements and loved Merida as a strong, independent female, so overall, really liked the film to pick this game up on Xmas sale!

The game takes some liberties from the film for gameplay purpose, so we get to explore a lil' more of (a stylized) Scottish/Gaelic nature, outside the films (like the Causeways I guess reminisce Fingal’s Cave).

Is it as bad as people say it is? Unfortunately, yes. The majority of this game is not great at all, and that’s with me playing the whole thing after the updates and going in with the mindset that people were probably just hating on it and that I’d like it.

This game is split into four parts. Prologue, Acts I-III, and the Epilogue. Part by part, here’s how I felt. (No spoilers)

Prologue- Actually decent. It has issues like certain things being too loud or too quiet, but I never had a tough time or got lost, at least not for very long at all.

Dear potential buyer,

Good job for scrolling down to the reviews rather than trusting the developers.

First of all, the trailer doesn’t show actual gameplay footage, it was made in sfm and it’s supposed to show how would the game play out.

If they actually cared to finish it

On launch day, the game was unplayable, full of missing textures, no cutscenes at all and with a massive list of gamebreaking bugs (varying from losing your weapons in between the loading zones, randomly teleporting and sometimes invisible enemies to just straight up crasing for no reason).

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is a heart-warming adventure that is one of the best casual games I have played this year. Play as Alba, the young girl as she goes to visit her grandparents on an island where the mayor wishes to build a hotel. Alba and her friend want to help preserve the nature instead. Through her kind actions, Alba seeks to collect signatures from the locals to convince the mayor to change his mind.

Quaint game with a purpose and a message.

Would be good to play with young children (so you can explain some of the situations and language to young kids- teens will “get it” without help IMHO).

English translation is quite good, though some knowledge of Spanish helps.

Some minor issues with getting stuck in terrain. If this happens, load your save, and once in the save where you are stuck, go to the main menu, and into settings. There is a “reset Alba’s position” button that will reset here to a spawn point (not where you are stuck, which seems to happen most often at the Castle- but at the start point for the day, no progress lost, just a bit of travel needed to get back to where you were).

My daughter loves this game more than most of the other Disney ones she has played on Steam. The controls are very simple yet teach her some basic keyboard and mouse skills. The puzzles start out very simple and progress in a way that even a four year old can pick up without too much help, but I love how it challenges her mind. She also enjoys that she can go to the mirror and change up her hair, dresses, etc. She’s already put 15 hours into this game in just a couple of weeks and seems to always want to play it. It’s one that I also don’t mind helping her with because there are some actually fun minigames to be had.

Title: Disney Alice in Wonderland

Genre: Action, Adventure

Developer: Etranges Libellules Studios

Release Date: 2 MAR 2010

History ♤ ♘

Instead of playing with Alice, and with the help of the white rabbit, and other characters that you are exchanging as you go, you travel through Wonderland, with many brilliantly colored places and fantastic scenarios to explore, knowing new skills, destroying the herbs, mushrooms and boxes in their path, solving a variety of puzzles and facing the soldiers of the Red Queen towards the final battle against the Jabberwocky.

I rate this game a 5/5, Although I prefer the Disney animation version over the Tim Burton movie version It was still a fun adventure and I loved it! This game had beautiful whimsical graphics and the game play somewhat reminded me of the Lego pc games. The only things I found annoying were Alice being in my way constantly (I just wanted to punch her lol) and when you finish the story mode and searching for those extra items that you didn’t get the first time around it’s like finding a needle in a haystack without bonus Indicators (which I really like from the Lego games) and I really think this game should have them since you have to find so many chests also I wish this game would’ve had steam achievements. All in all I still highly recommend for anyone who is a wonderland fan.

Disney Tangled

I love this game. It’s a very fun Tangled game. The graphics aren’t great but remember it is an old game. It’s perfect for any kid or person who likes simple games who likes Rapunzel. The controls aren’t hard to figure out once you’ve learned them, and there’s partial controller support for kids who don’t know how to use a keyboard. One feature I like a lot is that they have Rapunzel’s hair down and that it trails behind her as you play. In most games it is braided but in this one it is how it is in the movie.

Real player with 7.8 hrs in game

It IS possible to set up a Controller with Steam Big Picutre mode so that you can play as Rapunzel. In my case, I have a Logitech Controller. You have to set up the Controller in Big Picture mode, and manually map the joystick to the w/a/s/d keys on the keyboard to allow for moving, yes, as RAPUNZEL. You have to manually map the x and b controller buttons to the left and right mouse buttons for frying pan and spinning actions, and you have to map the x buton to spacebar for jumping, and then y button for left shift, as this will allow Rapunzel to hold hands with Flynn. You may want to try adding a controller button for toggling characters like l1 and r1, but I haven’t found this necessaary yet. Hope this helps someone, as it IS POSSIBLE TO SET UP A CONTROLLER AND PLAY RAPUNZEL, NOT JUST FLYNN, WITH THE CONTROLLER.

Finally a product that stimulates the mind and allows you to bring out the creative part that is in each of us.

The aim of the game is to furnish 4 rooms of an apartment: the living room, the bedroom, the study and the hall; starting from lights, plants, furniture and carpets, paintings and more; you can follow a certain style line or give vent to your imagination and create your own style.

PLAYABILITY

To furnish your restaurant you need to buy the various pieces of furniture with the coins you will earn in the various Mini-games, they are many and all different:

If you played the other home designer games then I am sure you will enjoy this one also. They put my two favorite things together, hidden objects and designing. I absolutely enjoy being able to choose the designs I like and being able to design a room the way I would like it. The game play is not too difficult and there are plenty of power-ups to help. This part actually has lots of fun mini games to change it up and not get boring. The main game is hidden objects to build up money to buy furniture (lots of options) to decorate different rooms. There are a lot of mini games of all kind and it really is a game to relax a bit after work.
