Milli & Greg

Milli & Greg

Lovely little platformer in the spirit of Celeste, Super Meat Boy and Kaizo Mario Romhacks, super charming and original.

Each level is a one screen precision platforming challenges to rescue the kitty (Save the Animals!). Beautiful artwork and the soundtrack is a banger.

The difficulty is a little all over the place. Hard levels are followed by easy ones and vice verse. But the game never became repetitive thanks to a wide variety of obstacles. I hope to see more!

Sure at first look it reminds you of Celeste, but don’t get fooled, it’s entirely its own thing. The level mechanics and physics makes it feel unique. I’m loving the art style and music, will definitely finish it!

EDIT

Just 100%ed the game. What an experience! The last episodes are a thrill. So satisfactory. If you’re a platformer fan do yourself a favor and play it!

DreamWorks Spirit Lucky’s Big Adventure

NOTE: This has functional keyboard and mouse support, contrary to what the store page claims. Aside from platforming sections being a bit janky the default layout works just fine.

This is pretty fun, but it is almost criminally short for the initial asking price. For such a massive world around the Miradero town site, there’s not a whole lot to do in it once you’ve finished the main quest. Once you complete the side quests, there is literally nothing to do in it apart from riding around on Spirit until he needs grooming.

This game is really good! Beautiful scenery, massive open world, tons of quests/errands to do for people, and, of course, an exciting story. I haven’t got through the whole story, it’s very exciting so far, though! The reason I posted this review this early, though, is because I know lots of people considering wishlisting this might not even consider it worth getting, because it says that the keyboard and mouse is not supported, but, IMPORTANT, that is incorrect information!! You CAN use it, for this game, don’t know why it says it’s not supported, in this game, very misleading….the controls in-game are just shown by what controller buttons to press, yeah, with no option in-game to look at what the keyboard key bindings are, but they are still there, nevertheless, and do work. Because I’m a PC player, more than any other console, I’m used to using a keyboard and mouse, and didn’t like the controller when I tried it out, so am now playing this game with the keyboard and mouse, and, after trying out all the keys on my keyboard, I discovered all the keyboard controls for this game, which do work:

I, W.O.M.A.N.

I, W.O.M.A.N.

I, W.O.M.A.N. is a Twin-Stick Arena Shooter with a Sci-Fi theme and story. With a quick-to-start design, you can start blasting robots within seconds of loading the game. Use a variety of futuristic weapons and power-ups to fight rampaging robots using your keyboard or game controller.

Start by customizing your Weaponized Operational Military Android Network (W.O.M.A.N.) character. Your task is ensuring the safety of the humans kept aboard the spacecraft in suspended animation. Unfortunately, a computer virus of unknown origin, for now known as The Malware, is taking over the ship’s service bots. As a W.O.M.A.N., you are independent of this ship’s internal network, and you operate autonomously, which allows you to fight off this intruding threat. Your only hope of saving the humans in stasis is to repel the rogue robots from that section of the ship, then work your way to the Bridge to reboot the Central Computer, which will theoretically purge The Malware.

Beautiful graphics, simple and efficient mechanics. However, the navigation within a chapter is more than cryptic; and it looks like it’s possible to have a sneak peek at some of the 15 chapters… I found that part totally confusing as the chapter is selected by simply hovering over it (it then has the little glitter around it). One slide in the carousel shows this. I completed the 6 story levels of the 1st chapter, and then moved on to the levels with coins and gems. Hint system seems adequate once you can use it. On the fence about this one… Price will be a factor, so will revisit once released.

Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae

Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae

It’s not too often than I walk down the street and decide that my life plagued by the lack of indie hack and slashes in my life, but whenever I am Steam is there to save the day with a hanky, a knife, and a picture of a waifu.

In Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, a very SEO friendly name, you play as a Mitsurugi out to Kamui Hikae. Probably just means Blade Templar Maiden, haven’t the foggiest.

Your stages are all various flavours of circle and your combat is aiming to hack and slash with the best of them. Why, you’ve got your launchers, your forward and neutral ground combos, your alt combo and your weird katana meter that dictates how much katana you can katana. That can be upgraded to 9 separate full magic bars.

It’s a fun game. Really fun in my opinion. It’s a stylish arena hack and slash game. If you’re a fan of stuff like anime, you’ll probably think the combat is awesome. You slash up enemies with your sword at hyper-fast speeds and as you sheathe your sword, they all fall down, instantly dead. It’s pretty cool.

The graphics aren’t anything mind-blowing, but it looks pretty good and gets the job done. Honestly, it could have been all stick figure people and the game would hold up just as well. The real strength of the game is in mastering the combat. The main character, Misa, and her nemesis, Suzuka, both look well animated. Many reviews/comments seem extremely focused on the fact that you get glimpses of panties, but the combat is so fast paced that I’ve never really noticed. The enemies all look kinda bland, besides the bosses. They are mostly just robot businessmen (I guess…) with a few different colored suits. I suppose the giant robot enemies look kinda cool, too.

Altruism

Altruism

Altruism is a fun, short, zen adventure game by former Runescape/Jagex composer Adam Bond. The soundtrack is nice, and its overall atmosphere of selflessness makes it pleasant. Its simplicity makes it a nice relaxing break, and I think the asking price is worth it for a chill afternoon or two.

Soaring Machinariae

Soaring Machinariae

I really wish steam had a neutral option.

TL;DR: For $10, not worth it. If you get it on sale, then why not? Despite the fantastic voice acting, solid gameplay, and incredible sound design, this game is ultimately a generic time waster. That’s not to say it’s bad, it has an incredible amount of polish with very few spelling or grammar issues, but polish doesn’t equate to an interesting or unique product. The characters are fun, but you’ve seen them a hundred times before. The gameplay is solid, but you’ve played better before. Every aspect of this game is done better by others, but if this is your first foray into RPG Maker, then it’s a pretty good starting place. In comparison to other RPG Maker games, this game is pretty dang good, and it at least stands out against them. The game only falls short when compared to games outside of the RPG Maker engine or when you’ve played a ton of RPG Maker games, but if you’re looking for a decently fun RPG Maker game and a way to waste some time, this is a decent pick.

Action JRPG + fully voiced + good controls = Zelda like gameplay with anime charm. Adventure as Iris the Machinariae and obtain skills. Great price! Normally this type of game is at least a $15-20.

I was just browsing the store for a cheap game and found this wonderful game. I had no idea what the game was like and immediately saw the art style which already settled the deal for me. I enjoyed the overall gameplay the most however. It was your standard RPG game except for the fact where you get to pick your main character and 3 others to follow which will later on impact your game. I also enjoyed the aspects of the rivalry system the game had to offer and

! the different ending that you can achieve in the game . The game had several unique aspects to it that really made me happy when i bought this game. I plan on playing this game more and grinding up those achievements! This game really is a game that will stick with me for a long time.
