Life is Strange: True Colors
《前言》
《Life is strange-True Colors(奇妙人生:本色)》是《Life is strange(下簡稱LiS)》的最新作,官方定調為系列主線第三部作品: 真.LiS 3。不過True Colors並非由LiS1和LiS2的開發商Dontnod Entertainment所開發,而是由主導LiS1前傳:Before the storm 的Deck Nine所製作(LiS1及LiS: Before the storm的Remastered版也是由其所製作)。

I played the original LiS when it was first released, it was one of my favorite games. Since then, I’ve played them all. Lis 2, Before the Storm, Captain Spirit, etc. I absolutely loved this game. It takes about 12 hours to beat so, the one downside that comes to mind is if 12 hours of gameplay is worth 60 dollars.
However, that’s my only bad remark for the game. To me, this felt like the best spiritual successor to LiS 1. I loved the characters, conversations felt very organic, the town was beautiful. Alex is a fantastic main character and I felt that the two love interests were way more balanced than LiS 1.

Dance of Death: Du Lac & Fey
First of all, it’s fair to say that I bought and started the game a few weeks after main launch, so all the critical patches and fixes were already implemented. Played it through twice and encountered no bugs or glitches both times, except for one where the game crashes right before rolling credits, apparently only happening on W7 64 bit… Eh, nothing game-breaking. Later updates also added more interactive points and SEVERAL additional achievements, so I would say by now it’s pretty polished.

I now arrived at about the middle of the game and I will certainly recommend it, but…
It is a game which enchants you by its really interesting and unusual setting and a great art style. I can think of no other game (point and click adventure - like ) where you play such a stylish hero or rather pair of heroes. The dynamics between the human character and his animal compagnion is original and fun. The dog Fey talks to animals and uses her nose while du Lac interacts with humans and you can change between them almost any time, this is cool. Although -at least until now- this dynmaics is not living up to its potential.

I enjoyed this game and got a number of hours out of it between multiple ending playthroughs (free flow and some with a guide to finish a few missed options). My one caveat is that you should snag this game on sale or as part of a bundle, as I’m not sure most people will find it justifies its full price.
First, you should know that this game is a lot of reading relative to the interaction time. As the game warns you about in the beginning, this is more like a book where you can make some choices to change the ending, rather than a typical point-n-click story where you are making choices constantly. Luckily, it has a very nice “fast forward” option for skipping dialogue you’ve already seen on playthroughs, which is something that is lacking in many similar games and is amazingly wonderful if you’re hunting down other endings.

Pinewood Island
Hello Steam user who is wondering if this little visual novel is worth their time. I’m going to tell you right now that the short answer is yes, especially if you’re a fan of the mystery genre.
Pros
– The story and mystery. Okay so if you taken a look at the plot synopsis you can pretty much see the standard murder mystery scenario. Group of people in an isolated location, somebody gets murdered and things go to hell when people start playing the blame game. Pretty standard set up but thankfully it’s executed well. It actually took me at least three different play throughs to figure out the murderer was which thankfully means the mystery itself is not to easy but it also means that it’s not too hard to figure it out either. The story itself is a little clunky at times by and have a good flow once it gets going and it’s pretty fun to play through even though you have to do about four times to get all the endings (I’ll complain about it later though so…).

Picked this game up after it had been on my wishlist for a while and I checked the store page to see it had no reviews yet. Decided I had to give it a go myself and leave a review so there was something here for people to go off of.
If you want a synopsis, you can read the descriptor, it’s not a super complex or original idea. It plays out fine enough though, I found it pretty enjoyable from the run and a half I’ve done so far. It doesn’t seem like choices are super duper important aside from boys and knowing what’s going on, but they impacted a few things aside from stright up bad ending, or continuing on the plot so far.

Gameplay and Interaction (16 out of 20)
So, as far as the gameplay is concerned this game is the interactivity festival in a good way. Since Beyond: Two Souls is mainly focused around the actual delivery of the story, it is expected for the number of interactive elements to be higher than what you’d usually see. One thing that might surprise a few people is that everything you interact with has a purpose, and there’s no single object that you interact with being there just to fill the space up. Unlike other similar story-based games, there are no interactive components that are wasting your time for the sake of prolonging the playtime - everything is pretty much associated with the story itself. The only thing on the interactive side which doesn’t make sense is that the game is (in certain sequences) almost unplayable without a controller. Considering that this game was a console release at first, without any plans for a PC release does help me look past some of the decisions that were made for the PC release. The only frustrating thing is that the developers did not even try to alter the originally designed mechanics and make them at least a little bit easier to cope with on the PC. Let’s be honest, the PC is the platform where most of the players do not own a controller, to begin with.

I burned the house because she said rock music sucks
I am Quantic Dream fan since Fahrenheit, after I played it I fell in love with narrative games and couldn’t wait for more similar games. Heavy Rain came out after some time and again I enjoyed it very much but it had flaws. And then Beyond Two Souls have been released. Wow I loved everything about this game, it’s hard to find to say anything bad about it.
Beyond Two Souls tells a story of Jodie and her entity Aiden. Don’t expect realism here, it’s kinda similar to Life is Strange 2 in some way or Fahrenheit. A girl with supernatural power. Aiden is always with her, he doesn’t leave her, he protects her and even lets her see souls and past events. In her childhood Jodie was taken by the scientists to do tests and experiments and her life has been a real roller coaster. No need to talk about the story much because of spoilers on every step so you need to experience it yourself.

It has taken me years (and several restarts) to finally finish this game and I have no words to describe how much I love it. It was a beautiful story, wrapped up in heart-wrenching choices and gorgeous cinematography. Every episode is engaging and intense. I sobbed my through the final episode and I am very much looking forward to the other games in the series. This game will hold a special place in my heart and I love my best friend for making me buy it 3

Gameplay and Movement Controls (17 out of 20)
Everyone pretty sure expected the classic gameplay from the first game. ‘Before the Storm’ is based on the Unity Engine. Deck Nine had to re-do the gameplay aspect for this game. I must admit that I was very used gameplay feeling from the start, not that it’s that much different but still it is. Overal mouse control is pretty weird I have to admit. It feels like the mouse is working flawlessly sometimes and sometimes it just doesn’t register the movement right away. Which is later followed by half a second delay to anything you do with your mouse in terms of camera movement. I’m pretty sure it has to do with the engine itself or the developer set it that way on purpose, but since almost all games that are based on the Unity engine have had the same input delay issue of some sort for me in the past, I doubt it. It is not a game-breaking thing, but sometimes it can just be frustrating while moving the camera around.

Before the Storm is the prequel to the award-winning and highly claimed Life is Strange , one of the best Point & Clicks ever made. Is this complementary release as fulfilling and ground-breaker as the original? For fans, absolutely!
I find it hard to believe someone would be picking up Life is Strange: Before the Storm without first going through the original game. With that said, Before the Storm pretty much follows the steps of Chloe’s friendship with Rachel and their mischievous adventures.
