Rating: 9/10
Really interesting game with captivating story.
Even though combat is a little simple, fighting giant Vikings did not get old. Puzzles were decent.
Where the game really shines is the story and superb acting of the main character.
Even the sidelore spread out through the game was a joy listening to.
Game feels rather short (10-ish hours) but that’s just me wanting more.
Worth it, even at full price (20Eur). Now it is 75% off and that is a really good deal.

Aspire: Ina’s Tale
Ina was trapped, placed in perpetual slumber inside the Tower – where she dreamed. Suddenly and unknowingly, she is woken. Ina must now explore the Tower’s inner chambers in search of a way out and a reason for her imprisonment.
Along the way, she’ll traverse marvelous scenery, meet enigmatic characters, solve intuitive puzzles, and conquer platforming sequences as she comes closer to her goal - but farther from innocence.
For this isn’t a story about how Ina was saved. This is the story about how she discovered she could be so much more.
EXPLORE A LIVING TOWER
Get lost in a mystical side-scrolling adventure through beautiful sprawling levels, each with their own distinct feel. Every region presents its own peculiarities to unravel.
ENGAGING STORY
Ina’s dreams shape reality while the Tower feeds. Hopes and imagination satiate its hunger. How are the two connected?
MEET THE TOWER DWELLERS
Learn about the other denizens of the Tower as you search for the truth. Uncover their pasts, their memories, and set them free.
CONTROL SPIRITS
Ina was trapped for a reason, and her powers resonate with the spirits that inhabit the Tower. Use them to manipulate objects, solve puzzles, reveal hidden passages, and navigate the environment to find your way out.
Fallow
i’m not one to usually review games, and i’ve been putting reviewing this one off for a while now, but: fallow touched me deeply; it made me feel exceedingly personal feelings that games don’t often make you feel - and i think that you should play it as soon as you get the chance. it’s one of those games that you aren’t going to forget if you’ve gone through similar experiences to the ones presented at all, and the almost 8 years of work put into it really shows. small details, extra content that’s practically longer than the game itself, impossible-to-find dev commentary; a soundtrack that i cannot stop listening to on repeat- i bought the physical edition and am ecstatic about it coming in, if only for the bonus tracks on the cassette alone.

Took a few days to chew on this after finishing it because it’s hard to write a review of a game that affected you so deeply. I’ll start by mentioning that I’ve followed Rook for a few years now so I knew I’d enjoy this game, but I was unprepared for how deeply it impacted me.
In just a few short hours, Fallow managed to touch on a great many of my own feelings and insecurities about things that I often cannot talk about, not out of fear but because there simply aren’t words to describe them. It did this in a way that felt totally genuine. Fallow touched me in a way I would say is underneath words.

The Wild Eternal
There I am, bored on a Friday night, browsing through my product queue on a whim. Suddenly, I stumble across The Wild Eternal, a game that seems to be exactly up my alley - it appears to be all about exploring an interesting world, and it instantly catches my eye. One impulse buy and half an hour or so of extremely-slow-internet download time later, and I’m ready to start the game. I make myself a cup of tea, grab a quick snack, and get ready to dive in.
The tea remained practically untouched for the rest of the night.

I’ve played this for 28.9 hours now. The world isn’t high-res and realistic, but it has a medium-resolution iconic feel to it that I quite like. It’s not trying to be cool. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who’s competitive and feels compelled to find the fastest way. The pace is relaxing, tranquil; it doesn’t try to make you do anything, it lets you be as systematic or laid back as you want. The terrain has lots of variation and the plants, buildings, mountains are beautiful in a simple way. It’s ideal for someone who appreciates slow, meditative journeying and doesn’t mind getting lost in lots of misty, winding paths. The world is a lot bigger than it looks at first. The music is appropriately atmospheric and low key. The stories of all the characters, be they humans or gods, contain a lot of tragedy. Though I’d guess you’d expect that when the protagonist’s main goal is to die forever, not be reincarnated. But this story happens after all the tragedy, it’s about what you do afterwards. So the story is not depressing, just filled with questions. But the story, unlike some other games, does not force you to pay attention to it. Nothing speaks unless asked, and the escape key will end any answer you feel is too long. When I started playing it, I was a little disappointed: It seemed the world was a little small, the goals were a little simple. But that feeling has gone now. It turns out the physical world is much larger and the simplicity was the simplicity of the profound. So I ended up loving this game. Walk its misty trails long enough and you’ll find its wonderful heart. (Two tips: It’s okay to throw fruit at the critters (they like it), but don’t try to talk to the tiger like you do the fox.)

Anodyne 2: Return to Dust

Plot:
The plot to Anodyne 2 is fantastic. It is extremely well-paced and very well written, with twists and turns throughout that make you question what is right and what is wrong, all the while keeping you gripped from start to finish.

After finishing the game and collecting all the achievements, I can say that this was well worth my time and money. However, I will say that this may not be for everyone. I will include more in depth information about the game below as well as a tldr afterwards. I will try to avoid spoiler information as best as I can unless it is needed for an example.
Story
Anodyne 2’s tells its story in an interesting way. The basic plot is explained to you fairly clearly, but it takes listening to NPC dialogue and some item descriptions in order to get a better understanding of all the facets of the story and world. The game also makes use of abstract concepts and wording in order to create a surreal world with strange and interesting characters. I won’t go into too much detail here because a good portion of this will be spoilers. But before I go into spoilers, I want to note that it did feel like I was blazing through the story, and some events felt like they happened sooner than they should have. You can take this as the game only staying for as long as it needs to, but I felt like there could have been more story beats without becoming like filler. There was also one part of the story that felt like filler, but I’ll get into that in the spoiler section. I want to stress however that I still really enjoyed the story and characters.
