Review

+ Merits:

If you are in a hurry and want to play a video game expeditiously, then I recommend Vanquish. It’s a relentless, fast-paced game that will fill-up your adrenaline to the maximum level with its intensive gameplay. Combine Bayonetta with Gears of War, and you will have something that resembles Vanquish, a fast-moving, cover-based shooter with some QTEs. From the third-person perspective, you control Sam Gideon, a guy augmented with a cool battle suit that’s powered by a portable reactor. It gives him post-human capabilities and grants us a stupendous warfare experience with its boosted slide and slow-motion mechanism.

At first blush, Vanquish is another third person cover-based shooter. But if you’re familiar with those deranged perverts over at Platinum Games, you should be instantly suspicious. This is a studio who is concerned primarily with making new IPs with new gameplay paradigms, and Vanquish is no exception.

Many reviewers have already discussed the general premise of the game, so I will spare you those details except to remind you that Vanquish is about Big Boss fighting robots in space using a rocket-powered mecha suit; he shoots, he slides on the floor like an idiot, he slows down time. Instead, I want to address the core philosophy behind this game (as I see it) and explain why I find it fun.

GunZ 2: The Second Duel

I Hope someone will buy this super game, cause 2 companies havent done anything to commercialize it, its a unique game where only personal skillz matter, no sort of random luck for newbs, this game got a lot of hidden techniques that help Experienced players to play more fluid (and this is the best game for fluidity), you can jump on walls, you can shot/noscope when rising a wall, you can flip enemy in air and than, in a super reflex move, shot them, this game its a perfect Esport game, cause you need a super concentration for sniping in movement, you need mouse MuscolarMemory so you can use your third eye to shot… its a First person shooter game but the point perfectly in the middle of the screen allow you to think in first person (i hate shoulder view), you can change from sword to gun in time 0 allowing you to fast think when you need to get back and shot and stop ‘meleegangbang’ its the best game for keep the mind always ON cause you want to do better in every game and a newb will be impressionated watching pro players playn, so they get curious to know new techniques (that youtube teaches)…. im really sad of no updates in this game, im a bit angry because i have used some money on it.. its just because i want to grow my equip for the future, because i know that this game will be eternal for his unique freemind movement system, you can really feel like your hand made a fusion with mouse, you fast think, it aim and shot….. I loved Quest Mode of Gunz 1 because you need to be really pro for make some of them and PRO dont mean GoodWeapon (biggerD**ck mentality of every game) PRO mean you need to block fast and shot faster…. its the only game in 2k years that allow you do things faster that you can think, this is THE game for a lot of players and if can i will buy this game with friends for make it bigger, make it complete, new weapons, new maps, parkour missions, berzerk mode. this is super better that the scripted S4L

short answer:dead game,garbage design,Pay-to-win, stay away.

long answer: Where do i even begin?

This game managed to anger everyone off, the old gunz 1 veterans, the newbies and the whales.

lets start with angering the veterans.

game has some stupid mechanics like nemesis system which is similar to the nemesis from tf2, but instead imagine if the revenge target had “wallhacks” and “100% critical hits” just because you’re his nemesis…

and this isnt only on casual, this is an actual mechanic of the game on every mode including ranked, and team deathmatch which makes no sense.

Great mecha game with some nice customization. I was a tester for a long time with this. it is being made by only one Dev and the Bugs like the MP bug is being worked on now. You must remember this is a Early Access game it will have bugs but I can assure you all the Dev is on top of it. with that being said I do recommend this. It will only get better with time.

I will edit this review as updates roll out.

EDIT- To the people having the MP bug you must send your log to the Dev so he can Fix it!

Before I begin my review, I want to put in a pre-review note for those of you looking at the game or the mecha genre for the first time:

While I will say the game isn’t what people are expecting yet, the single dev working on this is working their ass off to get things going as fast as they can. There is a lot of promise in this game that I haven’t seen since the Gundam MMO franchises died out in North America. I’m part of the mecha genre gaming community that have been looking for the revival of the genre the way it was back when Armored Core, Exsteel, and Gundam used to stand tall as our champions in North America. I know Ayphverus can do it and his community are going to pour their hearts into helping him speed things along.

This review is being written as of the first wave of Early Access content. I’ve finished the first twelve missions, all the challenges currently available, beat wave 10 survival (and had the #9 high score for a while, #12 as of writing this), and I’ve got my mech parts pretty much maxed for the time being, so I think it’s time I weigh in and leave my thoughts.

Firstly, let me start with what I love about this game:

-The action is superb. It’s high-paced, flows well, finishers don’t seem to interrupt the game much (and they’re skippable if that’s still too much for you), combat is fast and frantic yet never feels out of your control, and yet at the same time it plays fairly uniquely.

WTF almost comes at a hard recommendation for me. On the one hand, I got at least 20+ hours worth of content out of it and enjoyed most of it. On the other hand, the ending levels ramp up so much in difficulty that it makes no sense and furthermore, the only way to upgrade my gear would be to grind a bunch previous missons to get small stat bonuses and pitiful amounts of money. I’m using some of the end game mech configurations, but there are some other parts that could make the later levels a bit easier. Unfortunately, I’ve burnt all my money on the gear and upgrades I have now, so it would take potentially hours to grind up the resources needed to stand a chance in the later levels without dying in seconds. This immediately halted my ability to finish the game and the whole time I was wondering if the dev’s even playtested the end game missions.

THe reason why I say no is because when I had it, nobody played. The weapons seemed cool but after a while got boring. I really feel like it shouldnt cost this much. 2.99 would be better, then i would recommend it.

The Mean Greens - Plastic Warfare

How do you breathe life into a few years old game that has no real existing player base? Well, if our game is an online shooter, follow the path of Virtual Basement and Code Headquarters, drop the price to a buck for at least a short time, announce it with enthusiasm, and then be there to support your game despite it being several years old with the knowledge that, by doing so, you are basically giving a lot of new players a fun and inexpensive experience that they might otherwise never have known about, which in turn gives your game a whole new lease on life.

30 mins in & this game is incredible & absolutely worth the 99 cent purchase.

You’d be dumb otherwise. You can flawlessly create servers & have people join,

amazing UE4 graphics that run 100-144fps most of the time, max settings,

FX-8350, 8GB DDR3 & 6GB OC GTX 1060.

I wanted to buy it a couple yrs ago, but of course, nobody wanted to play it.

It really sucks when the PC community is so attached to games like CS:GO & PUBG 24/7 (being a long time player of both) which are extremely greedy and not willing to listen to the community, but rather throw in 1,000 microtransactions.

Caster

Caster

Caster is a third person platformer shooter with slight RPG elements. Basically, this is a mission based game. You select levels and get missions upon entering them. Missions are generally things like, collect all the orbs or kill all the enemies. Although there are more complicated missions, especially later. As you go through the first set of levels, you’ll learn the basics, get new weapons, and collect in=game currency. You use the in-game currency to buy upgrades between levels, such as boosting your natural abilities and powering up the weapons you have collected. You can walk around, jump, and shoot for basic controls. However, you can also hit jump again and hold the button to do a super jump, which can help for dodging enemies and clearing distances and obstacles. The other special ability is a dash, which allows you to run quickly. This can help run up slopes and across water. Combining these two special abilities can make for some great techniques. There’s also an interesting mechanic of being able to destroy and build up the land with your weapons. This can make tough situations easier depending on what you choose to upgrade and when. There are three sets of levels. The first set are there to help you learn the basics. The second set will make you use your abilities in more interesting ways. The third set will challenge your skills. It’s a simple design that has lots of potential. The art is very colorful and pretty, even if I had to run it in minimum settings for my old worn out computer. It still looks really nice, and the music is alright too. It also has a low level of story investment.

READ NOW

The thing is:

This game hasn’t actually been abandoned as some people say it has, the creator (Elecorn) has been working on and off on a massive update for a while now and he’s probably going to comeback with a big bang on this game at some point, thats why its starting to get a bunch of PROMOTION SALES in the past 18 months or so. Anyway, My review:

I’ll start with the bad things about this game:

  • When i first played through the game, it left me a bit downhearted because i enjoyed it, but then this message pops up saying it hasn’t been finished yet and to check a website for updates, WTF (this was at that moment anyway) i mean this game was released quite a while ago (Release: 2009) and it hasnt been finished past two chapters? (Disapointment filled my heart)

Freefall Tournament

Freefall Tournament

Id say the game is dying but it has been very surprising that like 2/3rds of the servers are active the majority of the time, since i played this back in middleschool on Kongregate.com. Yeah its a Unity flash game essentially but still fun as crap to me, very nice to boot up real quickly and play a few games then jump off. One of the main features is that everyone has an auto-aim with holding right-mouse click, yeah sounds weird and it is but i cant aim for shit lol, and it puts more emphasis on timing of skills which i really like. Ive never played Tribes but in that game you can ski around real quickly, you can do that here too so it can lead to some really past paced and aerial battles. You can try it out for free on their website, just search like play freefall tournament or something, it is more laggy there so be warned.

This game is a F2P browser game (still is) which has been converted from Unity to WebGL due to a certain plugin being unsupported anymore. The reasoning behined the payment for this steam version is the increase in performance than what you would have in a browser. Plus it keeps the servers up.

The game is extremely fun to play once you master the games gravity mechanic as well as your average classes that can be compared to TF2 and other types of games. Ever wanted to be a medic and engineer at once? Pyro with wall hacks? Weild the power of Heavy’s chaingun and Soldier’s rocketlauncher? Then look no further.

Sherwood Extreme

Sherwood Extreme

Sherwood Extreme is a gem in a sea of countless games. I have had the pleasure of being in the closed beta as a QA tester. Sherwood Extreme has a simple yet complex variety of game-play mechanics. The average player will always have fun and the dedicated will always be coming back for more. This game has great potential as it grows in Early Access. In the future, I believe the speed running community will enjoy this game. The developers at CageStudios are people who are passionate about their game. They listen to community feedback and want to make a great game. The developers have built an awesome community on their discord.

even though i have 10 hours in this game i can’t recommend this to people which hurts because i loved the time i spent with it. you play as Walmart robin hood in parkour levels killing enemies with various bows you can get through in game currency. you also have a shield but you’ll probably never use that. let me get the pros outta the way first. 1. the game play loop is fun for awhile till you realize the lack of variety and patterns. 2. there’s a decent amount of cosmetics you can get in game for free. 3. you can make chickens explode. now for the cons. 1. the lack of pretty much anything. 2. while i said the game play loop is fun it’s also incredibly repetitive, dull, and slow even though i think the intentions are for it to be fast. 3. the bugs many times my bow wouldn’t shoot this seemed to only happen in certain area but still was annoying. another bug i noticed was the game crashed a fair bit and if i clicked something to fast that would somehow crash the game as well. 4. the rpg system… man at first i loved it but after awhile it felt like a forced attempt to get people to play longer. what i mean by this is the rpg system really don’t help since in order to “level up” and get skill points you need to grind levels A lot and your reward is so small that it won’t matter till way later. on this same topic leveling up weapons was a slow and honestly boring grind since you can just grind the first level over and over(if you go there with a mission for it it’s even faster). 5. the missions. while they seem cool and fun at first they’re actually pretty dumb. they claim to add tons of variety to each level/mission they don’t. they only change a few minor things. for example traps that are easy to avoid, “different” enemies, etc. i can name more but the point is this game if just a slow, boring grind for nothing of value. oh they also have co-op but since almost nobody even plays it’s pointless. i know i said i don’t recommend this game but if you want something that’s fun-ish and relaxing for a bit give it a try.
