502’s Arcade

502’s Arcade

502’s Arcade is an anthology of fast paced arcade games where your goal is to reach the top of the leaderboards in each one. The games go from a dungeon crawler set in a procedural generated temple where you have to seal spirits, to a cute but challenging puzzle where you have to prepare the orders of a very hectic potions shop. Come and get that good old feeling of competition you got when going to the arcade, or just have fun and challenge yourself by trying to get all the achievements for each game.

  • TIMELESS ACTION - The games are designed to be engaging right from the start, it’s up to you if you want to play for just a few minutes or maybe a few hours!

  • HIGH REPLAYABILITY - Master all of the games at your own pace, some will be easier, some will be harder, but practice will take you far. You’ll also get plenty of achievements to challenge yourself while at it!

  • PAST MEETS PRESENT - Bringing you back to that feeling of being just a few points away of the top score, but now with Daily, Weekly and All time leaderboards, you have a reason to keep coming back to try to best others and yourself.

  • AWESOME SOUNDTRACK - Whether you’re fighting frantically with some aliens or comfortably solving some puzzles, each game has the perfect music for it.

the last achievement - beat Arcade mode on Very Hard difficulty is very tough and if you are not fond of boss-rush genre, then you will get a hard time. you basically need to beat all levels and all bosses on a single health bar, no medkits or continue (on very hard difficulty, mind you). all achievements are straightforward, non-broken and fair

First of all it’s not tiny in terms of gameplay time. I personally put in more than 25 hours into it. But it’s not for a single playthrough. I have to mention though that there are only 7 levels broken up into smaller sections. I played some levels many times. But more on that later. Let’s start with what this game is about.

This is a fast-paced 2D side scroller with a lot of weapons, awesome game mechanics, variety of enemies and it requires some skill to complete it. There are numerous achievements to unlock some of which require hard training. Others are surprisingly simple but require you to read the description of the achievement to get the idea of how to unlock it. As for the graphics there’s not much to say but it’s nice and pretty in its own way and the art style is consistent and corresponds to game’s theme.

Kaze and the Wild Masks

Kaze and the Wild Masks

Although not quite innovative per se, it does manage to excel at doing things.

To start things off, the game just “feels” great from the get go. The controls feel great (although the devs do need to fix the input for Jumping Stomp Attack, it caused me many frustrating deaths)(What do you know? The devs already fixed Air Smash input just one day after my review!), the visuals are great, and the audio is great.

I love how the levels were designed, it feels like every level has its own “gimmick” and with the Wild Masks, they never feel boring. I also love the devs' decision to remove Lives.

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.

Friends of classic platformers have reason to rejoice - this is a top representative of the genre. An ancient curse turns the peaceful vegetables of Carrotland into deadly monsters. You play Kaze, a young rabbit lady who must save her friend Hugo. Hugo has been sucked in by a collar while exploring an ancient temple together with Kaze. Grave robbers live dangerously, Indiana Jones or Lara Croft already had to learn that! And background stories in action games are almost always stupid, so what the hell.

Re.Surs

Cool game kind.

pros:

  • great visual style. Very atmospheric and stylish levels.

  • action battles as you need to use hero abilities in time.

  • different weapons with which you can kill demons.

  • different bosses, not very difficult though, it’s okay.

  • intricate strange plot.

  • good jokes)

  • good price.

  • I liked the crazy dancing letters)))

cons:

  • some bosses and fights pissed me off.

  • some basics 2d scroller shooterics are not presented, but mechan yeah it’s experimental.

Quite a cool game, of course not without drawbacks.

cool stuff:

1. Lots of action, especially in the end. Almost Serious Sam sometimes, but you always have proper gun to destroy demons.

2. Some bosses remind old good game console games.

3. Surprisingly lots of stuff for indie game - several main characters, lots of guns, lots of demons

4. Complex and interesting plot, but sometimes there is a feeling like watching Dune without reading book - very interesting, but understood nothing.

5. One of plot twist in the middle reminded me half life, that was quite cool.

EDIT: 2/26/19 Record name change.

EDIT; 9/11/18 The issues I describe below of needing to acclimate in order to avoid hitting objects has substantially been dealt with admirably in several ways, in more than one update. MUCH more intuitive now. Thank you!

Full Disclosure: I LOVE TO FLY!!! (As a gamer, I mean.)

As such, I have a substantial number of Steam-based games that allow me to indulge this joyous affliction, the most recent being the wonderfully designed and remarkably addictive and entertaining Risky Wings (previously UBERFLIGHT.) Admittedly, flying games basically do one thing, and the measures of such games are:

Type Up

Type Up

so i have play this Type Up game and i think my typing skills improved, i would very recommend buying this game if you want typing challenge and like growth at the same time than this is the game for you. The Dav did a good work on Type Up but there is only few things that need to be add to the game like spending more points because almost have 27 points and i max out everything so is kind of pointless playing the game besides typing that really it, can’t wait to see the next update if there is a update to the game.

Written for 1561’s Thoughts - Honest reviews, for busy people.

Type Up is a simple typing game where your score increases the size of your character. The UI is rather low quality, and the game loses all of your settings whenever you finish a round. 4/10

UBERMOSH:SANTICIDE

UBERMOSH:SANTICIDE

The short version: This is fun for the price, but you are getting what you pay for at $1 or less. Don’t expect much more than that.

Note: There’s currently 8 games in the Ubermosh series and since they all share enough in common with each other, I’m writing one review for the series and then copy & pasting it to all of them.

What it is:

A pixel art combat arena with rogue-like arcade design and a focus on a simple combat gimmick that is easy to learn but difficult to master. Each replay is expected to be just a few minutes long, die and repeat. Taken for what it is, this is a few fast paced minutes of fun that you can pick up and play as a break.

I would name Ubermosh:Santicide best and most difficult title in the series since the perfect Ubermosh 1. Both “Santicide” difficulty level, that is intended for hard-boiled Ubermosh fans, and different weapon options make game more interesting.

But the most fun is produced by default “Single - Double - Triple” option, which gives you ability to evolve from shy and vulnerable coward in first part of game to semi-invincible death-spitting volcano in last 15 or 10 seconds. Also it was fun to complete Gunner class using this option, just to see what Triple-Shot Gunner does.

KUR

KUR

*updated after completion

This game does a lot right but does suffer from some minor bugs and glitches. Please keep in mind that at the time of my review, the game has been out for about 2 days and the game is in early access. I’m sure most of the bugs and glitches I mention here will be fixed down the road.

The pros in no order -

  • The music is really damn good.

  • The level design (or at least the levels I have played so far) are really well done, varied, and well thought out. So many nook and crannies to dig through and really pushes you to try your best to find the secrets. Pro tip - the secrets are worth looking for, except one.

Just beat this game, and I gotta say, this was one unique and fun experience. The game is a little clunky here and there but theres really not all that much jank. The developers are still patching and updating it.

The gunplay and movement is where this game shines and excels. You got your basic arsenal of weapons for a FPS but the developers really went above and beyond making each weapon have its own Kur twist. I think the voiceacting was great. The story, I kinda get. The ending came suddenly, and that was kinda surprising in a bad way.

A serious subject displayed with minimalist elegance and rhetorical gameplay. Video games are also great at that: to convey important, personal and yet universal experiences.

Don’t let my game time fool you, the game is finished in 16 minutes.

I am not fond of platformers in “normal” times. But Otterways made an amazing game that conveys a message all of humanity (men and women) should all learn.

If you can save buying a coffee on your week, you can buy the game, and possibly a few keys to share with whoever you want!
