This game is super fun. Buy it. You will not be disappointed.

INTRO

I heard about this game from the Indie James YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YdTpHlyw1s

I was immediately hooked to the music and art style, and came over to Steam and bought the game. For ten bucks, this game is an absolute STEAL.

GAMEPLAY

Everything feels smooth and alliterative; many separate systems work together extremely well and the game has been play-tested into oblivion from what I can tell. Whenever something happens that causes you to die, you feel like it’s your fault, and not the game’s fault. I can’t stress enough how important that is in a game that plays like this, and for gameplay that goes as fast as this.

Hectic and great arcade bullet hell fun with stunning graphics (with an own touch). On top of that we are also being served an excellent, pumping, synth-wave soundtrack (a couple of tracks with that distorted, heavy metal, electric guitar that we all love as well) that just reeks of what we want to remember the 80’s were like.

I have no complaints what so ever. I could understand some people wanting a longer campaign mode (yes, it was quite short and I wouldn’t mind more) but I kind of see that whole part of the game as a tutorial or “getting to know the game”. It’s in the arcade style modes that the game really shines. Trying to climb the global leader boards. Trying the characters that all feel and play differently from each other. On top of that, you are also given a good upgrade system, great controls and sound effects that do their job. What I initially thought would be a quick little fun ended up being quite addictive.

Post Void

You run fast, shoot baddies in the face, get an adrenaline rush from the music, and don’t know what emotion to feel or if the emotion needed to fully enjoy this experience even exists. Just like me when McDonald’s won’t let me bathe my naked body in the sods dispenser.

Well, finally completed the game so i assume that makes me creditable for a review.

This game is amazing. Absolutely Amazing. When you first play it, you have no idea where to go and the bright colors distort your eyes. As you play, you get more used to the game and layout, speeding through levels that you struggled with at the beginning. Going through the levels themselves is a huge adrenaline rush due to how fun and fast paced this game is. Would most definitely recommend it to any other adrenaline junkies like me. 10/10 Indie GOTY for me.

Good game.

Achievements are hard but you can earn it.

And you can get trading cards.

The game is not completed yet.The items are not discribed and the level system is kind of wild. When you level up,you can roll a slot machine one time. There are nothing to strengthen your character after your death unless you have a chance to unclock some new weapons or skills.

P.S: A lot of useless weapons and skills.

Auto-pickup is terrible.

After I get all the achievements(it takes some time and patient),finally I found it is somehow like the Alien Shooter.Play this game, and it will improve your shooting skills.

I See Red

I See Red

A frantic Twin Stick Shooter that embraces destruction

I See Red is a frantic experience where you can wreak havoc and bring entire ships to crumble. Everything that you can interact with, you can destroy. Every cover and detail can explode into pieces. Use this to your advantage to expose your enemies. You can also brutally execute your foes with your own hands.

A never ending roguelite journey

Fight your way through the entire galaxy, invading spaceships from Human, Robot or Aliens races, each with their own weaponry, augments and more. By completing challenges, every time you begin a new playthrough, you will be able to experience new unexplored paths, more powerful skills, never before seen fearless enemies, the most incredible abilities and more. Make your runs more diverse every time you start anew and find new ways of achieving your vengeance!

A story of vengeance, violence and pain

You are an outlaw, crawling about the infinite black space, in search of the person that did something horrible to you. In fact, you are so focused on your quest that you started to not care about your surroundings that are alien to your goal, making them look muted, but what you do care the most it would always be in RED.

Now, corrupted on the inside, you’re tormented to find out what happened to you to be this way.

Key Features

  • A vision that highlights in RED what’s important to you and muting what’s not.

  • Your multipurpose arm, a Grappling Hook, that can latch onto the environment to bring objects at a distance, and even to your enemies to brutally murder them!

  • Everything is destructible: break down a column to uncover an enemy, grab a weapon, empty it, and throw it at their face, and then do it all over again until the entire room is broken into pieces!

  • Become stronger with each run by finding components that upgrade you in every way.

  • UNLEASH YOUR RAGE! Every time you damage (or get damaged), your rage increases, until you can release it and mutilate every enemy in your path instantly!

  • Unlock skills, passives, weapons, consumables, enemies to fight, and even ships to invade to make each playthrough unique.

  • A dynamic music system that adapts to the current mood of the fight.

MOTHERGUNSHIP

MOTHERGUNSHIP

This game is a masterpiece of difficulty that punishes the slow, the weak, and the stupid. I say this not out of malice or contempt for the player, but from a position of experience. I have been that slow, weak, and stupid player at one time. I’ve been totally thrashed and left wondering what had happened…and I personally wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve lost legendary items and I had no one to blame but myself when I did. Yes, I was sick to my stomach, but my own failings were to blame. I surpassed them, recovered, and ascended.

In A Nutshell

Mothergunship is an exaggerate fast-paced FPS with a futuristic setting, in which aliens invaded Earth and wiped the majority of the population. You, as a member of The Resistance, will need to board and destroy alien ships in order to locate their command center, the Mothergunship, and destroy it.

This game is mainly about two things: facing dozens of enemies in fast-paced, old-school style FPS combat, and building absolutely insane guns from a very original, intuitive and well made crafting system. Your command center will be your ship, in which you will find various facilities to upgrade your character, once you get enough XP to level up, a shop to buy guns and parts to use in future missions using the money you accumulated previously, a test range to build weapons freely and test the best builds, and lastly, the mission panel, where you will be able to select the next mission, either main, secondary, or endless mode (once unlocked).

For Sparta

For Sparta

PROS:

  • A decent variety of enemies. There are about 3-4 different skins for each monster, but they each have varying attacks and behaviours to keep things interesting.

  • A large selection of craftable perks to potentially obtain.

  • The controls handle well. Dodging and attacking feels responsive and enjoyable.

  • Action-packed generally speaking. Enemies spawn in waves throughout a day, but if you take too long, the next wave will spawn in to keep you on your toes.

  • Satisfying and appropriate sound effects.

Great little arcade game. It’s difficult and has a lot of random elements that can make it anywhere from challenging to near impossible, but with games being so fast/short and the ability to restart in a couple of seconds it’s not normally frustrating.

If you like old school keyboard bashing this is for you.

Roguebreaker

Roguebreaker

It has been a pleasure working with Josh Bergasse to playtest Roguebreaker and watch it develop from the earlier builds. The game has come a long way, and I honestly believe that Josh has created a product worthy of your time and attention.

Roguebreaker is a passion project that Josh wanted to see come to fruition long before coding even began. The concept of an 80s themed arcade game with modern conveniences and features (level editor, workshop support, incredible powerups, etc.) was one that he knew would be a perfect blend, and he was right.

This review was not sponsored by, or paid for by, any entity or being in all of creation. There was a free key given to me, simply because they wanted exposure. so. here it is.

RogueBreaker is a hellishly fun game that aesthetically takes you back to the NES days of Arkanoid (if you remember that). Its music is absolutely immersive and brutal, but also light hearted. Its gameplay is friendly to start off with, but it gets harder…and harder… and harder… AND HARDER until it goes absolutely APE!@#$ insane!.
