One More Line

This nice game follows the known pattern - easy to learn, hard to master!

It presents a great colorful main screen and even at a first glance it seems all quite well-made for being a indie game.

It also features a customization section and multiplayer, which is always nice if they’re playable and well-realized.

The core of the game is a one-button, fast-paced action timing game: you’ll play in a vertical scenario as a colorful line and you’ll come across lots of different objects - you’ll have to hold space in order to link to them, and they’ll make you endlessly run into a circle orbit around them.

This is a fairly fun game which would normally get my positive recommendation if it wasn’t for some game breaking bug/issues

It’s a simple one-button game, an endless runner. where you keep moving forwards, try to avoid obstacles and stay in the main path by clinging on to these obstacles, rotating around them until you release the button which will propel you towards the desired direction.

The graphics are simplistic and charming with a few choices for the main “blob”, music is fitting if not a little repetitive after a while and the whole production/programming is spot on, but for the next couple of issues..

JUMPGRID

JUMPGRID

I’ve been waiting for JUMPGRID to come out for a couple months only, after seeing a gif on Twitter that instantly hooked me.

The gameplay, the visuals, and later the music, all struck me.

I said to myself : wow, this is going to be a masterpiece. It just clicked, and I immediately showed it to everyone in my social cluster.

Playing it now, I can confirm that JUMPGRID doesn’t disappoint these high standards I had set for it, and even goes further than that.

The gameplay and level design are just amazing. For some levels, I was just dying over and over just because I was in awe, just sitting there in front of such a carefully and meticulously crafted game.

In JUMPGRID, you control a diamond that can move to an adjacent node in the grid as fast as you can press the key. Your movement wraps around so if you’re on the leftmost node when you press left, you’ll travel to the rightmost node. Your goal is to collect the cubes on each node while avoiding obstructions. These obstacles will scroll, swing, collapse, and expand, forcing you to learn and react to the pattern. Each of the levels are short but very challenging.

The twitchy gameplay and quick reloads mixed with the electronic music, and minimalist but flashy visuals lull you into a trance that could have one of two effects depending on your mood. If energetic, it will likely help you grasp the pattern subconciously. If fatigued, it might grind your will down to the point where you’re grumpy and annoyed. This dichotomy is at the heart of my experience with JUMPGRID. I enjoyed this game a lot, sometimes too much. I was so intent on defeating the challenge in front of me, it never even occurred to me that I would benefit from a break. Instead, I would keep retrying a difficult level, vaguely aware of my increasing carelessnes. This, in turn, would frustrate me – ensuring a vicious cycle.

NERVE

NERVE

As an avid Thumper player, this game checks all of my boxes.

-dark atmosphere

-killer soundtrack, heavy drums

-high speed, high intensity

-high skill ceiling

The game makes use of all of its mechanics, all of the time. So even though you are encouraged to go fast, there are points where you can’t always be turbo-ing. USE THE BRAKES!

Solid game, and I’m only on world 4. 10/10

EDIT:

After completing the game, I have to recommend it even more.

And the devs are receptive to feedback and are improving the game! There were several unfun issues with a few objects and hitboxes, which have been patched, making this an even better speed game.

RUS:

Smasher

Smasher

You are a wrongly imprisoned square, who must smash your way home.

Smasher has rules, but you will have to find them. Many of them involve smashing. This is unfortunate, but you must get home.

You should know that Smasher can be quite difficult at times. Escaping can involve fast-paced action situations. Perhaps a description of the controls will help to determine if you like this sort of challenge.

Controls

The left stick moves you around.

(You can also use the D-Pad or WASD on the rebindable keyboard.)

The right stick is the smash stick. Be careful.

(Also ABXY buttons or IJKL on the keyboard.)

Game

With these sole powers, you must manipulate your environment, and escape the labyrinth of levels. If you succeed, the external reward is a simple home screen, as befits a square. Of course, the real reward is always the journey, which has perhaps made you more than a square.

Editor

Or you can make your own Smasher games, full of your own Smasher levels. The built-in editor has full controller support.

Features

Smasher features a custom-built engine for its own crafted feel. It includes a soundtrack appropriate for smashing, performed by its own homemade synthesizer.

Thank you for smashing.

Smackball

Smackball

Awesome game capable of providing an immense amount of fun for you and your friends! It is easily noticeable that the game was made with love and polished to perfection. This can be seen from the visuals, which are clean but very pleasant, to the mechanics and gameplay, which are perfectly balanced.

What looks like a very simple game, quickly turns into an addictive, fun and competitive experience. The amount of game mode customization is huge. Controls and mechanics are easy to pick up, but try playing with a person who has twice the hours you invested in the game (or more)… Hint, it’s crazy fun to do that.

Real player with 6.5 hrs in game

Smackball is a competitive two-player game with a simple concept, but a lot of depth in it’s mechanics. While it is easy to learn the basic controls, you will need to master the time management and stamina control if you want to beat your friends. The game has few game modes, and each of them has a unique point that makes them interesting. Personally, I recommend the power ups mode as it has a little bit more tactics in it than the other modes.

aMAZE ABC

aMAZE ABC

I have bought all the aMaze games but these sorts are super frustrating. If you touch a wall, you have to start over. Instead of being relaxing, its more tedious and stressful. And I swear that so many times, i was no where near a wall and the ball burst and had to restart the puzzle all over again.

PLEASE DON’T make any more of these themed aMaze. They are not fun at all.

Real player with 5.1 hrs in game

The collision detection is horrible, leading to lots of stupid deaths. This turns fun into frustration the more it happens.

You control this game with the mouse, and the ball follows it. For some reason, if you move far away from the ball, it snaps to a 45 degree angle towards your mouse. Basically, if you have a long straight diagonal line and decide to put the mouse on the other side, the ball may roll into a wall because the line’s angle is different.

Visually, it’s a colorful mess. The walls sometimes blend into the background. Also, the font is pretty much unreadable.

aMAZE Double

It’s just another aMaze game, this time with two mazes. Once you’ve played one, you’ve played all of them.

There’s not much challenge. Just collect some pieces and get to the goal. No obstacles, just lots of dead-ends.

If you like these games, it may be something for you. But for me, it feels very copy-pasted. It’s the same game with different mazes.

aMAZE Halloween

aMAZE Halloween

I.. don’t precisely get this game.

I mean, there’s a whole Amaze series if I’m correct but.. it’s not funny at all.

The game consists of 50 levels that seem all the same, in which you have to collect balls through a maze and get to its end. It’s Halloween-themed and it offers little else.

The developers are right when they say that the game is straightforward, since.. it’s really easy. It’s just a maze, a series of bigger and bigger mazes with balls to collect and nothing else.

It gets boring even because your pumpkin ball moves slow and there are no enemies of any kind.

Real player with 46.5 hrs in game

aMAZE Halloween is a puzzle game and a game of the aMAZE series that progressively gets harder (to be honest more grindy). You control a ball and you have to direct it to a rainbow ball to open a portal and reach the finish line which is that portal, it’s more complex than aMAZE. It’s a fun game and is a kid friendly game. It’s like those mouse cheese maze type games. Here only game play matters. The one flaw is that sometimes the gear gets stuck on weird corners. (mainly on later rounds) Overall it’s a decent old concept game.
