Red Planet Farming

Red Planet Farming

What a great little game. Approachable for casual players, challenging for min/maxers, and those looking for all achievements. An incredible value considering it’s free; it took me about 15 hours to get every achievement and max out settlers in every map. It’s not hard to progress through the game, in fact if you’re trying to speed run it, it seems simply ballooning your population as quickly as possible is the way to go since all progression is based on population numbers. But if you’re trying to go for a certain strategy or goal you will find yourself restarting the 4 levels multiple times which can get frustrating. If you are such a player here’s a tip: the “results screen” is effectively the save point, so if run into a sudden bad result and want to avoid a population crash which will destroy an “optimal” run, alt+f4 at the results screen when you see your food production is significantly below your population needs, then continue the level when you restart the game. don’t do it if you’re only a little below, since knowing how to loose a few people without invoking the cemetery is necessary for an optimal run in the early game.

This development of this game was funded with a grant, and apparently it’s completely free, but if it were sold for money, I would pay for it. I would pay at least 5 dollars.

Red Planet Farming is a lot of fun. Disclosure, I am biased towards the theme, I love space and sci-fi. But I think the mechanics of this game work out pretty well. What makes the game fun is overcoming challenges and making progress. You have to figure out how to make a productive farm, how to plan developments, how to spread the seed base out so you don’t deplete a crop, and when you should mitigate risks (using protective measures or not).

Although there are not many reviews of this game and probably is not very popular, I really love it.

I mean, if you don’t treat it as a “game” but more like a peaceful corner of your device, you will understand what I’m saying.

I love the style and the relaxing vibe. I also particularly enjoy opening it up a few minutes every day to watch my trees progress or discover some novelty around. It is not a game to stay hours playing it (or at least for now).

I wish the developers gave some more info about what you need specifically to unlock certain things (i.e. receive letters from neighbors, send seeds, etc.) instead of blindly waiting for stuff to happen. But on the other hand that’s part of the charm of it, I guess.

Critter Clicker

Critter Clicker

Ok; I agree with reviews stating this is not a clicker game. Maybe ‘Idle Critters’ would be a better name. But I don’t agree that this makes it completely pointless and not worth the money don’t even have to spend on it.

I actually really liked it; trying to get all the upgrades and embiggen your farm is fun.

Plus, despite being a bit ‘bare bones’, once you get used to the interface it definitely has a quirky charm that I actually found far more pleasant than a lot of the more ‘polished’ idle/clicker games out there.

There is nothing to this game. Great at first but once you unlock the very minimal amount of things there is to unlock that it for the game.

If the game gets a major overhaul update I will reverse this to recommend.

Edit the 80+ hours are from mostly leaving it on overnight for a few nights… really only spent maybe an hour at most configuring things.

Sure it is free but if the developer added way more stuff I would pay something for this game because in the beginning it is fun.

Simply it’s A Pay to Win Game.

Real player with 242.5 hrs in game

Dont bother! Its a pay to win. Everything useful costs good money to buy or get this to even use. At level ten they take away tons of things that make this game cool then you have to buy a “premium” account. You have hundreds of plots and animals to feed one at a time after that more then one per animal too. The in game player market dont move at all and you pay to put something up for someone else to buy only for seconds later someone else putting a stack of 50,000 one cent cheaper then you and bam you now wasted your money(which isnt easy to come by). I have been playing for a month now and have a thousands bucks to spare right now. The only income other then the players market is customers which you get a few a WHOLE day. You can pay to get more like 1000 in game money to get a huge 2 more a day which is only gonna get you to about 200 per customer. Also with real money you have a few more options for more customers. This game has balance issues. It also has things you are to get for reaching a higher level well it says you get but never do. I see some of these later game things costs thousands and thousands of crops. Just think about the endless single harvest and watering clicking. The in game help could use some help too. There is things in the game it dont explain and trying to get a answer on the forums or discord is met with spams of “I need friends”. Yes friends which I cant see for what purpose in this browser game.

Grass Cutters Academy - Idle Game

Grass Cutters Academy - Idle Game

Just over 100 hours in. Most of it idle. I have got to what i guess is the end of the game. i can’t upgrade anymore and there is nothing left to do but continue to mow endless lawn. fun for a while but now just sit idle waiting for an update to something more exciting.

if you want something better look at leaf blower revolution.

Real player with 414.9 hrs in game

Really? There’s an academy for this sort of thing?

Grass Cutters Academy - Idle Game appears to be inspired by another game by the name of Leaf Blower Revolution - Idle Game, both being idle games about yard work…only thing is that this game isn’t really all that idle and to get all the prestiges, you’ll be idling for approximately 200 hours.

You start off in an incredibly slow mower and can use points from clipping sections of yard to upgrade your speed, increase value of your clipping points, buy automatic mowers, increase speed of said mowers, etc. And while the auto mowers do the job for you…they aren’t really intelligent enough to seek out patches of grass as they just ricochet off the walls.

Croppy Boy

Croppy Boy

It’s fun little game to mess around with.

The controls are a bit weird and will need awhile to get used to.

Controls :

included W A S D and Z (for tackle people, they’ll drop stuff on impact but.. it costs you stamina, will talk about this more later.)

  • A for dropping stuff you have (will drop crops first, then seeds)

  • S for tool actions (for watering crops, plow dirt, and seeding)

//it depends on your selected tool (choose with 1,2,3 or 4) also sickle is pretty much useless since you can cut glass without it.//

A cute, fun farming game with unique gameplay that makes it a great game to play in short bursts with a group of friends. If you are looking for a serious farming simulator or some ultra-complex strategic multiplayer game, this isn’t the game for you, but if you just want something that you can hop right on, spend less than 5 minutes learning the controls, and have fun – definitely check this out.

It’s also free-to-play without a cash shop for overpowered items or paywalls restricting what you can do. Definitely refreshing to see a game like that these days, given much worse games in the free-to-play category often try to shake you down for cash these days.

Horse Farm

Horse Farm

Personally my favorite game. I love feeding my horses and I log back in every single day! I’m currently level 184 and I should reach level 185 tomorrow. It’s overall a good game if you don’t have anyone to play with, as there is not many multiplayer aspects to it.

The people i tell about this game just laugh at me and tell me to get a life, but they have no idea what they’re missing out on.

The graphics of the game is really great considering its free, you can really tell that the graphic designer really loves their job at Upjers the details blows me away every time I open the game back up, they did an incredible job on the horses, its almost like they’re real! Of course you can tell the difference but its really good.

I like to have this game open in the background and play it actively when I’m waiting for a layer of gouache to dry. It keeps you busy in short bursts which is ideal for situations where you just have a couple minutes left over and nothing to do in the time. Personally I think the graphics are cute and have a sort of painterly style. I am currently at level 14 and have not experienced this game as pay to win. Managed to afford the infirmary, that seems to give other people a lot of trouble, without an issue as level ups and quests give you money as well. There is a nice amount of customization for your farm.

My Free Farm 2

I’ve been playing this game for more than 2 months now. Although I enjoy it, and plan to keep playing, I need to point out that there are more cons than pros to the game.

Pros[olist]

  • Animated animals: The animation and AI is spot on. I’ve spent quite a bit of time just watching the baby deer frolic.* Graphics: All the graphics are adorable. Sometimes I do wish I could turn off the weather. To the devs: yes, I noticed how the sun moves in the sky… very funny how it just goes round and round. If you want night, you need to build the Lighthouse.

Free to play farm builder…. SLOW pace, Typical Gem purchase/use to SPEED thing up. Of cource you can always wait, Harvest, fulfil order - get gold, spend on upgrading your farm. Decorations Drop NEEDED building items - screw, hammer etc to upgraded and expand farm. (limits on ### of tiles as well as each type.) Bigest problem so far TIME - seems LONGER than others of this type (need to decrease time 25-50%). Also anoying is having harvest limit on Trees, if kept , at least they should NOT cost needed expansion items (see decorations above ) too remove the Dead tree- which can not be moved once depleted. Lumberjack hut does not help this at all and is difiuclt to aquire without buying tools and spending RWmoney to get dimonds. Diamonds are nearly imposible to aquire, 1/level and 1 lumberjack hut quest and 1 other (only once) in 30 levels. All in all BIG TIME waste . Cost progressivly increases,as well as the time it takes to get tools from decorations. Changed from thumbs up to down. and uninstalled.

After thousands of hours playing on JP since 2014 as a Solo Player, and already a thousands hours on NA (sadly once again as a Solo Player), I have come to give you this advice that you will desperately need:

Don’t feed your MAG till you do research

Don’t go to block 69 if you’re streaming Block 69 has been removed. RIP hentai lovers. (I think they are migrating to block 34 because you know…rule 34…)

The Review has been edited to an extent, I am only playing the game at this rate to collect game-time because this is the game with my highest playtime on steam. I have not done any content for weeks infact. I am even slowly losing interest in this aspect.

Edit 5: I am tired.

SEGA sent mmoloda C&D to tell them to take down all pictures they had that was taken INGAME, with INGAME fashion and INGAME poses.

Y-yeah, sell us fashion that you end up wanting us to take down, more $90 scratch rewards please!!!!

Lobster Empire

Lobster Empire

You know what….

I started this game as something to play to make time go faster in anticipation of my mail coming…. after two days of casual Lobster catching I found my self in Era 2 still waiting for my mail and then then era 3 then four and then trying to get that damn Albino and his gigantic aquatic boyfriend just to find that there are 3 more even harder to find dead lobsters……

After a week or so of streaming this in a random public discord I have been told this game is like: stardew, sims and maple story heck even rune scape but no this is Lobster Empire a game that I got for like 1$ in a humble bundle and a game that after a week of blood sweat and tears and more determination than the ending deserved I find myself glaring at a question mark but also happy that I got this far with the other 4.1% of gamers.

Nice game for Mobile but not PC worthy.

The whole logic of the game resembles a lot more a Mobile game then a PC game. You have to wait X time in order to get forward in the game, in the mean time you have nothing to do and there is no way around it. Its somewhat of a Mobile clicker game…

The base idea is good and would work if it would give the player actually something to do while you waiting insted you in my case is was in-game for 16hours, actuall playtime was maybe 3 hours the other 13 hours i basically was waiting for the game to prefors a task (getting to and back from the Sea).
