DEMO AVAILABLE! Check the lil' download button on the right!

What do you do when your best isn’t good enough?

Lady Marion of Glastonbury is going to have to figure that out, and fast. Removed from her position of power and thrust into an unwanted arranged marriage, she finds herself careening through Sherwood Forest toward the troubled town of Nottingham.

Released from the confines of her previous life, who will Marion become? A freedom fighter? A knight-at-arms? A reluctant spy? Will she help create peace in Nottingham or hasten the coming confrontation between the strict Sheriff and the rebel Robin Hood?

And will a woman who resisted marriage end up finding love where she least expects it?

Find out when you’re… Made Marion.

A Romantic Action-Adventure Story

Made Marion is an otome visual novel - a romantic story primarily aimed at women, though of course all genders are welcome to play! It’s inspired by the tales of Robin Hood, but with many of its own twists.

Welcome to Avalon, an alternate-world Medieval kingdom in which humanity exists in a sometimes-uneasy balance with the mystical fae folk. Avalon’s hero-king Richard has gone missing, the nation is deep in debt from a recent war, and the commoners are agitating for more representation in government.

Step into the shoes of the proud young noblewoman Marion and guide her adventure in a richly-detailed fantasy world thick with political machinations and mystical intrigue. Decide who to trust and who to love. Can Marion make the right choices to save Nottingham from a dire fate?

Features:

Gorgeous Graphics with a Celtic Flair: Enjoy our beautiful, expressive characters and a unique world inspired by a variety of Northern European cultures. Celtic design elements are threaded through our character and background designs.

Proactive Heroine: Her name is in the game’s title for a reason! Marion isn’t just along for the ride; she drives the plot forward in many ways and has her own goals and desires.

One Big Choice, Two Different Worlds: After the game’s prologue, you’ll make a big choice that either sends you to Sherwood Forest or the city of Nottingham. Each side has a different cast to romance, and the two sides have a different feeling to them. Sherwood is a swashbuckling action-adventure, while Nottingham has more political intrigue and spy hijinks.

Role-Playing Choices: Instead of using a traditional affection meter, you’ll be making major role-playing choices in each route that lead to two possible happy endings. Choose to be clever or straightforward with the flirtatious Robin. Make idealistic or pragmatic choices with Geoffrey and Gui. It’s up to you, and you won’t be punished with a bad end for your personality choices.

Meaningful Bad Ends: Our bad endings are designed to be logical and interesting, giving hints about the wider story and world or showing a different side of the game’s characters. They’re also easily reversed, as they come from one-off choices.]

Made for Adults: We’re a sex-positive, LGBT-friendly otome game aimed at adult readers, with an over-18 cast. We aim to be mature without being “edgy” and to portray sex as a part of the characters' developing relationships.

New Features Incoming

Thanks to our successful Kickstarter (we love our backers!), Made Marion will be receiving a number of enhancements beyond what’s shown in the demo. We’re already implementing them in the full game, and we’re very excited about them!

  • 5 CG illustrations per love interest (35 total)

  • Ambient Sound

  • Cut-in illustrations to add interest to longer scenes

  • Sprites for animals and fae creatures (hug a greatstag!)

  • Animations to spice up (literal) magical moments

  • Improved glossary

  • More accessibility options (always planned, but now being implemented)

  • Alanna’s bard songs now have professionally recorded backing tracks and will be recorded in a sound studio instead of on an at-home mic.

  • And more!

Meet the Love Interests

Robin of Locksley: A deposed lord who is leading a rebellion against the autocratic Lord Geoffrey of Nottingham. A strong and capable leader with a tendency to hide his true feelings behind a wall of jocularity.

John: Robin’s second-in-command, a gentle giant of a man battling inner demons from his tragic past.

Will, the Scarlet Blade: John’s half-brother, a daredevil swordsman with several large chips on his shoulder.

Lord Geoffrey: Known locally by the derogatory nickname of “The Sheriff,” this stern lord is determined to rule by law, even if the law entails some very onerous taxes. Can Marion uncover the reasons behind his harsh policies?

Meissa: A mysterious, mischievous sage from an enemy land. Kind and compassionate, they harbor a dangerous secret.

Alanna Dale: A merry bard in Geoffrey’s court. Easy to fall in love with but difficult to truly know, she guards herself with layers of lies.

Gui la Londe: A gorgeous, graceful chevalier who is a confidant of Lord Geoffrey’s despite their very different worldviews. He would like to recruit Marion for an important mission of behalf of the Crown.

Important Note

Even without reading this review, I highly recommend that you download the demo prior to purchasing this game. It helps give a good feel with how the game runs.

Save files from the demo will be transferred over to the full game when purchased and you also have the option to skip the events from the demo.

Overview:

Reiterating what was stated in this game’s description, “Magical Otoge Iris” is an otome visual novel. The player takes the role of the female protagonist, Iris, who works as a “purifier” – a person who helps move spirits onto the afterlife. There are four main routes (Rieffe, Lanneis, Reqieu, and Septem) and four best friend routes (the mechanics of these routes will be explained further in the Gameplay section). As I continue on with this review, I may shorten “Magical Otoge Iris” to “MO Iris.”

First of, I never played any other games of the series. I just jumped into the game without further knowledge of the other games.

Additionally, my actual playtime is not as long as it is shown, since I sometimes left the game open, while I was not even on the PC.

However, it’s still not a short game.

I’m a bit struggling whatever I would recommend the game or not.

It’s not like I didn’t enjoy the game - though there were some parts I really did not like.

I would’ve probably enjoyed the game a bit more, if I had been younger :)

(Note: I am unable to get the “Pyrokinetic Lovers” achievement… I tried three times… I swear I got the “Perfect Ending” - It told me so. : Every other achievement I obtained - worked just fine. :D)

I kept looking at this game, as something about it was drawing me in. Then I had to read it! I was… Super glad I did. This game is… Hilarious… Has really great artwork… The scenes are beautiful and romances… GOOD. No one was annoying! Everything was just right!

And! There are pretty good choices, which let you pick if you are “nice”, “brave”… Like that. There is nothing confusing about those choices… They all make sense! Love it! I love that bunny chicken bird! (“Bunnywren”), Well, I am not really in love with it, but you know. It’s adorable.

Guardian of the future

Guardian of the future

Guardian of the Future is that type of a VN I really enjoy playing: lighthearted, pretty art, appealing love options… Quite often I just want some typical otome games with obvious outcome, easily achievable romantic happy endings, especially with available guides. That’s not that kind of a game that left an unforgettable impression, or something I’m gonna contemplate about after I finish it. But it mustn’t be this way. Just relaxing experience for a couple of evenings (don’t pay attention to my ‘hours on record’, the game was just always idly launched on my computer).

This game has so many layers to it… the plot twists… the stakes riding on your decisions! I am in awe. I went through so many ““bad”” endings to get to the ‘true’ good ending but having to work for that ending made it so much more satisfying. Not to mention that the ““bad”” endings still had brilliant content, and I enjoyed playing each time as there are so many different decisions to make. And so many people to woo…. heart eyes

Feminist brain: This is an excellent use of the visual novel format with amazingly complex worldbuilding, distinctive characters who are easy to love (or hate, as the case may be), and while the dream-dropping doesn’t seem to be integrated into the game so far it’s an interesting concept I’d like to see. All in all, I’m very much looking forward to the finished product.

Queer brain: hehe purdy ladies

Cat’s Princess - visual novel / Otome

(Note: I will re-edit this part, as I perhaps I used the wrong words to describe what I meant. After some much needed deep thoughts, here they are: I have read the game in both Russian and English. Both languages are well written, especially Russian. The English is simple and easy to understand and doesn’t require you to look up big words. It’s also all charming and adorable and very enjoyable.)

This game has cats. That’s all you need to know. XD Kidding, alright well…

It’s really cute and adorable! I played through all the routes just so I could see CATS! There are cats everywhere!!! Especially in credits!!! That’s one way of doing it heh heh. Oh right the guys… The guys are charming, everyone is well drawn. You don’t really learn much about them… But I am guessing if there was a continuation… Then we would?

OZMAFIA!!

OZMAFIA!!

I haven’t long gotten into Otome games (this is about my eight), but, oh boy, do I love this!

The Good

It has Japanese voice acting (covering about 70% of the game) that is superbly done and really takes many scenes to a whole other level; from heart warming, to funny, to heart breaking, to slightly steamy, to dark and disturbing, above and beyond what the writing alone would have done for me. Regardless of weather you understand the language itself, the tone and delivery makes all the difference in my book. I loved the writing and the translations are superb and flowed wonderfully, not rough or choppy or clumsy at all.

This game is just so…weird. The best way I think to describe it would be as a dark fantasy, with romantic and comedy elements.

This game is not for everyone. The routes all start off rather tame, but then quickly shift to WTF. Several endings have dubcon and noncon (implied and described), and can be rather graphic in their descriptions of violence and sex.

If you are interested in knowing more about the specific characters and routes, then continue reading below as I go into more detail without giving too many spoilers. If you want a surprise, well, just start playing and good luck! (I really recommend a guide though, there are just too many endings)

Changeling

Changeling

I’m afraid I won’t be able to find the right words to express how much I enjoyed the game! It was a stunning experience! I’d like to play more otome games like this. Changeling really is one of the kind!

Its greatest feature for me personally is the length. I’ve played long visual novels before but I don’t remember any otome games among them. There’s a common route and routes for six love options, each of them is about 100,000 words (approximately 700,000 words in general). That was amazing! Lots of content, lots of choices, lots of endings… It was long enough to make me feel deeply attached to the story and characters. I was living through all those events with them.

10/10

I have never written a review before, but I felt obliged to do so in the case of this game. I have played a lot of other visual novels such as Amnesia and Cinderella Phenomenon, but Changeling truly is something special; it is easy to tell the creators put a lot of love into it. I never expected it to be able to bring me to tears at some moments, while also making me laugh out loud at others. This game has six 11 chapter long routes that begin after a four chapter common route, and each of them manages to be engaging in their own way that the game remains as entertaining during the 6th playthrough as it is during the first. Gameplay wise, each playthrough should take a minimum of four hours (this of course assumes a very fast reading speed). Below, I’ve listed what I think is the best order to play the routes storywise along with some very light spoilers that shouldn’t reveal any important plot points:

Cinderella Phenomenon Evermore Visual novel game.

Absolutely my expectations were very high love this game everything about being totally amazing cast, crew were amazing the soundtrack and graphics are awesome the story behind each character amazing.

Cinderella Phenomenon (the First) was absolutely amazing with its mystery and creativity in things magic, character design and curse-setting. It ended pretty well too - well, most of the endings were satisfactory. So… a sequel? About their “Happily ever After"s? I dont know… I didn’t care much for Evermore’s storylines, honestly really disliked the character design changes (so many god forsaken details, my eyes hurt from not knowing where to rest - and those boy shorts on Rod? How am i expected to date marry(!) a man who still looks like a toddler?) and some of the choices/dialogue didn’t really “speak” to me?
