Heirs And Graces
Marcel’s meeting with his father is well-written. He feels he should get to know him despite what his mom told about him. His father’s a coward who still
! has feelings for her. She has a sad story, she was deceived and abandoned her son in the end.
Vincentbrought on duty is able to be himself. He’ll speak frankly being in love. He likes we tell him he can do better.
Lady Rosalynn is contemptuous and preposterous. She’s incoherent as she says servants dare to work for another for more coin then she finds it logical to work for money. I like how he’s gotten on her! It’s funny as she sticks out her tongue bewildered. I loved too Licia being awestruck about Borges and Licia.

So, I’ve been on a BL dating sim kind of kick, and have been searching everywhere. Heard about this one and was happy to see that it was on steam. This game was an absolute treat to play, and I’ve played it multiple times since, despite exhausting all the choices. So, let me get into the pros and cons of the game.
Pros:
Characters- The characters were all beautiful in their own way. I really got into each of their routes, tearing up a bit a few times. My roommate even got a kick out was first my least favorite character turned favorite character…A certain preppy, perverted know-it-all elf prince. Anyways, the characters were very well thought out and I enjoyed watching my character growing along with the character he chose to romance. Even the minor characters that become friends were wonderfully thought out.

Asterism
Asterism is a visual novel about a young Aligner, a high school student who, along with his friends, has the supernatural ability to detect specters and banish them using weapons made of constellations. And by ‘constellation’, I mean a physical manifestation of the mythological concept. Constellations appear in both a weapon and human form, the former the means to banish scepters and the latter being characters within the story. Once you accept the premise; it makes sense, I guess?
The plot can be summed up rather succinctly; it is about the protagonist Aligner and his friends rescuing constellations of the Zodiac from being consumed by specters.

Dreams of an Exile
Hey there, first review! Lets get to it:
To start off, I’d like to say I’ve found Dreams of an Exile quite charming and I’m a little surprised it doesn’t have more of a following.
It’s nothing mind-blowing but rather a cute little rpg maker puzzle game without any sort of (often tedious) battle elements one might expect when stumbling upon something like this.
Dreams of Exile is reliant on terrain puzzles, vaguely reminiscent of older Zelda titles with some occasionally timed 2-D platforming to keep you on your toes. The puzzles themselves are pretty simple BUT it still took a simpleton like me a bit of time to understand which thing did what and when I should use something. Even then, the game itself is pretty forgiving.

Not a bad concept. I like the idea of jrpg styled game without battles (JRPG battles can be tedius).
Controls can feel floaty and not precise at time. Great music, ok level design, great art style. It’s 2 dollars, can’t really complain too much. Short and sweet. Free NSFW Dlc if you like that kind of thing.
Pros: Cute Lesbians, casual gameplay, cool music and art
Cons: The game sometimes has a memory leak issue and uses 6-8 gb of ram.

Errant Kingdom (Chapters 0-5)
I’m at Chapter 3 for now, but I don’t know if I’ll ever finish this game so I’ll write my review now.
I can’t not recommend it because the game is beautiful, the characters are nice and diverse, the story is interesting, the writing isn’t boring, the music is fitting. You can choose your character’s gender and race, you can choose your backstory.
But. And this is my one big but - the romances. There are 6 “love interests” out of which 4 are involved with eachother. 2 were a couple that you can help get back together if you so wish and other 2 are implied to sleep together, without a lot of romantic interaction. You have the option to go “poli” with these 2 couples as well as just pick one. I’m not a fan of this - two’s company, 3s a crowd. I always feel like I’m third wheeling when there’s already couples in the game or that I’m breaking them up or butting in where I don’t belong.

I Cannot recommend more highly
Errant Kingdom, by Lunaris Games has easily become one of my favorite visual novels despite its status as an early access game. Yes, the game is still in development, and yes, content for it is still being produced, but what is there is quality. The art is stunning, the story is engaging and mysterious (It takes a good few chapters to finally realize why you are in Novus), the characters are unique and enchanting. I cannot get enough of this game.

Jack-In-A-Castle
So cute! Loved it!
The story is fun, the characters are great (I love the MC, Marion), the art is awesome all around (love the backgrounds and the sprites). Music fits, though I prefer my VNs with less lively music (it’s somewhat grating if you let it run in the background).
It’s pretty short, it isn’t voice acted (thank god) and the choices are kinda obvious. There’s also a secret ending.
BTW, the MC (Marion) is a boy - it’s in the game description but it’s hard to tell at first glance. So the the game is BL if you want to pursue the romances (the 4 romantic interests are boys - 3 are main routes, the 4th is a secret shorter route).

I was always a bit skeptical about comedies, doesn’t matter films or games. Usually you expect something truly laughable but…in best case scenario you just smile occasionally. That’s mainly disappointing.

This game piqued my interest mainly because it’s a BxB novel. Nothing explicit, though it’s not that important actually. But the story surpassed all my expectations! It was so cute, thanks to pretty and unique art-style, so hilarious. I laughed quite often, the story sometimes seemed absurd, sometimes amusing. The writing is gorgeous. It was a real pleasure to dive into those funny conversations. The fantasy world created in the game is very atmospheric.

Spirited Heart Deluxe
Based on the poor reviews, I was expecting Spirited Heart: Deluxe to be utterly unplayable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, though not without several problems, it’s not nearly that bad. While not the best raising sim I’ve ever played, it’s certainly not the worst, and it even does some interesting things with the format. I’d say its biggest flaw is that it’s very old, and thus, obviously the work of a young developer. It lacks polish, but it’s got some heart.
THE GOOD

♥ Sorta neat
I liked the premise - I’m a sucker for simulation games, especially ones filled with choices.
Unlike other games, there’s many characters to pursue a relationship with, and along with being able to choose your character species, you can also choose whether to be straight or lesbian. Nice! -:)
Then there’s stats - essentially character traits like gardening, charisma, etc. that effect the jobs you can have, and the choices/outcomes to things. Unfortunately what I quickly realized was the game isn’t about a story or choice - it’s about the stats.

Bard Harder!
We played this through on stream and had an excellent time - the first achievement was a struggle for us though since we won first time! :P
This game is absolutely wonderfully made and definitely deserves to cost more than it does. The art is beautiful, the music funky and the writing is great. Absolutely recommend for a couple of hours of fun!

pros:
-
funny
-
unexpected choices and lines sometimes
-
cool characters (especially the villain which has a great background)
-
easy to understand (I’m french and got everything)
-
not expensive
-
Queer vibes (ace, trans and bisexual representation, and for once people getting that ace =/= aro, that’s nice)
-
Plain flirt, so it’s not oversexualizing, it’s more romantic than sexual really
cns:
-
really short game
-
not a lot of choices, like you really can’t do much
-
if you wanna win, you basically just have to read all the villain’s story and have a good memory

Wicked Willow
I cannot contain how amazing this game is. I had the best time playing it and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I found myself impatiently waiting until the next stream so that I could play more. I have even gotten all but one ending.
Firstly, as a streamer doing a visual novel I was pleasantly surprised to find the whole game to be voiced! Of course the acting is spot and the voices add so much to the characters. Not to mention the artwork is stunning. The characters, the details in the scenes and choices cards are all incredibly done.

A visual novel about a witch who wants to save the world and/or smooch other witches. The plot and character writing can be a little broad, a little trite, and absolutely worth it. Assuming the phrase “queer witch” is something you at all vibe with it–and let’s be honest, if you do, you probably vibe with it pretty flippin hard. Think Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) but chock a block with lesbian pastiche. If you look for it, you will find plenty of spots where the natural growth of a character takes a back seat to jumping to the point of their arc. There are times when the resolution of a story thread diverted so far from where it began, it feels a little like the storytelling was more in service of the diverging choose-your-adventure format than completing a natural narrative arc. And, honestly, if you’re not on board with what Wicked Willow has to give, those could be steep hurdles. For me, as much as I can dig a story with depth, this game is so genuine about the character relationships it wants to show, the audience it wants to reach, and the way in which it wants to tell its story that I find the package deal to be utterly charming.
