HaremKingdom is the 2020 Smee game, winner of a 2020 pink award from Moe Game Award, the 4th officially localized Smee game, and the 1st one to be localized by Shiravune. Like in typical Smee fashion this is a very light hearted comedy featuring virgin heroines, but this time Smee uses the recently popular Isekai setting and features harems instead of single pairings. Also in typical Smee fashion, this is better than every Smee game that came before it, imo, but that recommendation comes with a lot of caveats.

I swear Japanese can actually make good comedy when they try, HaremKingdom is the proof. The game is absolutely littered with over-the-top humor and intentional ridiculousness, it takes tropes from isekai and fairytale fantasies and twists the shit out of them to fit into the game’s crazy story. Comedy is all about subverting expectations, after all. When it comes to jokes, well, it’s almost always the delivery that sells. And yeah… This game does deliver. Seriously, HaremKingdom is legitimately the funniest game (VN) I’ve played (read) this year, no contest. Royal Seal of Approval.

The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2
This game is even better than the first game.
Some new elements is added but not much. Can be ignored but still it is an improvement. There are some animation added to the game, a driving mini game is added.
The characters are lovely and have their struggles and backgrounds. It’s very attractive. My favorite main characters from the two games ranged as
Sachi Lucia Iris Patricia Nobuchina Asuhara Kuroki Euracia
The only thing need to know about the background is the main protagonist became a cat when kissing a female and it is caused by Patricia who is from the netherworld to destroy the world that humans are living in.

“Again happy cat experience, it’s a nice sequel! ヽ(=´▽'=)ノ”
+ Point: All ages, but you can experience it at a reasonable price.
[1] Intro
The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2. (Original Title: Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart 2) It’s a Japanese anime style visual novel originally released by Harukaze in 2017. Its R15+ version was released in February this year as the PS4 and Nintendo Switch titles. As you may know, there are the R18+ contents in the original Japanese version, but this global version is for all ages such as Trinoline(MangaGamer).

The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart
If you play with the restoration patch, I’d surely recommend the game.
The story itself is pretty decent, and it has a good quality, yet, I’ll agree with everyone who’s complaining, the normal version is really bad. I don’t know what they were thinking when they decided to bring such an incomplete game. This isn’t one of those eroge that you can easily play without the H-scenes.
With that said… I’ll give a review because I played it with the restoration patch.
First of all:
-If you decide to buy it, do it when it’s like 50% off, don’t even dare to buy this game at full price

Target Audience: Those needing a smile, or want good characters to connect to
Summary:
While I understand the controversy surrounding the “cut content” dealing with the console versions and the licensed work from Japan, I believe the strength of the game’s core story ends up overcoming that regardless: because it’s a series of characters that are easy to connect to, and touching scenes and moments in the story that end up pushing Stray Cat into a must get in the romantic comedy visual novel pool. Yes, the game may have reasonable line work, alright music, and can be all over the place, but it’s the charm that lifts it to new heights. There’s something down to earth despite some of the super natural elements of the game, and it’s thanks to some EXCELLENT voice acting that the game is able to sell the ridiculous yet emotional elements of the game. I’m going on record that the japanese voice acting is some of the best I’ve heard, especially from Yuuki and Michi. Which by the way, Michi is best girl and no one can tell me otherwise.

Magicka
Do you like magic? Do you like killing monsters? Then this is a game for you to play. I’ll try my best not to spoil any of the story, since the game’s highlight is the story. You have a choice of 8 different elements you can combine into a spell, including Magick, which I will get to. Many of these spells have different effects and can be used differently. If you become experienced, you can perform these spells without an issue. The 8 different elements are water, life, shield, fire, lightning, death, earth, and snow. Already you can imagine some of these elements have opposites and combine into different elements. You are exactly correct. For instance, water + snow = ice. Also an example of opposites are earth and lightning. Earth and lightning cancel each other out. You can use these different spells you come up with in many different ways. You can use it by just using left click, you can press shift + left click to apply it to your melee weapon (which I will explain later), and you can apply it to yourselves by middle clicking with the scroll on the mouse. You think that’s it in combat? NOPE. You start off with a staff and another weapon which you use by clicking shift + left click, that’s also how you use the spell you apply to it. You can find different kinds of staffs and other weapons (which most are melee) that have different effects. Then, there’s the Magicks. These books can be found in the different levels. There’s a certain amount in every level that does things that you cannot do with normal spells. I’ll leave it at that. The combat capabilities alone shows that this was well thought out.

Magicka is a wonderful game full of challenge, joy and an interesting plot as well as lore for those willing to see through the light-hearted nature of the game. the mechanics are solid and fluent to move through to the point where movement within the game becomes so second nature to players so quickly that you’re playing fluently by the second level for myself and the majority of people I’ve played with.
Missions are thoroughly enjoyable with destructive magic and magical combinations which make you feel truly powerful and a good balance of characters with great connections between characters. all named characters vital to the plot are memorable for either their battles or personalities respectively. The game feels like it gives the player all the power from the start whilst maintaining a great learning and difficulty curve which allows for learning and enjoyment of game mechanics.

Paper Shakespeare: To Date Or Not To Date?
So far I’m having a great time, clever writing, the art is very good, and I’m enjoying the premise. A more substantial review will come later but I wanted to leave a quick endorsement!

Bought this for the dinosaur mod. Worked out so far for me. I wrote a much longer review but it wasn´t sent so I keep it short…
All together:
good
-
Game has really well drawn characters (in my case dinosaur mod)
-
You get to know other characters ask them questions and eventually date them (was dancin´ with my fav. dinosaur a few times)
-
If you are into that dinosaur / creature stuff this is a really good VN for the pictures and the conversations
-
Sound effects and musik are good, and at least at the beginning it feels like someone´s taking you on a hand and helps

The Hayseed Knight
If there was a game that perfectly captured modern day degenerate humor it is this game. Our unfortunate hayseed knight is basically a walking talking cursed innuendo. This game actually almost feels like an anime in that way.
I really liked this game. I’m starting to grow an appreciation for the simple game design of line less painted backgrounds and simple line drawn ‘cut scenes.’ You can get a lot of good screenshots literally all over the place.
The music is great. I love situation specific music that knows how to change with whats happening. I could actually see myself buying the OSP if I could.

The Hayseed Knight is a lovingly crafted Visual Novel which, while light on gameplay, features incredibly well-written dialogue and narration, memorable and sometimes surprisingly complex characters as well as art assets and voice acting rivalling even big-budget productions in terms of quality. But I know that story is what’s most important to the Visual Novel crowd, so let me tell you this: The Hayseed Knight made me laugh, it made me think, it made me feel butterflies in my stomach and in the end,
! it even broke my heart.

William’s Love Prelude
Man, I had this game on the backburner for quite a bit. I finally decided to pick up the game, and play, after a bit of some bit of time to kill, and enjoy some Kemono content on Steam. While the game was overall pretty alright, it’s far from being bad.
(Because I would be updating my review, and the review character limit is dumb, I’ll add additional comments in the.. well, comments)
Art
The art of the game is pretty cute. The main menu screen having a uniquely cute forest sprite with a very pretty lighting effect, but I wished that would’ve been the style of backgrounds used for the game. The menu art of the game is pretty cool, being a more storybook style. The character’s designs are pretty simple, which thanks to that does allow for all of the background character sprites to be unique from each other without having too much details being added to them. In combat, your character sprites are also pretty simple, but are animated based on their condition, their stance, and their attacks. It’s all pretty neat stuff, so it’s not just a static sprite. The enemy sprites are a bit weird, as they are portraits than sprites, but it’s not much of a problem outside of that and it does compliment the more cutesy style of the game for all the regular enemies, and the boss sprites do at least look more menacing in contrast.

Dinky Dungeon
Dinky Dungeon is an absurd arena shooter game with a (relatively) charmingly ugly style. All the sounds in the game are recorded and engineered by a single guy and a cat. Yes, finally I found a chance to give a role to my cat in this game!
Story
You and your grandfather start a dungeon business for trapping evil creatures away from the town. You are the muscles and your grandfather is the brain. You have to deal with the problems whenever your grandfather calls you. You can be sure that he causes a lot of problems. There will be 21 levels with different quests, while you improve your small dungeon with your grandfather.
Gameplay
It is mostly kill whatever you see on sight. But at the start of each level you will be given some quests. For example: kill 30 goblins, dismantle the traps, protect the crate shipment, solve the puzzle mechanisms, slay the goddesses or bosses, destroy the nests.
As you kill creatures and complete the quests, you will earn experience and you will be able to improve your character.
Giants, minotaur, skeletons, trolls, goblins, bandits, falcons, slimes, lich lords are some of the enemies you will encounter with.
List of features
-
Scenario mode with 21 levels, and endless arena modes
-
Absurdly unique and fun arena shooter gameplay
-
Remarkable graphics and sound effects
-
Character progression with various abilities and weapons
-
Various enemies with different features
-
Boss fights
-
Lots of quests
-
Live leaderboards and achievements
-
A hell of a grandfather
The Bard’s Tale
There are very few games I play through more than once. There are even fewer RPGs. This is one of them. With the amazing vocal talents, excellent music, laugh-out-loud funny comments, asides, and conversations, this game will forever give me a smile.
As with the majority of RPGs, you’re a low-level schmo who gets ‘invited’ to partake on an ever-expanding adventure where you ascend the level tree, getting bigger weapons, fighting bigger monsters, and eventually get the girl, and live happily ever after. Except in this case, the game shows that things aren’t quite peachy, and seem to go downhill, rather than up.

This game is sort of alright.
Love the songs in this game.
That is probably the only thing going for it, the humour and awesome songs.
The controls, combat and camera are very clunky and awkward and the constant load screens are annoying as well. No inventory, little depth to the game and it becomes repetitive.
Though no inventory can be classed as a good thing especially if you’re a hoarder who finds it hard to part with anything in case you need it later. Not so with this game, no need to sell anything, it is automatic, any loot you pick up whether it be wolf pelts, or jewels etc. immediately turn to silvers, the currency of this game. If you find a weapon more powerful then the equipped, it immediately equips it and turns the old into silvers. But it also means less depth and not really any choice of what you equip. Such as you would rather equip a faster sword that has less dmg, but nope it would equip the weapon does the most dmg.

The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles
Well. It’s very better than The book of Unwritten Tales.
It has difficulty level for the riddles. You can still turn on the Show Points so you won’t have pixel hunting even in HARD mode.
But the riddles are difficult enough in front of the first part of the series.
If you play the game in normal mode you ’ll have more hints by the characters and you ’ll miss a couple of riddles. Generally the game does NOT change much. So play it at hard anyway!
The graphics are about the same with the difference of the settings. You don’t have complicated settings like AA Anisotropic or Antialiasing. You choose between smoothness and Picture quality and that’s it. Well in the first part the antialising thing mattered . I had it in 8X. Here the differences are small to nothing. Try “Low” in smoothness and “Medium” in picture quality. The last one sets the textures sent to the graphic card. If set to the best it will sent uncompressed textures directly to the graphics card so even the best cards may NOT handle some scenes and you ll have glitches. You have more vivid colors but the difference is that and ONLY that. So set it to medium and enjoy the game with more earth colors. The graphics are 3D Indie so the colors are vivid enough anyway.
– Real player with 16.7 hrs in game
The only reason you would not enjoy this game is that you didn’t like The Book of Unwritten Tales, so why would you read this review? You should play this game between the two main games. As a side story, the scope is reduced to fewer characters and locations, but the game isn’t too short, especially if you play it on hard mode. I only finished it on hard, with extra steps to accomplishing your goals, which means I don’t know exactly what steps aren’t required in normal mode. Incidentally, I don’t know why five of the achievements are for playing in normal mode but you can’t earn them in hard mode. I’m not playing it again on an easier setting just to get them.
