Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond

Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond

Reminiscent of beloved side scroller games like Donkey Kong, Captain Sabertooth is truly a pleasure to play. The cutscenes were beautiful to watch, and some of the backgrounds were gorgeous. I especially loved scenes where you could see the pirate ship in the background, so detailed!

Controls were smooth and easy to navigate, the character actually had weight to it, making it easy to navigate jumps and tricky areas.

I especially enjoyed some of the functions like the map, where if I got lost I could steer my way back, and find where quests were.

got it for my nephew who'#s coming to stay soon. Last time he was here he enjoyed watching me play crash bandicoot but it was a bit much for him. Naturally gave it a whirl. Nice graphic flow and a it doesnt punish failure which is good for a tounger game. Cool thing to explore may have to “help” him as an excuse to have more time on it. Quality

A masterpiece I would say but you cant get past the mission where you pick up wheels and shit cuz Oswald takes everything and then does nothing and he asks you for the same shit again, but guess what it doesnt exist anymore cuz Oswald fakin took it.

Up untill the mission Booty it is ok if we dont consider some of the “minor” glitches. When you retrieve all the materials in Booty and speak to Oswald he just steals all your stuff and you are thrown back to the start of the mission, forcing you to restart the game because the materials dont spawn a second time. I can’t get past this. Devs pls fix your shit!

LEGO® Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game

LEGO® Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game

I think this is the shortest of the LEGO games I’ve played - only took 23 hours to get to 100%.

But short does not equal bad, in this case. There’s still plenty enough content, and this is a good solid LEGO game. Some minor flaws (plus the death of the character customizer as an actually fun tool), but nothing glaring. It does a good job of combining the gameplay of the older, classic games with the fresh coat of paint of the newer games. Great work done with balancing of character abilities. No voice acting yet. I’m not super fond of hiding all of the extras in the hub, but it’s okay. Only five levels per movie this time, but balanced out by the fact that there are four movies. On the whole, a good fun game.

One of the most fun LEGO games I have played. Would definitely recommend if you want to chill and have fun.

Robot Pirates

Robot Pirates

This game is a lot of fun.

It’s simple and addictive enough that you’ll start to play it for five minutes while waiting for something to start, and then an hour later you’re still playing it. There’s enough collectibles to give a fair amount of variety and leave you in a situation where you’re wondering if you should turn back or slow down to pick up something like an extra battery or a chest, and the randomly generated levels keep you on your toes.

I Am the Captain Now

I Am the Captain Now

I’ve had a lot of fun playing this with my husband and daughter. We love being able to work together, make mistake, give each other orders, and just goof off. You basically need to collect treasure, but each level is different on how you collect them; following clues or just dexterity.

Definitely take a look into it!

Cute little pirate game with a unique spin on co-op. First level the captain ran away and left the rest behind. We demoted him in the next voting. The next level the captain was much more considerate and really tried to get everyone to like him. But that made us too slow and we failed the mission so we demoted him too. The further into the game we came the better collab we had, but there also showed up more opportunities to steal votes and pact. In the end no one trusted anyone, which was hilarious. Cool concept, cute graphics and definitely worth the low price. Recommended.

Jolly Rover

Jolly Rover

Yes, a cat is recommending a game with dogs in it… moving on.

It’s a funny little adventure game. The story is short and decent enough to deliever, but won’t notice till you play a second itme.

The target audience is rather mix; while it looks more appealing for kids, it might be more for teenagers and older as it does give some adult humor here and there, but kids may not notice them as they’re subtle. Also, they use the female dog term as it’s intended to be… so… something to consider.

At first glance this game will look like some sort of Monkey Island ripoff. And in a way, that might be the way to describe it. Personally, I think it’s more of a love letter to adventure games of yesteryear, combining the atmosphere and humor typical of major adventure games of the 90s with a few modern twists, including quests to find hidden pieces of eight and crackers, and a clever hint system should you choose to use it. If there’s one thing that I dislike about many modern adventure games, it’s that they give hints much too easily. Making the puzzles difficult to solve and not forcing hints down your throat is better for an adventuring experience.

I’ve been playing this game… AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!!

This game really capture the feeling and the aesthetic of the Game Boy games.. so If you are a retro enthusiast… You’ll love it.

This is a cool, adorable, charming platformer that becomes quite challenging in the last level. It controls well, the music is awesome, and it emulates the game boy feel perfectly.

The main mechanic is your bombs are used as makeshift platforms, and as your weapon. You have to manage them well, especially on bosses - because getting stuck in an area when your bombs are on cooldown is almost a sure death sentence. It’s very engaging and I loved it.

This is an easy recommendation for anyone, and especially if you like platformers.

A good game like the others in the series. Simple mechanics, with a relaxed atmosphere, but this time with pirate themes.

Definitely an essential item for the hidden shapes collection.

The Zwuggels - A Beach Holiday Adventure for Kids

The Zwuggels - A Beach Holiday Adventure for Kids

Although he’s a little young to manage the mouse, our 22-month-old Smol Owlbear loves playing Zwuggels on a touchscreen, so much so that we’ve bought it for additional platforms.

The characters are charming - especially Nico - and the mini-games that make up each level of the game almost all hit the sweet spot between interactive toys and intellectual challenges for young kids,

I love the multi-lingual text, as it gives our family a chance to do some reading in a couple of the languages we use, in a refreshing format.

Score – 8/10 (Recommended)

If you don’t care if an interactive storybook doesn’t read itself, there’s a lot to like about The Zwuggels: the game is a hoot for four and five-year-olds, it has superb artwork and it’s a great opportunity for you and your child to bond as you explore the adventure together. Recommended if you’re a parent seeking a family-friendly precursor to point ‘n’ click adventures for children.
