Riverbond

The overall presentation is great. Its fun with a good atmosphere that is very upbeat. The sound compliments the game. The only problem with a game as polished as this it needs a variety of game modes beyond the levels. Maybe I haven’t unlocked them yet, I don’t know. I have only played half way through the game. I know i could play the same level over and over again. But may be a local/online pvp free for all or some player vs environment mode like Boss Battle etc. Some RPG elements possibly as well. I’m hoping DLCs in the future will add to what I think is already an awesome game and worth every penny as far as I’m concerned..

Great side-scroller, if you liked Temple Run you’ll like this. Got it on my iPhone just recently and it’s addictive when you’re on the commute to and from work.

gameplay review: fight stuff. that’s about it, if there’s other stuff to do i haven’t fount it yet

so i got a bunch of bugs:

game has crashed multiple times… at least it has autosave i guess?

graphics settings don’t save

if you level up multiple times from one monster (like you can from certain golems) you only get one skillpoint. didn’t check stat points, but that’s likely to have the same issue

seems like most areas only drop gear with extremely low levels. so the only place to get high level gear is the shops… sometimes. as a side effect, there’s no way to earn zs quickly, so high-level gear in shops quickly gets prohibitively expensive

I played for about an hour today and so far it’s pretty good fun. The maps are large and it is really an experience getting from point a to point b. I do wish there were keyboard character controls, but that could be something for when this comes out of Beta. I did have an issue once where I was being attacked by an invisible enemy and another glitch were things stopped attacking me all together. I’m looking forward to playing more. The voice acting so far is really really good. I’m excited to get the part I voiced.

Moon Hunters

Moon Hunters

Moonhunters

Moonhunters is an isometric action role-playing game that can be played with up to four people. There are several different characters to pick from with a limited amount of abilities that become more diverse as you progress through a session. The game itself is set in five different worlds, adorned with pixel graphics.

Your Progression

Moonhunters features a central hub whereby a collection of everything you have unlocked in single and multiplayer games is compiled. These are scenarios whereby you triggered certain events or met specific bosses. The idea of the game is to collect all of these trophies and fill up your hub. It is important to note that this is an extremely repetitive grind whereby you meet the majority of the same content over and over again. to put it into perspective; this is a game whereby it is impossible to unlock everything through skill but rather luck and figuring out which conversations lead to certain triggers. This, in turn, means that a lot of your time will be spent searching the wiki on how to get specific unlocks and then attempting to recreate these scenarios.

Let me explain this rating: I would recommend the experience of MH, not the game itself.

The value of MH is learning from its mistakes of trying to develop a narrative through mechanics. As someone who likes rogue-lite games yet craves for more storytelling, the idea of uncovering/shaping the story through replay-value is a novelty I can admire.

It’s no masterpiece nor a new benchmark for rogue-lites; it’s something of a failed experiment. That’s how I’d explain my apprecation for the game.

INDIE FANTASY LOCAL MULTIPLAYER GAME FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY, SET UP ON THE WORLD OF ETERNALIA

Two games in one; Classic Arcade mode and First Person Medieval Shooter. There might be a third mode coming if you people like the videogame; a party RPG, integrating the story of the Essence Reaper Ritual with the mechanics of this videogame. You decide!

FEATURES AND CONTENTS

  • Local multiplayer fantasy game, for 1-4 players, sharing same screen.

  • Steam Play Together. Invite your friends to play with you even if they dont own a copy.

  • An Arcade mode campaign, to play with your friends or solo. Hack and Slash.

  • A First Person mode, following the same campaign than that of the Arcade mode.

  • An Arena mode; gather your party, venture forth and face five waves of enemies, each wave of increasing difficulty.

  • 5 different characters, each one with their uniques skills and combat styles.

  • Subttile and menus in three different languages; English, French and Spanish.

  • Beta version will have one full playable level. As we move forward, up to 4 more leves will be added.

  • Each level is set up in a different atmosphere, with different enemies.

The idea of creating this videogame came in when spending time with our young family members (e.g. nephews and niece) playing a videogame. It should be easy to play, not too many buttons, yet plenty of fun. We are scripting from the very beginning everything to accommodate three languages; English, French and Spanish, so the videogame will be available en those three languages.

We just give you for now a video and a couple of screen capture of the first tests.

We are thinking on adding a script to be able to import your own pictures to the game, so instead of having the 4 portraits of each character, you may import yours. I bet my niece and nephews would love that.

Alpha version of the videogame, actual game play, is working well.

GAME CONTROLLERS

You may use;

  • Xbox One controllers or similar

  • Keyboard & Mouse

LOCALISATION

I have been integrating different languages from the very beginning of programming / development. I use Dialogue System from Pixel Crushers which allows easy integration, and for specific short texts as in the Main Menu, I have just hardcode it. Once you choose a language, Dialogue System keeps / save that info for the entire videgame, so upon load an scene, Dialogue System load all previous saved data including language chosen.

Basically, this is the mechanics of overcooked mixed with the gameplay ideas of Gang Beasts. It super fun to dash around use and throw the weapons, some weapons are a little more useful than others, but they are all counterable. It controls well. A bunch of cool little stuff to unlock, like hats and characters, a bunch of different powerful gods to play, all with different gameplay styles. A whole bunch of beautifully designed maps/artwork, and a whole bunch of other stuff to explore. A great and simple versus game that is definitely worth picking up.

This is an amazingly fun item-arena brawler. The closest games I would compare it to are the Bomberman series and Killer Queen Black.

Your character avatar has no impact on your move set, which consists of punching, grabbing/activating an item, and throwing an item. Your associated Ancient One cult (Cthulhu, Dagon, and Nyarlathotep right now) does have a slightly altered move set, which are fitting for the time-limited avatar transformations (similar to a Smash Bros. Smash Ball). The game moves at such a frantic, hilariously fast and fun pace that it doesn’t need more than this.

Uncertain why are there so many short and negative reviews,

complaints about the game crashing, unable to start etc…

Had no problem at all.

Gameplay is rather smooth and fluid.

Graphics are bright, colourful and well drawn.

Dialogues and short-scenes are actually well done and entertaining.

Switching between campanions to utilize the playstyle in different situation or encounters.

Stationing the meleer behind a bush, using the archer to shoot the enemy archer and lure the others towards the bush for the meleer to engage.

I really wanted to give this game a chance. But I simply couldn’t. While the graphics are…cute, everything else is sub-par. The combat system is clunky and arbitrary (random chance determines whether you land a hit for a pixel of the enemy’s health or if you ragdoll them in one strike, or if you are the archer you could find yourself in a situation where you’d be shooting 10 arrows at a stationary target before ever hitting the mark - the trajectory is random). The quests are cookiecutter and on the annoying side - from bring ten mosquito wings to escort the (suicidal) peasant most are just lazy. There are skills, but only a few of them are actually reliable to any degree…And then there’s the bugs…Oh the bugs. From the peasant you’re escorting dropping through the ground to oblivion (and mission fail) to random crashes this game has it all. And then there’s Dobrynya…The pole vaulting hero…who for somer reason goes completely ragdoll limp(presuumably from fear) when you, well, pole vault. Which would be tons of fun…if it didnt cause him to slide feebly off the side of that island or log you werre trying to reach, causing mission fail.
