Bee Simulator

Bee Simulator

Bee Simulator, a cute game that helps you understand just what a bee goes through, an insect that helps to pollinate so many flowers and plant life so well, better than any other insect out there and how the world around them affects their livelyhood and natural habitat. This game has a decent take on the world of bees with a nice couple of mini games that flesh it out for you.

Just a quick disclaimer: I rarely swear in a review, but this game deserves it. I’ve got a lot of patience for games as I try almost all the games out there, but fuck man, this game got me upset at stages.

The game is mostly minigames. The main story and side quests have variation from the minigames, so it’s not just those. But most of your time in the game will be minigames. I gave this a negative review, but it wasn’t too bad of a “time waster” game.

Races you fly through blue rings to follow/catch another flying insect. There are speed boost pickups to slightly fill your speed boost gauge, and slowdown pickups to avoid. If you miss a ring you lose a failure token, but you must go through the next ring or lose. There are also obstacles throughout the “courses”. The “Easy” difficulty is super easy and short. The “Hard” version is much longer and needs more skill.

Disney Planes

A really nice game. My kids like it and it has some simple modes (free flight, balloon pop) that even smaller children can play and have fun. The graphics are nice and the controls are good. The only thing that annoys me a bit is the limited and repeating phrases during races.

This game is fun, you get to play as most of the main characters from the Planes movie. Story mode is pretty neat, other modes available. My biggest complaint is the on screen prompts are generic buttons, only thing that differentiates them is color. So it’s hard to tell what controls what. Game settings are just device choice, ie gamepad or keyboard; no mapping available. Using my gamepad I was able to figure out the controls, but for keyboard, it’s almost impossible. Once controls are figured out, it’s a great game.

A fun Starfox-like that’s got a great arcade Battle Royale feel. Awesome to play with friends, especially since matchmaking is a bit tough right now. The devs say they are going to make more modes and characters, so I’m excited to check in pretty frequently.

Whirlibird

Whirlibird

The external, remote control perspective of this game brings to mind the old electro-mechanical arcade games of the ’60s and early ’70s like Midway’s ‘Whirlybird’ or ‘Chopper’, only this game has vastly more depth and sophistication.

Once paired with a suitable gamepad (precise re-mapping of control inputs is currently restricted to the keyboard), the game really comes alive - bearing in mind that, like a real helicopter, the smooth co-ordination of the different controls is key to effective results.

charming and faithful remake of the classic helicopter save-em-up cyclone, with some well-designed quality of life improvements. collect the mystery crates and winch the stranded civilians to safety, while avoiding the deadly storm and other airborne hazards!

Sumotori Dreams Classic

Sumotori Dreams Classic

Sumotori Dreams is perhaps a perfect example of a cult classic video game.

It has a small but very passionate player base. It’s a game about four Sumo wrestlers - the Blue Guy, Grey Guy, Brown Guy, and Green Guy. All you have to do is push the other Sumo guys over before they get you. That’s it. Usually, doing nothing is the key to victory. All with a comedic intoxicating effect. Just walking around is a challenge.

Originally released in 2007, Sumotori Dreams has endured, now with this shiny new release. In this Classic edition, it runs smoother than ever before, with everything functioning as it should - plus a very welcome addition of an in-game mod loader.

surprised this game made it on here finally, now we can enjoy the bricky sausage like limb physics.

it also comes with map modding support for people who didn’t know and looks like this version has had some work done on it to enhance it for newer specs

A really fun little gem, who’s play style will be familiar to anyone who has played games such as Pilot Wings. With 4 player split screen (but sadly no network) multiplayer it is going to be one of the games I pull out at any gathering with friends that involves gaming.

I would like to see network multiplayer added to this title, as finding 4 friends to squeeze around my TV isn’t always practical, but this is a fun little gem regardless and if you liked games such as mentioned above, and want a local multiplayer title then you cannot go far wrong with this one.

the frame rate is terrible at 2560x1920 (and I have a GTX-980-TI) .

the only game options are to change the volume setting, no graphical options or anything else.

my Wii sports flying game is still the game to beat, this might be fine on a tablet - but you should pass for the PC.
