Genius! NAZI-GIRL GoePPels-Chan ep1
Amazing game, makes me laugh every time I open it up. There is one problem, and it is that the game is only like 20-40 minutes of gameplay, on all of the eps for all options. Still a good game though. I would expect it to be at least $2 each

A short but sweet visual novel. Has a surprising amount of historical accuracy for a moe-styled retelling of the Nazis' propaganda efforts. I’d recommend not posting anything about it on YouTube if you value your channel (I’ve learned this the hard way).
You can reach an ending in about an hour if you don’t rush it and listen to the dialog.
Translations are very well done and everything is perfectly understandable.
One playthrough has me wanting to buy the sequels, if you’re interested then pick it up!

This game is not worth even .99. The map is useless, doesn’t show where you are and the flashlight doesn’t light up much of the area that you are in. I have yet to make it very far from the mountain start point before being killed. Maybe I just need a difficulty setting that is easier.

Oh my fucking god. I got this game from random steam key bundle… I bought it because i like new “deep in steam” games BUT THIS ONE IS WORST I HAVE EVER PLAYED. And fuck god I am done. This game looks nice in pictures even the reviews are good but they are FAKE. Because this game has HUGE map. BUT you will spawn in corner of it and you are not able to get somewhere where is something so you can for 5 minutes and get killed by zombie because u have only knife. I have died like 10 times and never even spotted any house or loot. So PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. REVIEWS ARE FAKE AND GAME IS UNPLAYABLE… REPEAT UNPLAYBLE

Intro
Japanese Romaji Adventure is an educational game that is teaching you romaji, the Japanese language that is written in alphabet. Set in the 1800s, you are to travel between regions in Japan, trying to explore what the country has to offer. Note that my knowledge of Japanese only comes from watching animes, so this review will be based on that.

This is a text adventure with an interesting premise and cryptic puzzles (number sequences, decoding, word search, etc.). You are required to solve each puzzle in order to progress. I blew through the first few puzzles, brute-forced one puzzle with number patterns, and then came to a dead stop (where I have been for a couple of hours). The current puzzle has one in-game hint that is not helpful in figuring out a message hidden in a 10x10 grid of 2-letter combinations.
I do not appear to be the only player stuck and it would be nice if the developers were checking the Steam discussion board to provide some insight.

Super 3-D Noah’s Ark
This game is probably the best game from the Wolf3d engine which you never heard of in the 90s. When this first hit steam and I came aware of it, I looked and instantly recognised the engine. I knew it was going straight to my wishlist and soon got it.
I didn’t play it at first for a few reasons. The screenshots show a hell of a lot of brown to rival Quake. Partly the religious side of things and you need to be in the right mood for an old game in the days when you have lots of other things you can play.

This is actually a really fun game. I’m having more fun with it than I originally thought I would be.
Super 3-D Noah’s Ark is a labyrinth FPS from the DOS era which used and upgraded Wolfenstein 3D’s engine. It added a few cool things like MIDI support and texture-mapped floors and ceilings. This version on Steam has been repolished and ported over to modern operating systems, so now there’s no need to use DOSBoX to emulate it!
The quality of this port is really good. The sound quality has been bumped up significantly, it can play in 1080p with true 16:9 aspect ratio (no stretching), the mouselook feels natural and it supports mods. This release also has achievements and trading cards, which is more than what most re-releases or remakes get.

Darkarta: A Broken Heart’s Quest Collector’s Edition
This game is marketed as a “hidden object” “adventure” and a “point and click” game. I can honestly say that this is the first time I would consider that an okay mix. I generally do not view hidden object games as something that should be in the point and click adventure game category. To me a point and click adventure involves exploring an area, having an inventory (which you generally use to solve puzzles and sometimes have to interact with in your inventory), talking with NPCs, solving puzzles, and a strong storyline. Most Hidden Object games don’t really have an inventory don’t usually involve conversations with characters, usually have a sort of weak story, and usually only have minor mini-games if at all. That’s where this game seems to cross the lines a little. It has some very minor dialogue, let’s you wander through several areas where you need to collect things that you use to solve puzzles in other areas (sometimes you need to interact with them in your inventory), and for a hidden object game very few of the puzzles in the game are actually a hidden object puzzle. Even when you are presented with a hidden object puzzle it generally gives you an option to switch to a match 3 game instead. The story is actually very rich and you slowly discover it through various objects and cutscenes as you play through the game. The additional memory objects can add even more story element to the mother daughter relationship between the min character (Mary) and her daughter Sophia. I’m still not sure I’d call this a Point and Click Adventure but, it definitely comes close. It’s more than an interactive storybook and certainly a puzzle game that goes well beyond your normal hidden object game.

The key for this game was provided by the devs for reviewing. The review and opinions are my own and have been not been influence by this.
Darkarta: A Broken Heart’s Quest is a puzzle game from India which has the look and feel of a HOG, except with a variety of puzzles. I quite enjoyed the array of puzzles provided. While I can’t say I enjoyed each puzzle type individually, you would generally only be given a certain type of puzzle once, so enduring a disliked puzzle will usually be over quickly. The variety of puzzles to me also felt like a bit of a double-edged sword. While I appreciate the use of variety helps to remove the feeling of doing the same thing over, it also made it feel somewhat unfocused. So, was this a case of the game not being able to win? Liking the variety but criticising it for it? Not sure exactly why, but something just felt a little off with only doing puzzle types once. Usually in puzzle games, they introduce a puzzle concept to you and “train” you on it, ramping the difficulty as it went. Perhaps for me then, I would rather have had SOME variety in the puzzle type, but not so much that most types felt like a disposable one-use? YMMV of course.

Flight of the Amazon Queen: 25th Anniversary Edition
This is a classic adventure released in 1995, altough you not have to expect something like an RTX remaster in graphics, the improvements are noticeables and much appreciated compared to the old pixel graphic style.
As always, like in any graphic adventure, the main focus goes to the puzzles and i can say that here we have very good ones, the level of difficulty is average, with few spikes on hard on some of the latests, but most of them are quite logic.
Personally i don’t like the hot spots revealer function, because i think the pixel hunting is a part of the difficulty of an adventure so this will help a lot, but it seems is a new tendency of many modern adventure games now.

In general:
What a nostalgia! I played this game as a kid 25 years ago. I loved it then, I love it now. Some players seem to be way too much critical. Well, this is NOT a remake. This is a simple port of the ORIGINAL game for modern OS with some new features. It runs in full-HD with updated UI and it has full voice acting. But it still looks like the old classic adventure game. Nicely done.
Pluses:
-
runs under modern OS in full-HD
-
faithful to the original look
